Topic | Boutta begin Tales of Symphonia playthrough number, what, 20? |
ProfDE 02/20/18 10:10:59 PM #100 | I hated the one area that you had to release various color locks which involved multiple no gravity puzzles. I usually have to look up the solutions for them. --- |
Topic | "Parents should never spank their kids." |
ProfDE 02/18/18 6:03:39 PM #59 | The problem is there is no way to isolate based on spanking or not being the only factor. Kids grow up in different environments. Spanking can be an effective form of discipline, but should not be the first choice. When it is used, it is important that the child is taught what a more appropriate response would be and why that is. Spanking does not equal abuse automatically like some people seem to believe. If marks are left I would classify it as abuse. If it is just a little redness it is not abuse. During my time of growing up it was commonplace for kids to be spanked, sometimes with an implement such as a paddle. Parents were in much more control of their kids back then. It seems like a lot of kids, particularly teens, control parents instead of the other way around in this new age. For what it is worth, pretty much all of my friends and I would rather get spanked than be grounded for a week when we were growing up. --- |
Topic | Boutta begin Tales of Symphonia playthrough number, what, 20? |
ProfDE 02/17/18 8:53:02 PM #7 | I imagine you doing around 5000 damage with the devil arm weapons for main characters. What is your favorite scene? --- |
Topic | I love the Winter Olympics. |
ProfDE 02/17/18 8:47:34 PM #8 | I like watching the fails just as much as the good performances. There are so many commercials so we just record it so we can watch it without commercials. --- |
Topic | Do you fall on left or right politically? |
ProfDE 02/17/18 8:45:29 PM #6 | I'd like to consider myself more of an idealist. --- |
Topic | Do you feel you look your age? |
ProfDE 02/17/18 8:44:07 PM #27 | I'm 30 but if I'm shaved I look around 20. If I haven't shaved I gain at least 5-10 years. --- |
Topic | how many times have you cried today (s a d b o y z) |
ProfDE 02/17/18 8:42:31 PM #6 | I haven't cried in years and that was from losing my grandparents and dog in the same year. Before that the last time I cried would've been from getting spanked with a paddle. --- |
Topic | What's your favorite Castlevania game |
ProfDE 02/17/18 8:37:06 PM #38 | I've only played the first three games in the series and enjoyed Castlevania 3 the most since you could get different helpers each time and do different paths. --- |
Topic | i feel asleep!! |
ProfDE 02/17/18 10:56:13 AM #10 | The truck have started to move. --- |
Topic | worst job interviews you've ever had? |
ProfDE 02/16/18 3:12:22 PM #31 | Vertania posted... donkeyjack posted...Why didn't you? Out of curiosity was this American Income? Because it sounds a lot like the interview I had with them. I made the mistake of taking that job and it not working out so now I'm struggling to get by back in the retail business again. --- |
Topic | Thoughts on the ending of Super Metroid |
ProfDE 02/15/18 7:22:02 PM #17 | Did you remember to save the animals? --- |
Topic | Dog food: kibble or wet? |
ProfDE 02/14/18 9:49:57 AM #17 | Wet food makes your dog more likely to have dental issues although it is more palatable. --- |
Topic | I agree with limiting what types of food can be bought with food stamps. |
ProfDE 02/13/18 11:59:45 PM #72 | I do think EBT should not work for snack food like cookies and chips because they have low or no nutritional value so they can pay out of pocket if they want that. I also think it should be a maximum of 6 months. If you can't get your stuff together in 6 months to be able to pay your bills, you aren't putting in the effort. When I quit my life insurance job, I had a new job not even a month later even though it was December which is generally when places don't hire. --- |
Topic | Waitress fired over post after saying she wasn't tipped on $735 take out order |
ProfDE 02/13/18 1:06:22 PM #141 | The server was out of line, but I will say a tip should have been given based on it being over $700 of food. If it was only $20 of food I wouldn't expect a tip to be given for take out. --- |
Topic | Where does one buy peasant clothing? |
ProfDE 02/13/18 8:47:52 AM #6 | Probably could buy something at Walmart. --- |
Topic | The more I think about it, the more I realize taxation is theft |
ProfDE 02/13/18 8:40:43 AM #14 | What isn't fair is how much of my check the government takes. I lost 35% of my last check to taxes and I only work part time. There is something seriously wrong with this. Plus the fact the government overspends on stupid stuff that doesn't matter causing the country to go into huge amounts of debt. --- |
