I think Octopath Traveler 2 should get in over it for the Best RPG category for example.

It's tough to try and convince people to buy $70 games when the most popular game on the planet is completely free to play.

GTA is one of those games people will spend money on but that list gets smaller with every passing year.

Based on what? It has an 87 on Metacritic and an 88 user score. Something like 30+ critics gave it a 9/10 score or higher.

Sad thing is I have no idea if this is the right movie or not. Video game adaptations were that wacky back then.

What a weird direction. Especially with how popular stuff like John Wick ended up being a decade later.

Steam is a bit of a flawed measure as the game is more console focused and it's being included with F2L Warzone.

Right now it's the second top played game on Xbox behind Fortnite but that also includes Warzone.

That's not even why the game looked bad. Bullet sponge enemies is why. They turned the Arkham series into a shooter for whatever reason. So gone are all the feelings of being a Detective, silent assassin, and hand to band badass, in favor of shooting red glowing parts of enemies a hundred times until they die.

Why they thought completely throwing away the entire thing that made the prior series amazing was a good idea, I'll never know.

It's sad that this bullshit game design has killed the output of Bungie, Bioware and Rocksteady. They used to all be my favorite developers and now I don't give a rats ass about their stuff.

If people were still excited about the movie the mixed reviews wouldn't matter as much. Look at Mario.

But superhero movies aren't exciting by default anymore. WB and Sony are learning this lesson as well.

Even when they're good it's not the same. I don't think anyone would have predicted a few years ago that Oppenheimer would do better than GOTG3 and The Batman.

There's just so many issues after Endgame it's hard to find where to even begin.

Like it's taking so long for them to follow up on anything. Even Captain Marvel was over 4 years ago.

If Iron Man 2 wasn't Iron Man 2 and was instead called Armor Wars and didn't come out until 2012 I don't think that would have done as well either.

It's a shame how they really fucked up the rollout for Ms Marvel. Not making a simple Captain Marvel 2 was a really stupid decision too. Oh well.

Alarm bells have gotta be ringing at Disney. They're running out of safe tentpoles rapidly.

Call of Duty 2 was a really big deal back then for the 360 launch. That was when COD was starting to become the truly big deal that it eventually became. I loved Condemned but that was a bit more niche.

But then Oblivion, Saints Row and Dead Rising came right in that first year too. 2007 was one of the best years of gaming ever.

If you had a 360 from 2006-2010 and a PS3 from 2010-2013 you had yourself a great generation.

It's a definite dark horse yeah. I don't think it's impossible depending on the jury they have. I could see it sneaking through if BG3 and TOTK eat up each others votes. Alan Wake 2 is the definite darling of the 'cinematic story based AAA game' kinda critic.

If someone wrote a political satire with jokes and plots like this a decade ago people would call it too farfetched and over the top.

That's a bit tricky since the voice actor and live action model are different people. Unlike most games the live action guy does some great work in this one lol

He got cast as Kiryu from Yakuza, & is salty that everyone criticizes his performance.Specifically, he's accused of getting the role because of his YouTuber status, which given the pipeline of YouTube to voice acting, is pretty obvious. Dude can accept that his accomplishments aren't fully talent based, & is throwing a tantrum by blocking anyone on Twitter & any other social media, that calls him out. Doesn't help he's really trying to flaunt the position.

It should probably be added that he's a YouTuber that liked to focus his content on controversial and negative stories in gaming. There's even a clip of him going around of him complaining and being critical about Chris Pratt's voice in Mario.

So I think there's an extra element of what goes around comes around with him specifically.

It has a much better CPU than those along with an SSD. The GPU can also handle current gen tech that the last gen systems like the PS4 and Xbox One X cannot.

It's overall just different. Xbox One X is designed to play last gen games at 4k and Series S is designed to play current gen games at 1080p. If a game is designed for both it's around One X level but it can handle games that the One X cannot run at all like Alan Wake 2.

Series S is designed to be a 1080p version of the Series X. Biggest issue seems to be GPU bandwidth. Which leads to specific issues such as split screen being an issue for BG3.

Although tbh the people complaining are exaggerating how much it's a problem for most games. Alan Wake 2 is perhaps the most demanding game of this generation so far and it runs completely fine on it.

I do find this case a bit amusing as YongYea would be the exact kind of person to dogpile on a controversy like this. Guess he gets to see what it's like from the other end now.

They aren't told when their wishes are granted. One of the characters listed is a 100 year old guy still waiting for his wish to come true.

Also just FYI he doesn't say when he'll grant wishes as well.

According to the Wikipedia article which quotes a writer he doesn't even grant most wishes and hoards them like in the clip. He rules the kingdom by giving people false hope.

That literally shouldn't be a spoiler to anyone for a kids movie like this or a story about a dubious figure granting wishes but here we are.

You could forget they had leukemia. If everyone forgot thatd really fucking suck. Go awhile untreated, rediscover the disease but the prognosis is way worse now. If just you forgot itd certainly strain the relationship and theyd you were an asshole but at least they wouldnt lose treatment time. Still though thats downright evil to do that to someone.

Being proudly conservative is almost an oxymoron for an inspiring young artist. All they can really do is make up fan fiction for celebrities who don't talk about their politics lol.

Spider-Verse is specifically about all of the different Spider-man mediums out there. They can all be used and referenced. Even the video games, comic books etc. So yeah they're gonna reference MCU.

When it comes to the MCU I don't think they'll reference anything from Spider-Verse. When they draw from other stuff it's typically other live action movies they have the rights to.

When it comes to the actual writing and production I don't think there's any real crossover between them.

why not give examples to these other reasons ?

• Disney+ has shot out the legs for most Disney movies. People are happy to wait for streaming that isn't too long of a wait. Elemental and Indiana Jones also got hit with this
• Marvel content has had a mixed reception as of late outside of GOTG3. Mixed reception means less excitement which means less butts in seats
• Launching a crossover movie with two of the main characters from a TV show was an experiment that clearly didn't work
• The box office in general is feast or famine right now. When it comes to blockbusters it has been a remarkably tough year especially for Disney. Stuff that was previously seen as reliable has been flopping
• The strikes meant that the stars couldn't promote the movie until a day or so before release

All of those matter a lot more than silly internet clickbait
