Yes. Fun grey-area ally and meeting her human form in Pirate's Curse and getting a look at her fear of letting her friends down added a whole new dimension to her character.

She was for the first five weeks or so and then she tanked it. I think the only plausible winners left are Matt and Cirie. I just don't see a path to the end against a beatable opponent for anyone else.

I wish I were more into this season of TAR. There are some really good teams and crazy results but they just aren't utilizing the extra half hour well. They're just using it to show more footage of teams struggling at tasks. Like, show us more of the culture. Linger at the airport a little longer. Give us more scenes like in episode 2 where there was a brief scene of the people who weren't doing the roadblock screwing around. Instead I find myself frequently zoning out, especially given the late hour.

Probably just a matter of the murals and props being big and difficult to make. They weren't going to make 10 sets and risk only a few teams doing that detour.

Steve & Anna Leigh and Robin & Chelsea are going to be big U-Turn targets.

It's probably still a "fake" merge. Jeff loves it and I think that was one of the twists he said was here to stay when discussing what may and may not stick around on his podcast.

43 had a 13-person "fake" merge and both Elie, the "fake" merge boot, and Dwight, the merge merge boot, were pre-jury.

Oh yeah, I recently discovered this was a 90s song too and was surprised. Although it's different because there's no way I could misremember hearing it in the 80s.

I personally love it while simultaneously acknowledging and respecting why so many people hate it.

I've seen topics before about songs that you thought were more recent, but I haven't seen any of those Mandela effect "Hey, I definitely heard that song years before it came out!" type topics.

Sting - "Brand New Day" Came out in 1999 and I really feel like I heard that in the early 90s.

Cascada - "Everytime We Touch" is from 2005. I was already a sophomore in high school and I swear I heard it in middle school or even late elementary.

Coldplay - "Viva La Vida" is from 2008. I was already out of high school and that doesn't make sense. I thought I was hearing this around the same time "Clocks" was out.

So I mean, there's nothing there like "I thought this was 20 years older than it actually is" but still kinda messes with me a bit.

So I'm at the gym and just looked up at HGTV and Kim Spradlin-Wolf is hosting a show.

Yeah, I suppose. I'm not a gigantic fan of the ToH episodes, but I guess they're fine.

In a weird way I think you put it perfectly. I was going to mention something about how if the site had upgraded and changed too much it would have lost a lot of its charm.

I'm seeing some people saying shit like "CAST PEOPLE WHO CAN PLAY AND WANT TO WIN" but this is so much more fun.

I mean I can KINDA see where they're coming from, especially if they are relatively new fans. It's been a long time since we've had this kind of string of bad gameplay early on. Every season has its duds, but when your first four boots are three objectively terrible players and a competent player who overplayed their hand and screwed themselves, it's a little overwhelming for some.

Yeah it did seem very raw and I was wondering what the hiccup would be because that post-challenge didn't seem to try to hide a Sifu boot.

This season is feeling like Micronesia - good cast creating a trainwreck. I hope that trainwreck stays entertaining.