Topic | Has anyone here taught themselves SQL before? |
ProfDE 02/09/18 8:40:35 AM #4 | I'm completely self taught and am really good at it. What helps is to break down code that some applications your site uses and figure out what each piece does. Learn how to index correctly and use foreign keys to make your life easier. --- |
Topic | windows 10 is absolute trash from an IT perspective |
ProfDE 02/07/18 6:12:44 PM #22 | I hate Windows 10. If I have my connection set to metered it should NEVER download something without asking me. My connection isn't really metered, but I hate having a bunch of stuff run in the background by Windows that I don't know about. There should be a class action lawsuit against Microsoft for forcing updates on metered connections. --- |
Topic | So I'm getting a $1000 bonus thanks to tax cuts |
ProfDE 02/07/18 5:56:37 PM #12 | If it is anything like mine, you'll lose over 30% of it to thieves known as the government. --- |
Topic | Raw beef is so yesterday. It's all about raw PORK! |
ProfDE 02/05/18 11:39:01 PM #17 | Chef Ramsey would definitely yell and destroy some dishes. --- |
Topic | Have you ever been falsely accused of shoplifting? |
ProfDE 02/05/18 11:36:42 PM #16 | Tezlok posted... yep. happened once. I wasn't even a kid. I was like in my late 20's when this happened. I went into a gas station to look for something and they didn't have it. I walked in, noticed the worker was in the backroom, scanned all the store and decided it wasnt there and walked out. as I was walking out, the worker came back into the front by the counter. and then I left and was walking away from the store when I heard someone calling at me. turned around and the guy said "ok what did you take"? I said I didn't know what he talking about and he told me to show my my pockets. I showed him everything in my pockets and he said "come on maaaaaan....." and went back inside. if i could do it again I would tell him to go fuck himself when he demanded I empty my pockets. he had no right to accuse me when I did nothing. when he went back inside he probably checked the security tape and was pissed off when it just showed me walked around for like 30 seconds. A lot of places you aren't allowed to accuse someone of shoplifting. I hope you called the manager and told him how an employee falsely accused you of shoplifting. --- |
Topic | Pokemon Colosseum has the most underrated video game soundtrack of all time |
ProfDE 02/05/18 9:23:54 AM #7 | I really enjoyed the music from that game too. I would like to see another Pokemon Colosseum type of game for the Wii U. --- |
Topic | How messy is my room, CE? |
ProfDE 02/04/18 12:42:24 PM #10 | My room usually looks like a tornado went through it, but no one else goes in my room so it is fine. --- |
Topic | FFVII - Have you ever beat the Ruby and Emerald Weapons without cheating? |
ProfDE 02/03/18 11:36:23 PM #23 | I beat both on the PC version, without Final Attack either. The lucky 7s doesn't actually kill them as I once got my hp to that while healing on the field map so I tried it and they survive. I used HP Absorb -> Knights of the Round while going after Ruby Weapon and then Mime so basically I would fully heal my HP each time I could use Mime. --- |
Topic | CE's favorite programming language? |
ProfDE 02/02/18 11:46:22 PM #20 | PHP. Always has been and always will be. --- |
Topic | Very few US adults report receiving bonuses or raises from the new tax law |
ProfDE 01/29/18 9:39:02 PM #9 | My new place is giving out bonuses. --- |
Topic | CA proposes bill that would impose a $1,000 fine or jail for plastic straw use |
ProfDE 01/29/18 9:31:11 PM #129 | I always use a straw if there is ice in my beverage. I also hate it when they give you a lemon with your water if you don't say anything. If I want a lemon with my water I will specifically say so. --- |
Topic | what are some good herbs for anti inflammatory |
ProfDE 01/29/18 9:21:53 PM #4 | Not a herb, but pineapple is suppose to be really good for anti inflammatory according to the chiropractor I go to. --- |
Topic | Is this a good Lucario gen 4 move set? |
ProfDE 01/24/18 4:00:11 AM #2 | I don't see the point of counter on Lucario because it is so fragile. It only works with Focus Sash which I don't think is a gen 4 item anyway and that is assuming you have something to deal with Stealth Rock. --- |
Topic | Did you like Tarzan using Phil Collins music? |
ProfDE 01/24/18 3:55:39 AM #5 | I thought the soundtrack was good. --- |
Topic | I uses 26GB phone data last month |
ProfDE 01/23/18 12:46:33 AM #4 | Do you watch a lot of videos while not connected to wifi? That seems like a huge amount of data. --- |
Topic | Trump has to be Top 3 worst president ever at this point, right? |
