FWIW I saw an unexplained thing in space before. It was like something shooting out lights of different colors and then then moving back together. I now strongly suspect it was testing stealth tech in the early 90s, or something with a satellite. But at the time my mom and I wondered if it was aliens because I was 4 and she wasn't thinking about satellites or military tech. But shed seen close encounters and ET

Any species that has the ability to cross the stars has zero interest in anything on earth other than resources. They also would be capable of avoiding crashes, and likely wouldn't even send actual beings here for any reconnaissance. Time and again, these UFO concepts always fall back to anticipating modern or slightly futuristic human behavior.

The UFO sightings in the 1950s were tests of US space travel equipment. The "grey aliens," if ever seen, were likely chimps. The later UFO sightings were related to developing stealth aircraft. I find it far more likely that any pilots experiencing unexpected things are encountering our own testing, and the military prefers that pilots think it's aliens than risk highly classified R&D leaking.

A few things worked in his favor:

  • Jurors probably accepted it was unclear whether a "pass" became assault.
  • There were numerous timeline issues, and Spacey was able to show that accusers were wrong about timing. Jurors really lap that kind of thing up.
  • Spacey came out of the closet hoping that straight people would accept that a gay man is more promiscuous or likely to inadvertently cross a line with no harm done. It's possible jurors felt that way, too.

What could have been the cause? An athletic 18-year old that is Lebron's son with good genes doesn't just have cardiac arrest. Maybe he never got the vaccine and got covid and it screwed up his heart? I remember Lebron showed his vaccine hesitancy a couple years ago. Or maybe he does a lot of drugs? Cardiac arrest at that age is rare.
This isn't true at all. Athletes push their bodies to the max. Especially in the modern era, elite athletes use science and pseudoscience to guide who to push themselves to the absolute limit. Sometimes you hit that limit. Simple dehydration or electrolyte deficiency can cause a cardiac arrest at any age.

It's more common for a young athlete or highly physically active person to have a heart attack than an average young person

there are a lot of ways to combat this. A lot of which Las Vegas and Nevada already do

Planting more native trees and shrubs, enforcing energy-efficient building standards, zoning to promote upward rather than outward growth, and developing alternatives to blacktop roads and concrete sidewalks are all policies that could have a major impact.
To lessen its own carbon footprint, the city of Las Vegas began powering all government buildings and streetlights with renewable energy in 2016. The states largest energy consumers, the multi-thousand room hotels and casinos on the Strip, have also made environmental sustainability a priority in recent years. MGM Resorts has over 20 acres of solar panels atop the Mandalay Bay convention center, and much of the electricity flowing through properties like the Bellagio, Luxor and New York, New York comes from a solar array in the Mojave Desert.

90 days of heat isnt a reason to disregard places where millions live
You don't have the environment or resources for living though. And the massive use of solar in the Mojave has negative externalities as well.

Then whats the issue? There are ways to combat the heat. Just like other states combat the extreme cold lately. Its our version of winter
It's not your version of winter though. Heat is much harder to deal with than cold. You can only take off so much. You can put on the right clothes and handle temperatures far colder than anywhere in the lower 48. Humans have long developed ways to handle extreme cold. We have one way to live in the heat: staying indoors and using electricity-powered AC.

It gets worse for pets. Dogs start to struggle at mere 82F but can handle 32F or as low as 20F for longer coated dogs. Humans and mammals in general handle cold better than heat as we mostly all evolved during an ice age.

It's worth pointing out, Disney could have gone the LOTR route and cast full sized people, making them short with CGI. I'm sure a lot of dwarfs were annoyed at not getting to be in LOTR and the Hobbit. Disney started out planning to cast actual dwarfs, however, and then changed the characters from dwarfs, negating any need to cast real dwarfs. That's even worse. People who didn't get roles in big movies that simply opted to use CGI thought they were going to be cast in this movie, then weren't. The hard reality is dwarfs and actors of small stature are going to have fewer and fewer options thanks to CGI. (Not just playing small people; dwarfs used to manage a lot of practical effects as well.)

You don't NEED a SUV if you have a family. A full sized sedan is fine. But it isn't as if a full sized sedan gets better mileage than a crossover. I traded my SUV for a sedan because we didn't NEED the SUV and because I wanted to have more fun driving. I absolutely have fun driving my BMW M550. I'm 0-60 in 3.5s and my car hits 100 MPH like nothing. As someone for whom a sports car was not practical, I get the best of both a family car and sports car. (The black and orange color scheme also makes me feel like Batman lol). My wife, son and I all piled in for the 8 hour journey to Michigan, and my car easily fit our luggage, his stroller, etc. But if we had another toddler we'd need a SUV probably. (I think two kids aged 3+ is perfectly doable in a sedan.)

This is all to say, I don't think every kind of car should be abandoned for SUVs, but I also don't hate SUVs. Of course, the very big SUVs are pointless and unnecessary for the most part. Hardly anyone needs a Grand Wagoneer, Navigator, or Escalade.

Hornswoggle pointed out that in making that statement Peter put probably 25 dwarfs (main cast plus stunt workers) out of work for a major motion picture with potential residual earnings. While it's nice to think dwarf actors should get a shot at any role, it realistically isn't happening. Peter got roles because he got hot off GoT, but now he contributed to other dwarfs losing that opportunity. Maybe this was the movie that would have helped another dwarf actors break out.

I've seen a few dwarf actors mad about this. Disney was planning to cast dwarfs then abandoned that after Peter Dinklage complained. Hornswoggle from WWE rightly pointed out that Peter had no problem cashing checks for Elf or Game of Thrones, and for dwarf actors there are few parts. He's never going to get a shot at most roles, and now he's lost access to roles he could have had as either an actor or stunt actor.

That's fair, though, because we need to pay for the maintenance of roads and other infrastructure, and people who drive should assume a greater responsibility for that than people who don't. We could raise the tax on power in general, as an alternative, I suppose... but that would also increase the tax on non-drivers.
There are no people who don't use roads in America and almost all Americans use a personal vehicle. Losing gas tax will have to be addressed though.

I'm in no way opposed to getting off fossil fuels (though heavy machines and planes will keep using them, including heavy machines used to obtain rare earth metals needs for EVs). I just think it's been done in a shitty way largely because of Tesla/Musk lobbying. We should have more vehicles like the PHEV Toyota RAV4: 0-60 in under 6 seconds; a PHEV with 42 miles of all-electric power; 38 combined MPG.

SWS hasn't been a huge star but his box office gross is almost $5 billion, and his net worth is $25 million reportedly, so he's doing well. Chris Cline fizzled out. Jason Biggs struggled to move beyond American Pie but he's made a career. Yes. And that's a fair point. You have the option of ignoring it if you're poor. Current car policy is ignoring lower income people and focused just on upper income new car buyers. It's frustrating to me. Even if EVs drop in price the resale value will suck because of the battery issues. GM had the right idea with the Volt and a 50 mile all electric range. That's enough for most drivers to rarely if ever need gas outside long distance traveling. We could cut emissions drastically and could have been doing it for ten years.

It's Tesla's fault for pushing their battery concept as the end all be all. I suspect we are going to have a load of lithium-ion cars with dead batteries and zero value in 5-10 years, with automakers struggling because they went all in on a poor technology.

The other upside of the PHEV is that it would be cheaper to replace the battery thus ensuring some value after ten years when the battery dies.
