What's up with the Twins sending Miguel Sano to Single-A? That's a thing teams do? You hear about Triple-A all the time, but that makes some sense. I guess he's getting #SanoRespect

I think Randal Grichuk got the same treatment last year.

The only negative is that he could use more self confidence

Babe Ruth would strike out 250 times this season and Walter Johnson would have a 6.66 ERA

Low key, I still think Babe Ruth would have been a good hitter. Maybe not a record breaker, but a lot of his talent came from the fact that he approached pitching differently than anybody around him. I give him the benefit of the doubt that he would be able to put up 30+ HR seasons.

What was it about the NHL that allowed video same numbers by Gretzky that couldn't be put up today? How'd the game change?

Better athletes, better equipment, better defense, strategies that emphasize restricting movement and cross ice passes.

Most hockey players in the 70s and 80s had a diet of beer and cigarettes.

Gretzky's records are untouchable because that video game NHL doesn't exist anymore. I think Lemieux was close--his point per game pace was within 0.1 of Gretzky, if I recall correctly--but health really messed him up.

Anyways, Lebron is the NBA GOAT. Fight me.

They've been pretty consistent with giving him playing time, so I was somewhat confident. Plus, if they were gonna give him a day off, I was going to guess they would sit him Tuesday, two days after his start.

Trout was fun to watch on the basepaths as well, even if he only got one steal late. I was also wondering how he weighed in at 235 before today, but holy hell, his legs are tree trunks.

I think that gives too much credit to Florida's GM. They traded away Jonathan Marchessault--a 30-goal scorer!--for the Knights to take Reilly Smith, whom they gave a $5 million contract to.

However, that definitely does hold water with guys like William Karlsson and Alex Tuch. I think there are a lot of explanations for it, and I don't think it can be repeated. Vegas took what they were given and made a really fun, competitive team out of it.

Oh, it's definitely cool! I think they'll be a playoff team for sure next year, too. I think what Vegas took advantage of was not a generous expansion draft, however. I think they took advantage of the fact that hockey GMs are dumb.

We only think the expansion draft is generous because they're in the finals. Everyone was saying that the Golden Knights were gonna be absolutely terrible at the start. This is just overreactionary, and it will all tide over when the Seattle expansion team loses 60 games.