ProfDE 01/21/18 2:25:00 PM #156 | BLAKUboy posted... ProfDE posted... I don't have or need any alts. In the entire time I have been coming here I have only received 1 NKL which was a long time ago. --- |
Topic | 22 year old social influencer tries for a free hotel room, owner shuts her down |
ProfDE 01/21/18 2:03:33 PM #97 | After reading the article I am completely on the hotel's side. --- |
Topic | Imagine having 3 karma and over 70 posts |
ProfDE 01/21/18 1:38:00 PM #31 | This reminds me of the picture of a report dealing with a post to karma ratio. --- |
Topic | How much HOMEWORK is TOO much for a kid EVERY NIGHT in HIGH SCHOOL? |
ProfDE 01/21/18 9:33:50 AM #38 | I don't agree with having mandatory homework. If a child needs help with a particular type of problem they can do some of the problems from the book. If you know the material you shouldn't have to do homework. Homework was responsible for lowering my grades in school even though I did fine on tests. --- |
Topic | Best Metroid game |
ProfDE 01/20/18 5:26:44 PM #26 | *Saves the animals.* --- |
Topic | Trump has to be Top 3 worst president ever at this point, right? |
ProfDE 01/20/18 5:21:08 PM #141 | My vote is for Obama as the worst president ever. I want to remind everyone that it was under Obama's presidency that people are forced to have health insurance or pay a fine when taxes are done. It should be a person's decision on whether they get health insurance, not the governments. Why should those of us who never go to the doctor like me have to buy health insurance? --- |
Topic | Oh look, someone on my Facebook Feed is bitching about Common Core |
ProfDE 01/19/18 11:36:34 PM #18 | I luckily did not have to deal with common core because that was not around when I went to school. It seems to overcomplicate things so to me it should be called common crap. --- |
Topic | anyone take L-Theanine before? im thinking about taking it to manage stress |
ProfDE 01/19/18 11:34:53 PM #4 | The million dollar question is what kind of side effects are there? Seems like every time I see a tv commercial the side effects are worse than the disease and make up at least half of the commercial content. --- |
Topic | Someone should make a movie about Donald Trump... |
ProfDE 01/19/18 11:30:13 PM #10 | Make sure to have the line "Down the hall and to the left." --- |
Topic | There's nothing wrong with homeschooling. |
ProfDE 01/19/18 9:32:48 AM #6 | At least you can teach them the skills they will need in the real world, not a bunch of useless facts they will never use. High school should focus on budgeting, writing a resume, interviewing, and things like that. --- |
Topic | My job won't give me more hours because I'm in high school |
ProfDE 01/19/18 9:30:45 AM #25 | I know there are restrictions for those who are under 18 such as what hours they are allowed to work, how many hours they can be scheduled per day and per week. I also do not recommend lying about your education because if it is found out about, it can be grounds for termination. I'm not sure what kind of restrictions there are with freelancing, but you might look into doing that on the side. I did it on the side for a while and made decent money. --- |
Topic | Would you homeschool your kids? |
ProfDE 01/19/18 9:25:51 AM #12 | I think it would be good since schools seem overcrowded. The high school I went to about 15 years ago had over 3000 students and most class sizes were 25+. There is no way to focus on individual needs in schools like this and private schools are expensive. --- |
Topic | Employer tells us to stay home due to snow but then subtracts PTO. Legal? |
ProfDE 01/18/18 11:49:40 PM #11 | It should be your choice on whether you wanted to use PTO for the time you missed because of your employer telling you to go home. --- |
Topic | Hey, Eevee-Trainer, you got a plush collection? |
ProfDE 01/18/18 11:47:10 PM #6 | I have a bunch of Pokemon plushies. The whole Eevee set, a couple Pikachus that are 3 feet tall or so, shiny mega Rayquaza, mega Latios, and I think a few other random ones I'm forgetting. --- |
Topic | Why does task manager say I have 35 tabs open in chrome |
ProfDE 01/18/18 11:40:52 PM #6 | Every once in a great while I do a restart on my laptop and that helps with the memory problem. --- |
Topic | Did you have a good day or a bad day today? |
ProfDE 01/18/18 11:39:25 PM #15 | My day was good overall. Two separate shifts were open in the upcoming weeks because people wanted them off so I was able to pick up 16 hours of work. While I was on break my car insurance called to let me know they reduced my monthly rate by about $30. The only bad part was it was a slow day where it was sometimes half an hour or more between customers. --- |
