According to the liner notes for the Cars' Complete Greatest Hits, during the recording sessions for their debut album, the band joked that it would be their Greatest Hits. While they certainly went on to have some pretty big hits on subsequent albums (in fact, their highest-charted song, "Drive," isn't even from this one), I'd say this one has the highest concentration of hits out of any of their albums. It's short, it's sweet, almost every track got a lot of airplay on the radio and on MTV, and while it slows down a bit after the 1-2-3 punch that opens it, there's hardly a slow spot on the entire record.

My Best Friend's Girl - To put it simply, this is just one of my favorite songs ever. I was a horribly depressed 13-year-old when I first heard it and its devastating lyrics juxtaposed against a peppy pop rock melody just sang to me in the right way at the right time like few other songs ever have. I've probably listened to it over a thousand times in the 21 years since and I'm sure I'll hear it at least a thousand times more before I go.

I'm in Touch With Your World - Probably the goofiest song The Cars ever made, and that's saying something. It's probably the weakest song on the album, objectively, but something about it just makes me love it.
Moving in Stereo - I know it's one of their most beloved songs but it's always been just a little bit forgettable to me, especially among their big ones.

-Veto meeting (another formality but still)

-Final three getting messages from home

That's a LOT to squeeze into an hour

After giving this some thought, I'm gonna mention Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Still need to finish it myself. I was enjoying it, but got distracted by other things.

A fairly scary injury that I'm still waiting for some answers on (but have received some hopeful news regarding, at least) has left me unable to workout as frequently or as intensely as I usually do for the past week and a half. Going to the gym tonight for the first time since Tuesday made me realize that this is at least partially a blessing in disguise - I DEFINITELY needed the rest.

(injury was not workout related, by the way)

Oh yeah, I haven't mentioned yet - Kendra's edit fascinates me. She's had an unusually big edit for someone who hasn't had a lot of agency in the game yet, but I don't think she's the winner (I'm sticking with Kellie for now). Perhaps she's the first juror?

0? Mega Mana and I were at the same theater and even the same screen for the Dark Knight Rises premiere but forgot to make a plan to figure out how to know who each other was haha. So I've been in the immediate vicinity of one.

Liam & Yeremi were far behind all season. I'm honestly stunned they lasted as long as they did.

Another episode that I was drifting in and out for the second half of. Dang this show is on late. I'm not even sure I know who won the leg (I THINK it was Greg & John?).

Going forward I'll probably be watching BB on Paramount Plus at my leisure as opposed to making a point of watching it when it's on. The stupid schedule this year has made me extra conscious of the fact that three nights a week for three and a half months is a huge commitment for something of which my enjoyment is extremely inconsistent.

Hell yeah is right! That's about what it took me to lose my first 50, or maybe like 7 or 8 months. Be proud of it. Doesn't it feel awesome?

We've been doing thematic milestone characters for a while. I did Xemnas for 1300 and Peter Pan (star of Disney's 14th animated film) for 1400. I suggested Noctis for 1500 and GP had already had the same idea.

Btw having to do math on the fly is a skill you have to learn. Lots of people struggle with basic addition or subtraction due to a variety of factors (lack of education, dyscalculia, etc.). It's not really funny or surprising that someone isn't able to do a basic logic puzzle. And people are likely less inclined to engage that while working a minimum wage gas station job. It's just weird and kind of annoying to brag about this/make fun of this random person on an internet message board.

Yes but also out of all the morally reprehensible and legally questionable things SHM has bragged about over the years this is one of the most benign.
