It's still popular but nobody plays 1v1 anymore, they play "commander" which is a 4 player variation.

The combat became much better for me after I watched some guide videos. The game doesn't do a good job of teaching you how it works.

Once it clicked for me, it's the most fun I've ever had with turned base. I'm actually craving for more battles now to really test my party.

Same. There's definitely a learning curve but once it clicks it's so much fun. And I'm not one who normally enjoys tactical style RPG.

Nic Pizzolatto not being involved makes me very nervous.

Not that everything he does is golden, i.e. season 2.

He didn't want to do another so soon but was pressured by HBO. I always assumed after that, as did many others, he used his best story for S1 and didn't really have another fleshed out yet, so slopped it together. S3 was good but nowhere near S1 good and he was done after that, 3 was always the plan. The new writers they got are great and of course the cast looks excellent so I'm excited.

I'm trying to "catch up" with this show. Just finished the first season which I liked well enough with the exception of the finale. The first ep of the second season did not grab me at all so I'm taking a break.

I like Jodie Foster tho do I might pick it back up sooner than later.

They don't build upon each other, you can watch them in any order you want. You can even skip season 2, it's not good except for the Vince Vaughn memes.

Best and worst at the same time. Lady interviewing me was attractive, had massive breasts, and was wearing an outfit where half of them were bubbling out of the top. I'm talking waterbed motions as she walked. Super cleavage.

I didn't stand a chance. If her aim was to weed out pervs it worked flawlessly.

Companies have been making up bullshit to close stores for all kinds of reasons for years. Everything from workers attempting to unionize to stores just not being profitable. Why do they get the benefit of the doubt now?

My generation had Madonna, Michael Jackson, it was similar, just not as prevalently rabid without people constantly being on the internet.

But other than the massive crowds...they're not the same. Both of them had extremely catchy songs. Many of todays top pop singers have far catchier songs. Hers, mostly unrecognizable from a casual standpoint.

She's gone from country, pop and alternative/folk while writing songs that a constantly growing fanbase sees as personal and relatable.

While doing that she also did an excellent job keeping her fanbase engaged. When she was up and coming she made the effort to meet her fans after shows. When she became too popular for that she would have her staff pick out people in the audience for a meet and greet backstage. She would pick her big fans on social media to debut her new album to at her house. Now she's too popular for things like that and instead goes for a three hour epic concert that goes over her entire career which rewards the high investment people have had.

During all of this she is also a ridiculously smart and powerful business woman who has made the correct decisions so she has complete and total control of her own career and image. With the latest victory she has is now distributing the previously mentioned concert through theaters by using her own company and bypassing the movie studios that are currently in disputes with creatives.

At least this makes sense. She has changed her style over the years, did a really good job of it, all while being incredibly kind. Business savvy, consistent, and has built up a loyal army of fans over years.

Memorable hits that stick in your head. Katy Parry, Gaga, Spears, all of them have more recognizable songs to me than Swift does.

That doesn't mean Swift is a generic pop star and that there's nothing special going on. Even if you solely look at the path of her career and how she has kept herself relevant over the past 16-17 years shows that isn't the case.

I see this a lot, but nobody can answer just what it is that's so special.

It's true. I have no idea why Taylor Swift is so big right now. Maybe right time, right place kind of thing? Her music is pretty basic, generic pop stuff. It's not legendary like Michael Jackson or anything.
