Here was my experience just now:

Chrome:
  • could not log in. Kept saying my password was incorrect
  • Would not send password resets
  • I reset password from my phone. Tested it there, all good.
  • Go back to chrome, it still wont register password reset.
Firefox:
  • Logged in. Go to play video. "Something went wrong". try again. "Something went wrong"
Edge:
  • plays, but stutters
Restarts PC, clears cache. Now firefox works, chrome still doesn't.

Like...come on.

I constantly get locked out of my account, like the login page just doesn't register your attempts and it forgets to send password resets. On several different browsers.

On multiple devices the video player just sometimes just doesn't load.

It has really big trouble playing on a TV, and most TVs don't have a crunchyroll app.

Why?

I'd love to see jamaica take other strength sports seriously, like weightlifting. I reckon they'd be a force to be reckoned with.

I'm saying what I said. Sports were segregated because men really really fucking hated playing with women because they haaaaated when they lost. So they made up rules to say "women are too fragile and can't compete"

This wasn't decided by women, it was decided by men. In the between years, women's leagues began to crop up but by this point lots have changed about the game including numerous doping scandals.

In chess, iirc, women's leagues were created because it provided a safer space for women to play chess. Yes, things have gotten better over the years but it's worth remembering in the 70s there were less then 200 women chess players and these things take time as culture slowly changes.

It has nothing to do with aptitude of women and everything to do with culture

Even if that's what happened then, I'm asking you what we should do now? Should we desegregate sports, have men and women and people of any gender identiy all competing in one open division?

If we're using time as the metric, what about the I dunno, 4 years of full time practise he had before ride the lightning, 6 years before master of the puppets, 7 years for and justice for all, etc.

Seems like a pretty decent amount of time. I started playing drums at 12 and by the age of 16 I was maybe second best in my school, and that was just practising like 2x a week.

You can't just drop one of the most universally loved, talented, prolific and multi-faceted drummers of all time as a counter argument. Bonham could have played in any band in any genre in any time period, he was that good.

I'm saying Lars is sucky in his own special unique way that makes metallica great, and that in itself qualifies him as one of the GOAT drummers ever.

He has a stupid face, though.

And a stupid personality, let's not forget that. I genuinely believe that the reason so many metallica songs just like...change time signatures half way through is because no one else in the band could be bothered confronting lars that day, or any day.

He's constantly thrased by the metal community, the music community and casual fans alike for his inconsistent live performances, his amateurish mistakes and timekeeping, etc. Common arguments like "you put lars in any other band and he'd fucking bomb so hard", "literally any session musician is better than him", "metallica would be better with a better drummer", etc.

I don't agree, or think it even matters. For one thing, what does it matter how Lars would do in another band? He's only ever played for Metallica. That's his one job, all he's ever wanted to do. So comparing how he'd do in other bands is redundant. If it's pointless to talk about putting a metal drummer in a jazz band, it's pointless to talk about putting Lars in a not-Metallica band.

For another, how completely unique does he sound? I swear you can give me a list of 10 other great metal session drummers and I could not distinguish their sound at all. Even some of the most technically proficient and genius metal drummers can be hard to pinpoint. But I can tell its a Lars Ulrich sample within 4 bars. There is no one on earth who sounds like that. That's an amazing quality in a musician. Like no one criticises Bob Dylan for lacking singing chops, but you can spot Bob Dylan singing any day.

One of my favourite things about his drumming is that it seems like he inadvertently introduces weird time signatures because he just like...doesn't know how to keep a straight 4/4 beat. And somehow that becomes part of the song like the other band members couldn't be bothered arguing with him, and so you have that unique metallica sound. I know that sounds sarcastic, but I genuinely love it. Lars drums in a weird way that you wouldn't teach, and I like that.

Shout out to Ringo Star, Ginger Baker and Meg White for similar reasons.
