So anyway it's definitely the best Ratchet and Clank game I've played. I'm having a blast. Anyone else here play it?

I mean yeah, the entire point of the feds raising interest rates is to combat inflation, and housing prices are a part of that. We're seeing it happen in real time. Other prices of things in general should be similarly cooling.

They need to make a new original installment but with the gameplay and style of these remakes.

The results of this poll tell me I apparently have very different tastes than most men I guess.

Not only is it my favorite Zelda game, it's in my top 3 all time games ever. The things it makes me feel when I play it I haven't found anywhere else.

I always see the backtracking brought up, but isnt that kind of central to the Metroid series? You get a new thing, and then run back through older areas to get some goodies with your new weapon/upgrades

Just a matter of taste I guess, I just played through Prime Remastered and thought it was still like a 9.5/10, with Prime 2 being the 10/10

It's just a matter of how much there is I guess. I loved Metroid Dread. It didn't feel like a slog and it didn't jerk you around. You did revisit old areas but the game always felt new and fresh.

Don't get me wrong, I played it back on Gamecube when it came out, and it was one of those top tier, holy games where I gave it 10/10 and replayed it tons of times. When it came out, it was stunning and magical.

Also, it still does tons of things right. The art design is amazing, the graphics. The music and general atmosphere is fantastic. The whole interface of being in the visor is super cool, the different view modes, and the reflective effect where you glimpse Samus' face during bright lights is still one of the coolest and smartest game effects out there.

And so considering all that, I went and played the remaster.

And I'm sorry, it's a complete slog.

Call it my tastes changing, or call it the fact that video games are made differently today, but I do NOT remember this much backtracking in this game. I mean it is unreal. It's an exercise in patience. SO much backtracking it just starts to make you go insane. The same ol' environments, the same old enemies, over and over and over again. The routes they make you take are sometimes crazy. Sometimes they have you go hopping from one end of the world to the other and back again, no joke.

And the game jerks you around, too. I once got one of those helpful little hints that says hey, go check out this room way over on the other side of the map. And I was like, huh, I dunno, that seems fishy. So I went and checked a guide, and sure enough, I needed to get a nearby item first. I forget which exactly, maybe the grappling hook or something. If I didn't check the guide and followed the hint, I would have traveled all the way over there to find I didn't have the needed item to continue. The game tried to trick me!

So many unnecessary time wasting parts. Like getting to the Sunchamber the second time for the artifact. You go the obvious route, climbing a tall ass tower with ghost enemies shooting you the whole time, only to find impenetrable vines are blocking the door, so you have to go all the way around a different route. And nothing is new or different on that other route. It's one you've gone before. It's completely pointless and there to just annoy you.

The fighting gets super tedious too. So many gunfights in the second half of the game. Almost every room has space pirates, and they respawn if you just leave and come back. You get nothing for fighting them again. It's just a time waster. I spent the second half of the game just running past everything. The first time you go through a place, sure, kill everything to check it all out, but after that the enemies are just another exercise in patience.

Oh and too many pointless scans.

I never died, but if I had I would've been pissed probably, because no auto saves and save points are very far apart.

And of course, when you beat the game, you're rewarded with a 5 second clip of Samus looking bored. And then after that, you guessed it, unskippable end credits that take forever.

Again, I say all this while having rated the game 10/10 back in the day. I loved it. It was a masterpiece back then. Compared to modern games though, it's not. It's a super padded game that tests your patience for BS above all else.

The next medieval or viking set that comes out. Theres some lego ideas sets that are getting made in this vein.

Does anyone ever give you shit for owning Legos? I love them and I have some, the Blacksmith shop is displayed on a shelf, and a pirate ship. I've never had a positive reaction from someone who's seen them. There's always something snarky said about them.

Just feels so at odds from the reality I see online where Legos are kinda celebrated and viewed as something neat to have. 100% of everything I hear about online is positive, basically. In my real world the normies look down on them and view them as something a lesser person would display.

The Lion Knight's Castle is one of those builds that you really have to put together yourself to appreciate, because the vast majority of its cool details are inside, and pictures don't do it justice. I was kinda letdown when I first saw the screenshots (I knew a big castle was coming down the pipeline, and whatever my lofty expectations were, the LK Castle wasn't it), but it ended up quite possibly being my favorite set that I've bought over the past year.

My biggest criticism is that the interiors are very cramped compared to something like the Blacksmith's Hut; and considering how complex the build is in terms of its folding mechanics, it would be far beyond my pea-brain skills to make expansions to it without ruining the whole thing.

Oh I'm aware of all that. I know it's super detailed once you get in there. Still though, it just doesn't look it from the outside. I want something more visually impressive immediately for the normies to wonder at when they see it, and this Rivendell looks like that.

To me this is far more impressive than the big giant castle that recently came out. It's just visually very interesting without big swaths of empty, flat surface.

I prefer natural over bolt ons, but I've always said if you are going to get bolt ons, big giant ones look better than weird little baseballs stuck to your chest.

Personal savings, I believe it was, I just called it 401K.

Fun fact, originally retirement was supposed to be supported by a three legged system. One leg is a 401K, one leg is social security, and one leg is pension.

Pensions don't exist anymore, SS is crap, and good luck with the 401K.

I was vigorously eating pizza (Domino's pan pepperoni with extra sauce and light cheese B]), and complaining to my friend about how horrible the American health insurance system is, when I chomped right into the tip of my tongue. Keeps bleeding, I almost bit the tip clean off. Might be a personal record for worst tongue bite for me.

Man they were already post prison by then? TWD moved so much faster earlier on.

I love the show. But I will say I feel like season 3 dropped the ball. It almost completely removed the humor, and there were some really bad episodes. Like the one where people turn into dumb monsters.

Mistborn OG trilogy were the first Sanderson books I read, and I enjoyed them. Problem is it's been ages and ages, and I read through all of Stormlight (which I enjoyed), and then I tried reading the first era 2 Mistborn book, and I realized I had completely forgotten what all happened in the Mistborn trilogy and I'm sorta lost on some stuff. I wish I could just get like a good summary that hits all the high points for someone who's already read it and wants a recap.

Possible HUGE spoilers next. Like, I remember there being some god ascension antics going on, but I cannot remember who did what exactly. Like, one of the main characters from the trilogy is now some kind of god in the cowboy western era? Are some characters still alive? Like is Kelsier alive? Vin? It's all so muddy to me. I just remember very general stuff. And then I also forget if anything is related to Stormlight. Like, was Hoid in Mistborn trilogy? I forget. Are there other links? But remember I've only read up until the first era 2 book for Mistborn!
