That is what I said in my first post. You're putting a target on his back straight up.

I'm just being realistic about the situation, there are plenty of ways to help the homeless. Giving them designer shoes is NOT it lol.

You do realize they bumped into each other and these were the shoes she was wearing at the time?

This wasn't like a planned businsess enterprise. She saw a dude fishing in the trash for boxes to put on his feet so she gave him the shoes she had to hand...

Being a dick about this isn't being cynical, it's being dumb.

It's not even hindsight, it's just silly.

"Why didn't she have a series of decent quality low priced shoes behind the counter in preperation for giving away to homeless dudes incase she met one?" is seriously your take away from this story?

She knew the guy because he hung around the store. She didn't just randomly bump into the guy.

Or at least that was the version of the story I saw on cbs nightly news about 2 weeks ago

man why are you trumpers so miserable all the time

1) not a Trumper, but whatever, hail Donald Trump I'd it makes you feel better
2) pointing out the obvious is not being miserable, I've just seen this story a dozen times in the last 2 weeks, and I'm glad the homeless man got some shoes, but it is the equivalent to giving the guy a gucci sweater because he's cold. There's a zero percent chance dude is still rocking $500 Jordans. There's about a 99% chance dude got like $50 for them instead of what they are really worth.

If you're gonna give to the homeless that is great, I did all the time when I lived in a rough town. If you really care, sell the Jordans and get the man some air shaqs and a room for the night. People aren't making tik tok fame for doing that though, that is where my cynicism lies.

On the surface it is a heartwarming story, until you realize a homeless man does not need $500 retro Jordans.

If he's smart he sold them and bought some cheaper boots, but it isn't like someone is gonna give a bum the real price for those Jordans.

I mean you're also kinda putting the homeless guy at risk of being beat up and robbed for them too. But anything for internet clout I guess.

Fact of the matter is that it doesn't matter to some people what actually happened that night. Some folks see the guys who Rittenhouse shot as people on "their side" because they supported the looting and destruction that was going on.

Kyle Rittenhouse was on the opposite side, putting out fires and carrying around medical supplies offering aid to people.

The law doesn't matter to people who view politics as team sports, "their guys" got smoked by what they view as opposition. If Kyle Rittenhouse was a liberal and smoked a wife beater and a pedophile that were conservatives they would completely say they had it coming, regardless of it being self defense or not.

Thankfully the majority of people who actually watched the videos don't feel this way, but Kyle Rittenhouse would be doing life without parole had there not been all those cell phone cameras on him that night.

That is kinda odd. The only think I can think of that would make you better with the G26 is the hump on the back is higher/bigger.

Putting the large backstap on the G19 would help.

And the pinky hanging off definitely makes a difference in your grip especially when you're shooting fast or at a distance. If it didn't the +2 magazine and pinky extenders wouldn't be so popular (almost everyone I know that carries a g26 carries this way).

I mean you can train enough to be sufficient at self defense distances but nobody is winning a uspsa or steel challenge course with a G26 without extensions against people with full size guns. The g26 has more recoil and your pinky definitely helps mitigation.

Is the action even in a position where daylight can be seen through it?

On an M1/m14? Yeah I think so. They are pretty wide open at the top. Less so on a more enclosed system like an AR.

But locking the action back is more of a safety measure really. As long as the gun isn't in battery and doesn't have a magazine inserted it just takes other variables out of the equation.

Technically that rifle could be fully loaded and as long as the girl doesn't pull the trigger everyone will be unharmed. We know people are stupid and spastic, so it's best to be 1000% sure, because after handling firearms for decades, you can get very complacent and end up with an ND because of something stupid.

I will say, the fifth rule of gun safety should be "if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol stay the fuck away from guns", because the only times I've seen NDs I'm real life (not at a range at least) was because someone drunk or high on pills fucking with their guns.

If you're gonna look down the business end of the barrel, the safer thing would be to remove the magazine and lock the action open.

Even safer would be removing the barrel from the receiver but with a lot of guns this isn't really feasible.

I carry a full size pistol during winter months, if you wear a good ccw belt and owb holster with a hoodie or big shirt you can keep it concealed still.

With the right holster and belt combo there are people I know who appendix iwb carry full size guns with full size lights. I do understand the G19, I just shoot SO much better with full size in polymer guns that I carry them more.

The only G19 sized gun I carry is a CZ P01 but that has palm swell grips that mold to my hand so I think that's why I can shoot it almost as well as a full sized. And it is metal too that adds a tad bit of weight.

I actually don't have a Glock right now(USP and SAR9 gang) but if I did I'd get another 17 gen 3 with NiBx slide.

If I had to worry about black bears I'd probably carry a Glock 20. Can't think of any many 10mm pistols that are as reliable and affordable, maybe the Tanfoglio but those are more pricey now.

I can shoot my SAR9 better than a Glock 17 and it has 1000 rounds with no malfunctions yet. I sold my Glocks after shooting them for almost 20 years.

Not downing them really, and one day when I have more dispensable income I might get another G17 NiBx, but with stuff like Walther, HK, Sarsilmaz, CZ, S&W, Canik, FN, Sig making stuff just as reliable and more ergonomic (preference) I just don't care for them as much anymore.

Also the compact and subcompact models(19,23,26,27,29,30 etc) with finger grooves (gen 3-4) give me Glock knuckle on my middle finger after like 50 rounds. Really sucks on the more hot rounds. My g27 gen 3 was a fucking nightmare to shoot.
