I didn't even realize what was happening with the tide ads. I just looked up and saw the Old Spice horse thing becoming a tide commercial and went "WTF?" I guess people were talking over all the other ones and I just never figured it out. Even seeing them now, they don't really stand out to me that much.

I think the most effective part of the Tide Ads came from watching the Super Bowl as a whole

Every time an ad came on that didn't immediately have a brand shown, everyone in the room would right away start guessing if it was a Tide Ad

As much as I think remakes are overdone, these type of point-and-click adventure games are exactly the kind of games I'd like to see remade. Remakes are what got me to play Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle, both of which I enjoyed quite a bit.

I'd love to see that with this one. The biggest strengths (the horror, the story structure) would remain, but the issues (arbitrary and exhausting action lists, interactive items blending into the background) could easily be fixed

One of the most frustrating moments was trying to open a locked sarcophagus. When I entered the room, I attempted to "use" it and saw it was locked. After figuring out how to unlock it and exhausting every option multiple times, I finally figured out that the game wouldn't move forward because I hadn't "looked" at it... to see that it was locked, which I had already discovered by using it.

also I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream (both the game and the original story) still stands as one of the best horror titles of all time

Dan storms down the hall, still fuming from his interaction with Seung Mina.

The sun was beginning to set on the day. "One more night of sleep," he thought. "Tomorrow, I finish this. Mina, then Snake, then... Haggar." He chuckles. "Hell of a day I've got ahead of me, I guess."

He opens the door to his room, to find none other than Fred Durst passed out in his bed, feet on his pillow and his head hanging off the near edge.

"What the hell," Dan growls. Durst opens his eyes, looking and Dan somehow standing upside down on the ceiling.

"Oh, hey, what's up?"

"I... why... how are you still alive?"

"Shit, man, I'm a total badass, that's why."

Dan's frown slowly bends into a smirk. "I guess I'll just have a little practice before the real games start tomorrow."

Durst flips over. "Oh shit, I know that look. Fight club time! Hold on, let me put on some mood music." He jumps up, ruffling through Dan's belongings looking for any type of stereo.

Dan facepalms. "It's above the dresser."

"Ha!" He pulls out a CD and pops it in.



"God, what is this garbage."

"Shh... shh... it's just getting good."

"Enough of this." Dan leaps into the air, divekicking at Durst, whose eyes are closed as he jams out to the music.

On the beat, Durst grabs Dan's leg in midair, swinging him into the ground face first. "YEAH!" He rips his shirt off, snatches a hat off the dresser, and throws it on backwards, the coolest way to wear a hat.

Dan pushes himself up a bit. "Guess I underestimated you." He stands up. "Let's try this again."

Durst grabs Dan by the shirt and pulls him forward, headbutting him, and then jumps into a roundhouse kick as Dan stumbles back. "You talk too much." He jumps onto Dan, dragging him to the ground, and begins wailing on his face.

"Guess we're fighting dirty then, huh?" Dan knees Durst in the crotch, kicking him in the chest as he starts to pull back.

Durst falls back against the bed. Reaching back, he snatches a pillow off the bed, throwing it at Dan. In the distraction, Durst leaps off the bed, over Dan, landing behind him. He grasps onto Dan's ponytail, pulling him off his feet with it and slamming him into the wall of the room.

"Heh," Durst laughs, stretching his back. "Well this was fun, but it's almost prize money time, so guess we should get this over with."

He reaches under the bed, grabbing his sword.

Dan looks up at him. "Holy..."

Durst swings Soul Edge, halving Dan in a fiery strike.

"FUCK, MAN. FUCKING GODDAMN, THAT'S INSANE!" Durst stares in awe at Soul Edge, nonchalantly walking out of the room as the songs comes to a close.

Bioshock Infinite, though the time travel aspect was pretty minor until the end

Molly definitely should've been a younger actress, yeah. She seems to have the intelligence of a 10-year-old, but it's hard to buy because she clearly isn't. Doesn't help that she's the worst actor of the bunch by a pretty wide margin

I do think the show has potential. So far it seems like it's trying to find footing but I think it could be great if they really tried

Never read the comics (aside from research on Karolina Dean back when I did the LGBT character ranking)

4 episodes in, thoughts so far:

-I like the mystery, but I really wish the pace was just a bit faster. Feels like they're intentionally drawing things out more than need be
-Molly is one of the most frustratingly stupid characters I've ever seen. I get that she's the youngest but she's not like noticeably younger than the rest (I mean, they all go to the same school) so her being just so dumb is hard to just forgive
-Niko's mom doesn't even pretend to not be evil wtf
-Visual effects so far aren't incredible, but they're definitely cool, hoping to see more supernatural/sci-fi stuff
-oh shit just started ep. 5 and Dr. Doom is there
-As much as I like the mystery shows where nobody tells anybody anything for dumb reasons are so goddamn frustrating. Guess that kind of goes into the pacing thing

Overall really liking it so far (good characters, cool mystery) but it does have some issues. Not near as good as Legion, but considerably better than Gifted.

Thoughts on The Cloverfield Paradox (very minor spoilers)

This movie seems to want to do a lot... but never really makes the full effort to do so.

It wants to explain Cloverfield lore, but it doesn't outside from a couple stray lines that don't ACTUALLY give any legitimate explanation.

It wants to be a standalone sci-fi thriller, but it falls into genre tropes never properly explores the actual science (for a better alternate universe experience, check out Coherence).

It want to have an emotional parallel plotlines connecting space and Earth, but relies on flat characters in space and has nothing happen in the Earth story.

It's not the worst sci-fi thriller out there; the performances are decent enough, and it makes cool attempts at concepts like reality warping, but just doesn't have the followthrough.

Probable Overreaction: That Foles performance was arguably legendary.

Really felt to me like a lot of Brady's yards/passes were going into poor coverage by the Eagles (not blaming Brady, I mean, if it's there it's there), but Foles was out there just throwing into crazy windows with no fear.

Honestly I think it's equal parts Foles/Pederson here

The original Cloverfield is pretty terrible but 10 Cloverfield Lane was excellent. That said, I don't mind a film more connected to the original as long as its good as well.

I actually liked the first one a good bit
