It's not the Democrats job to vote for a Republican for Speaker. Especially since said Republican is unwilling to deal with them honestly.

Without Democratic/moderate Dem support McCarthy is likely toast.

They offered to prop him up in exchange for concessions/rule changes in the House. McCarthy said "no" and the Dem response was "aight not our problem then"

I don't have the hostility many people do towards GaaS games. The concept is, in theory, very good.

Like take the base of TLoUII, the stealth, combat, movement, the fairly open environments like downtown Seattle, and put it in a situation where every week there's new quests, and storylines told over the course of months and years? Awesome.

Naughty Dog was just not up to the task and tbh it's probably best they just scrap this entirely and focus on TLoUIII or whatever new IP they got in the pipeline.

I am not a fan of selecting PAC leadership for political positions.

However, if she is not a viable candidate for the Senate seat because of reasons, then I think it's a bit of an inspired choice to prevent Newsom from putting his thumb on the scale come the next election.

Yeah that's one of the things he said before Feinstein passed away. If he had to fill the seat he would not select any of the candidates in the primary to fill it so as to try not to influence the race. This seems in keeping with that.

I remember getting a laugh out of Barbara Lee being all salty because since she's in the primary (polling a distant third) that effectively ruled her out as a replacement

Choosing someone from Cali but not currently registered to vote there or whom doesn't live there is a pretty good move if you don't want them to run for the position permanently.

Which is supposedly Newsom's aim. Aside from that, she's a solid choice.

Someone always needs a beard. I highly recommend them. Let them grow and grow until you hit terminal length. Then never cut them again.

I can grow a decently thick/dark beard but I fucking hate when it gets any length beyond a shadow.

I leave myself with a few days stubble and that's it
