Seeing as RE4 is on my top five all time game list, I'm hyped!

My thoughts: it's a good remake so far. Graphics are great and the game feels good. The default stick options didn't feel good, and I had to mess around with them to get them right. Specifically the aim acceleration. I thought turning it all off would get the effect I wanted (nice responsive Call of Duty aiming), but it actually did the opposite. Sliding all the way to the right did what I needed though. Isn't that backward? Shouldn't all the way left be no acceleration so super snappy? Whatever.

A few things stood out to me as worrying, though.

I dislike the modern style reticle. I prefer the red laser beam.

While the controls are generally good, there were some moments where I felt like I lost control of Leon. Especially when doing the quick turn. I would do that strategy where you run down a long distance, then quick turn, stand your ground and fire at charging enemies. Only when I quick turned, Leon turns and then lunges forward, getting me into trouble. It just feels different. Off from the original.

Also, there seems like a lot less money laying around, which might pose a problem, combined with the fact that I saw the pistol only had a couple upgrade ticks for each stat. One of the funnest things about OG RE4 was collecting all that sweet money and doing a lot of gun upgrading. Later games like Village I feel really downgraded this aspect. I hope this remake still has the big focus on the guns and upgrading them a lot through the game. I like many upgrades often, not super spread out and rare.

I'm glad they left in the cheesiness.

It's supposed to be comedic. Long's entire arc is a drastic tonal shift that is done really well imo. The entire second half of the movie was completely unexpected if you watched the trailers leading up to the movie. It was a cool surprise.

Yep, it almost has the same structure as Psycho.

This makes Smith look even worse than before.

I have 5 PS5 controllers and only one broke. They all get the same level of use as I cycle through them in order for a full charge.

The one that broke would suddenly go to FULL LEFT for a second or two before returning to normal. I don't think it is the same as stick drift but something actually fucked with the controller.

Made Gran Turismo a bit interesting before I really nailed down what was happening.

Yes, this is what mine do. Not true stick drift, its like its just messed up inside.

Wierd that I'm having such bad luck with these. I play a lot of online fpses, so lots of clicking L3 in while pushing forward.

Well then dang I've been unlucky.

The one that came with the system has a left stick that is now too sensitive, and your character will walk to the left on their own.

The first controller I bought now has the same problem with the right stick. Camera moves on its own.

The third controller, this one is only a few months old, has a R2 button that is too sensitive. On a pinball machine, for instance, the right flipper will constantly flip really fast. This was probably because I played Ratchet and Clank with the trigger resistance on (because the gameplay kinda involves it), and that shit will break your shoulder buttons. You can feel it happening as it jumps around.

I'm not a dumb player that abuses his controllers and pushes too hard. I've been gaming since the NES, and the only controller I've had problems with was of course the N64, because those were built to fail. But beyond that, never had controller problems. Through all the Playstations. They always worked for as long as I owned them. Hell, even my Switch joycons are fine, there is no stick drift with them.

The PS5 controllers may have a lot of bells and whistles, but they are the shoddiest controllers I've ever had, sans the N64 joystick. These things just break down.

From what I heard, he pumped out these bad movies for a big paycheck as fast as possible because he knew he was deteriating and wanted to leave more money for his family. In that light its a little more respectable.

I'm playing Nioh 2 right now and I prefer it to the first one.

I respect being another version of a Souls game, but it just seems more complicated for the sake of being complicated. All the extra complexity doesn't result in me having any more fun. Having to push R1 after a combo to regain my stamina, for instance. I have more fun in Souls game when I don't have to do that. :\

If you haven't tried it yet, take some Ibuprofen. It can help.

Nothing. I've played Forza Horizon 4 and 5, Flight Simulator 2020, GTA San Andreas "Definitive Edition", Astro's Playroom, Demon's Souls, Dirt 5, Gran Turismo 7, and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and they all didn't seem much better than a PS4 game running in 4K.

Rift Apart literally couldn't be done on the PS4. I'm not just talking graphics. I'm talking those load screens between different worlds. You pass through multiple levels in a matter of seconds, that's just impossible on last gen hardware.

That is a distinct increase in size.

Ratchet and Clank Rifts Apart

There are some moments in that game that are just overwhelming and could never have been done on a ps4.

Denon's Souls Remake also looks really good.

I wish I could do this.

tbh, these days i just can't get behind anything Blizzard makes anymore, not after everything that's come out about their culture of harassment and bullying in the workplace over the years, and with that fucking slimeball Blobby Cokedick still at the helm. even though i do kinda want to play it, especially since the art direction is so much more like D2 than D3, which i never really liked the art direction in D3.

but anyway, if i were to be willing to give Activision Blizzard my money, i would definitely play the open beta. a few days of progress being wiped would be a drop in the bucket of all the hours i'd get out of the full release, if 2 and 3 are any indication.

I've accepted the fact that everything I spend my money on is provided by someone at the top who is evil, so it's all a wash to me.
