Just to be clear, that was because it's the only one I've been to. Though I don't think I've ever heard anyone say Coors isn't a good park

The idea of touring all the stadiums in a sport is neat, but I think it's less cool nowadays when teams seem to get new stadiums more often. I'd probably do it anyway if I had the money and time

Twitter and Facebook have definitely made it a lot worse. Everything that used to just be part of niche web communities has gone mainstream, including bad things. I remember for the first few years I came here the concepts of trolls and memes were interesting to me because I'd never hear anybody IRL talk about those, I thought it was just for super-nerds who go to 4chan and gaming forums

Does anybody else ever come across forum posts from only like 2014, and even when the vaguest political allusions are made, it feels palpably different? Maybe that's just confirmation bias on my part, knowing it was a more innocent time, but everyone seems much more relaxed, right and left. Now everyone is just miserable. This is what I really hate about the alt-right. They may be horrible and racist, but I'm not sure they're horrible and racist in service of anything tangibly useful to them. It's purely spite-based politics, but not just against marginalized groups, but against anyone and everyone they can drag down to their level of misery. And they pretend to enjoy what they've created, but it's obvious that they're still extremely sad and miserable people.

We had 8 class periods, lunch did not count in that. One day each week we had all 8 periods for about 45 minutes each, then the other four days were odds or evens for about 90 minutes each. Of course, after I think freshman (or maybe sophomore) year we could have off periods and I took full advantage of that. Well, maybe not totally full because I'm pretty sure I took more science classes than I needed to. I can't remember if you just had to meet all your credit requirements or if they also had a limit on how many off periods you were allowed.

Yeah, I've been reading about things people do and I see a lot of mentions of hardware monitoring, but I don't know if I really need that, seeing as I've gotten by without it before. Another one I see a lot is various types of web scraping, which is something I was already interested in but thought it would be too hard, but most of the posts I saw made it sound pretty easy.

It's "reliable" in the limited space where you can actually use it, and strictly for making calls. I'd rather take a phone that's a little less reliable but that I can use in many more places and do several other useful things with. It can also be used when the power is out because it has batteries. I mean, there's a reason everybody has cell phones now and younger people are skipping the home phone. But whatever you say gramps

Cell phone reception can be pretty shitty, I'll give you that, but I feel like your priorities are completely backwards. Or at least the landline phone should be at the bottom... internet and cell phone, I could see cases for putting them 1-2 in either order.

I can get email on my phone's data plan, and I'd need some kind of phone anyway if I wanted them to call me. So unless you only have a landline, which I'm not sure is even any cheaper, or you'll only pay for a $15 flip phone but not a $50 low-end smartphone, I don't really see how needing internet would be a problem here. Also there's a Starbucks or McDonald's with free wifi on like every other block.

I don't think I've gone through a single online app where you can leave off your email, and you rarely have a say in how they'll choose to contact you. It's pretty silly to take yourself out of a potentially great opportunity because you're too lazy to take care of your email/"prefer a phone call".

You seem to be missing the point here... who is emailing you? This shouldn't be a problem unless you give out your email really indiscriminately and/or have an extremely poor spam filter. I don't understand how that inbox could get to 50k emails, checking often or not. That's like 140 a day if you let it go for a year.

I don't know what kind of spam you get, but you can just unsub all that, if you're talking about official marketing email-type spam. If that's not what you're talking about, shouldn't it be getting filtered anyway and not an issue for your inbox? But there's no reason why you should be getting so much spam, regardless.

Plus you can make a new email for applying to jobs, it's not hard to make email addresses. I'd recommend Gmail, at least over stuff like AOL and Yahoo... those seem to get way more spam than Gmail inboxes, in my experience.

schedule an interview, but you can never get ahold of them again? This has happened to me like at least a half a dozen times. I don't get it, like am I doing something wrong? I'll usually leave a voicemail by the second attempt, and then give it maybe one or two more tries at most, but they never answer or call me back.

Video games, for sure. I buy games almost every week.

Do you play them, though? I wouldn't consider them a waste if that was the case. But I guess it's up to each person to decide what is a waste. From my perspective, I'd consider cigarettes to be a waste, but maybe certain people who smoke just view them as another thing they enjoy, just as people enjoy video games.

So not like a single purchase that you wasted a lot of money, but something like a subscription or a disposable habit.

I'd have to say food. Obviously I need food, so I justify it to myself that way, but I spend way more than I need to buying crap food. Soda in particular is a big waste, it's like $2 or more from most restaurants nowadays. At least I don't smoke, I guess.

Overall I don't think I have many other wastes. I stopped subscribing to stuff I barely use (XBL, Amazon Prime), and I don't drink as much beer or buy as many games that I'll probably never play just because they're on sale.

It's possible. That's why I would choose a Rogue like game. It could last longer. And you can stop when you get tired of it and pick it up again later when you're ready to play a game again...

Yeah but I'm not attached to any one game so strongly that I'd feel a reason to bother continuing with it. Or rather, maybe I'm attached to much more than one game, so rather than having to make that choice, I'd just give up the hobby entirely and do something better with my life.

Man, I'm kind of sick of this question. I mean, realistically I'd probably just stop playing video games entirely if I was faced with this possibility. I think there are two main schools of thought for this - either you pick a game with "infinite" content, or something that you can replay over and over, but that doesn't mean you can't get tired of them. If that's all that you have, I imagine most people would get tired of it rather quickly.
