More companies are giving free credit scores nowadays. I get one from both Amex and Chase without needing my info stolen

Honestly I had never thought to get one before. I just assume you had to pay for it lol

Apparently a company I worked for when I was in college got hacked in a ransomware attack and a bunch of employee information was stolen and when the company refused to pay the ransom the info was uploaded onto the dark web and sold in an auction to... someone?

All very dramatic

Anyway the company offered me two free years of an identity/credit protection service. One thing the site does is provide you with your credit score. Mine is above 800 and apparently that's considered "Exceptional"

Time to get some more credit cards and maybe buy a boat or new car

Why does someone want to hate something before going to see/read it?

Same. I never get the "bullet sponge" complaint in games where it's obvious the game wouldn't work if every enemy died in a couple hits. If they're just saying they don't prefer it as a personal thing, that's fair. But it's not a fault of a game, it's a feature. It's not like developers are still accidentally unintentionally making enemies not die in 2 hits lol. When you like challenges in games, bullet sponges pretty much become a necessity in some. Huge waves of enemies in everything would be out of place.

It just makes combat very dull and unengaging

Absolutely detested the combat and the bullet sponge enemies.

Aside from that it was very enjoyable.

Definitely overrated tho

Read a fanfic recently that had each chapter as a short story about a generation of the Potter family and their relationship with death.

One chapter was about his father, then his grandfather, then his great grandfather, and then it looped back around to Harry as an old man.

Anyway his great grandfather fought in the WWI (which is apparently canon) along with most of his brothers. That particular chapter was very interesting. It dealt with how the Wizarding governments felt about intervening in a Muggle war, how certain wizards defied the law and got involved anyway, and provides a nifty explanation for why the Potter family is so small (most of the Potter men of that generation get wiped out in the war).
