I think all that ruling stuff is great. Magic is a system of rules with consistent logic unlike Hearthstone which is janky and inconsistent.

in the most recent tavern brawl sometimes when the void monster would eat Cairne you'd get two 4/5s, other times it would somehow eat the Cairne, then also eat the void monster that ate the Cairne, and the token and you'd end up with a 12/15. it was totally unclear what caused it.

or just look at the tunnel weasel. If Hearthstone had a sort of comprehensive ruling page like Magic does the explanations for how that card works in different situations would be 5000 words, and it wouldn't all make sense

It doesn't have Magic's shit-awful mana system that Wizards refuses to update. Even after the finals of a pro tour saw someone lose because they had to mull to 3, all they did was add a dumb scry rule instead of just going partial paris (Hearthstone's mulligan, basically).

There's also a lot of other stupid shit, like the Pithing Needle ruling and all the rules lawyer idiots who defended it. I want no parts of a community that fucking scummy. Hearthstone's goal was taking everything bad about Magic and getting rid of it for a streamlined experience, which is great.
