There was a big topic here once about some super dramatic ads i think that I now worry I may have just dreamed up. Like some single woman goes through progressively worse and worse stuff but its just an ad or something.

I mean, it feels like he's swimming in a pool of semantics and personal definitions to purposefully piss people off?

Like, a running theme I see in a bunch of tweets of his I just read is that he's making sure to include ALL gamers in his hate. Like if someone says, but gamers with an asterisk, right? He'll go, no, ALL GAMERS. He really really really wants to nail in that ALL GAMERS are stunted, stupid, horrible people and insults them in the worst way possible.

But then he says he's playing Fallen Order.

Sooo...is he including himself in his hate?

But of course not! He's using a definition of "gamer" that is his own, supposedly.

But wait...that would be an asterisk on the word gamer, which he repeatedly shuts down as no, no asterisk, ALL GAMERS.

But then he still casually enjoys and plays games.

I just don't get it. It's like he wants to have his cake and eat it too. It seems like he's just insulting that corner of people who play games who are obviously terrible people, but when people bring that concept up, he assures them that no, he truly despises all forms of gamers. But then he plays video games himself, which makes him a form of gamer.

Like, what about my 75 year old mom who plays wordle? She's a gamer with an asterisk. But no, no asterisks. All gamers suck, period. My mom sucks.

I honestly just don't understand.

I suppose if this were a tweet, this is when he would retweet it and say that's because I'm a neanderthal or something.

You're basically getting to the point many have come to before that mutants in the x-men world make a poor sci fi stand in for the Civil rights metaphor. The mutants actually ARE dangerous to humanity.

A lot of people don't like the word "smirk" whenever it comes up in prose. It's just one of those words that many writers tend to overuse and now readers are critical of it.

In the classic style Agatha Christie whodunnit murder mysteries, the victim is usually someone very unlikeable. This was kind of a rule she went with, because it allowed a sort of detachment for calmly sitting around solving the case instead of being super broken up and freaked out over the murder.

I love her hair.

I'm more offended she priced her book at only 1.99. 2.99 is the minimum you get 70 percent royalties, anything under that and you only get 30 percent.

I do like the instrumentation though. Just not a fan of those vocals. I feel like if I could make small changes here and there to this it would be amazing.

But yeah, it sort of reminds me that one Psychostick song where they make fun of super heavy metal and the breakdown just gets slower and slower until its funny.

I feel like Netflix fundamentally misses the point of what has made The Witcher as a concept so fascinating. It seems to me like they just want to write their own generic fantasy story and use the IP to get it out, which is becoming mor and more the case for adaptations of nerdy stuff.

Oh well they could have clarified. "rumors of a multiplayer horizon game have been known for a while", that kind of thing. The way they put it makes it sound like they're just expecting it just because.

A multiplayer Horizon game did NOT feel inevitable whatsoever. It's a single player open world action RPG game. That's the total opposite of multiplayer. It's like saying a Witcher multiplayer game is inevitable.

I never played it back in the day. Bought it for PS5, got about halfway through, and I lost interest. I think maybe tactics games just aren't really for me. They're too slow.

While a Horizon multiplayer game felt all but inevitable

Witcher 3 is like if Westworld had a fantasy medieval park and you're a guest. Just roll around a wonderful world exploring different stories.

Oh and one last thing, why would any game maker in the year 2022 of our lord and savior make 30 fps high res mode the default over 60 fps performance mode? I groaned in disgust when the game first came on.

The controls are baffling and awful.

The shoulder buttons need to be swapped, obviously. Attacks should be R1, not R2.

Sprint needs to be square, not circle, so you can jump easy. Mario figured this out decades ago. Decades. I mean its pretty fucking logical. It doesn't take a god damn rocket scientist to understand the concept.

Other than that, too much info and abilities presented all at once in the demo. I assume the full game will gradually introduce them to you, which is how these games are supposed to work.

The worst kind of open world. What makes something like Witcher 3 amazing is all the little narrative stories you come across in the world as you explore. In this game, you go from point a to point b and either kill dudes or push a button.

I actually didn't mind the banter. Felt like I had a Jarvis in my head. Im a bit surprised its gotten so much criticism.

I see a lot of people mad that saves don't cross over, but that doesn't bother me at all. I love restarting on Monster Hunter games. Every new weapon I main gets its own character. What would I do with a save file that already did a bunch of end game content? I'm excited to start a brand new character.

Yeah, it was pretty damn rough. Very ugly on the Switch, but it was still crack just because it was Monster Hunter.

I will mindlessly throw money at Monster Hunter, even though I played the hell out of Rise on the Switch. But it was so ugly on the Switch, with terrible frame rate. It'll be great to replay this game at a silky smooth frame rate.

I feel like these days Monster Hunter is one of the few video games that give me pure unadulterated joy.

He's a good Gomez, it's just that Raul was so amazing that it sort of overshadows what the OG character was supposed to be. It's like Raul made it his own.

I'm a little concerned that I've never once been to a subreddit it said was my number 2 visited sub.

I haven't seen it, but from what I can tell, it's just as disrespectful to the source material as Netflix's Cowboy Bebop show was disrespectful toward the anime. In other words, it's completely, totally the opposite in tone than the original. Almost to the point where it seems like the people in charge actually weren't interested in making an adaptation at all, but were rather simply interested in creating their own thing, but they're using the vehicle of a beloved IP to help push their own thing.

Looks like some nice waifus in this one too. :)

Just checked mine, it's got the manual still, it's the greatest hits version though with red label on top.
