It's not very likely Republicans do this in WI since they have pretty thin supermajorities but even if they did it doesn't really matter. Split decisions would defer to the lower courts and a lot of strategies exist to counter impeachment here. It's basically just a temper tantrum like the Alabama maps thing where they can throw a fit about it but the outcome is ultimately no longer in their hands.

The Prequel Trilogy is about as explicitly political as it gets for something as mainstream as Star Wars, but anti-woke people will still scream about how media now is somehow "different." What happened is they didn't mind or think about the politics when they were younger, antiwoke content rotted their brains, and now they think everything is suddenly political. It's definitely true they would call Ripley from Alien "woke" if it came out today.

Why would someone engage with a genre like science fiction if they take such issue with trans people? How is it unimmersive or "current day" for a trans person to exist in 300+ years when humanity becomes fully spacefaring? The genre tackles discussions on humans or sentience that doesn't conform to "normal" standards as its baseline and has longer than this guy has been alive.

I really think if something like Ghost in the Shell came out today people like this - who didn't bat an eye 30 years ago - would have unhinged meltdowns over it. They just don't seem like serious people.

Setting up to be the last weekend of this shit. Basically 3-4 months of absurd temps with raw temps or heat indexes average above 95f for weeks on end. We had a period of 15 days where the raw temp did not dip below 80f. The people running this state are fucking evil. This is an interesting philosophical thing because while the assembly itself may lack violence, their ideas are innately violent, they despise free speech, their use of it is simply taking advantage of it so they may later destroy it, and their "ideas" should not be argued with or acknowledged as they are liars who do not care about truth.

It's a good case example in which them participating in a "debate" at all implies an equal ground between them are their opponent when this simply cannot be the case based on their views of the world, meaning a debate is a farce that only elevates their position by simply being there. At the minimum, they should be ignored, or counter-protested in a way where counter-protesters have ways to defend themselves.

I don't know how I feel about government laws restricting these groups because I think it can be rife for abuse, but I understand why they tend to be outlawed in a lot of countries.

This law just made some victims worth more than others. A LOT more.

Now, someone w/ a BAC 4x the legal limit plowing into a 20 year old college student in a crosswalk going 70 mph in a 30 mph zone gets no fines beyond the prison time, and someone w/ a BAC 1.2x the legal limit that hits some 45 year old idiot (that has 6 kids) crossing the freeway w/o looking while going the legal speed limit gets hit w/ massive child support fees.
It makes the punishment no longer fit the circumstances of the crime and instead fit how much of a breeder the victim was.
Dear god do I hope the Supreme Court overturns this sick joke of a law!

My logic is a 7~ on a game is fine if it's short or not a super dedicated thing, but unless I really liked the particulars there's just no way I'm investing dozens of hours on a 7/10 RPG-like game. I could play much better games with that kind of time investment

How do they not understand that Trump IS the Republican Party at this point? He's a cult leader and 50-60% of the voting base will never vote for anyone else in a primary. Unless you're Skyrim, the answer is no.

There's tons that retain traction/nostalgia years after the fact. This just didn't hold on because it's basically just a Ubisoft clone. It's a shame because there's a lot to learn from prior games in the franchise but it opted to be kind of lazy and will likely be forgotten entirely.

Hearing the name ShadyVox is so, so weird. Back a long time ago (early 10s) there was a podcast called Wha-Chow! and he was a regular on it for a while. LittleKuriboh had posted about the podcast on YT sometime around then and I remember listening to it a ton.

A lot of the people on that podcast turned out to be fucking sickos. I think Zito is the only name that bounces around that was on a lot who walked away unscathed (besides the women, who were all treated like shit.)

Probably less common, but yeah. SonicFox quit Ultimate pretty quickly. He did not do well in early tristate locals. The thing is though that nobody really shit on him for it, he's still one of the GOATs and he just didn't click with Ult lol

You have to disable 90% of the features in Smash to be a "fighting game"

The game is inherently really customizable so this doesn't even make sense as a statement. The innate state of the game isn't everybody treating every stage/item equally

It'd be like saying TF2 leagues aren't real shooters because they ban a bunch of unlocks. It's just not a coherent statement and it's obviously based on some sense of ego rather than what actually takes place in the game itself
