Situation 1: sabotaging a train track as an act of protest and warning people about it ahead of time so no one gets hurt (the thing they did)

Situation 2: just fucking derailing a passenger train and killing people and not even taking credit for it (the thing you suggested they did)

the leap from the first situation to the second makes no sense. The only thing that have in common is they both involve trains.
