Show's got me caring about all the characters, all the actors have good chemistry, and the writers really stepped up their game with the plots and humor as S1 progressed and S2 has been top shelf imho.

The first two episodes were pretty rough though lol

There were two dragons

A green one spewing acid in a flashback

And a fat blue one that the main characters gotta escape from

Saw it last night. Great action, really interestingly shot, and all the characters were really likable

It wasn't too easter-eggy or fanservice-y either, which I was worried about going in.

Only downside was the villains were kinda meh.

Yeah the NDP are a hot mess while the Liberals are the go to option federally, but in the prairies it's reversed, where Manitoba, Sask, and Alberta all have a healthy/successful NDP but the Liberal Party in each province is nonexistent

Yep. I personally loved the direction Johnson took things but if you have a problem with the storytelling direction or vision, then your beef is with him, Abrams, Filoni, or Favreau.

The only thing I fault the executives for is overreacting to Solo, and for Iger specifically denying Kennedy/Abrams' request for a three year gap between films in the ST instead of two.

But as far as cancelling some projects, that's what happens at major studios from time to time. It's not indicative of a lack of vision.

And yeah people flip out over the amount of turnover/project cancelations for the franchise, but it's really not at all uncommon for a major studio lol

in the mid 10s as right wing extremism was starting to really take off online you saw a lot of this tactic, what those on the radical right called "hiding your power level" where they would tamp down on their own views slightly or pose as a moderate/leftist and win people over to their side gradually through shit like this.

It honestly worked disgustingly well for a while but it's more miss than hit nowadays. Whether it's because people have gotten better at recognizing it or whether conservatives have just gotten really fucking bad at it is up for debate.
