What the hell is a Progressive Conservative?

No real clue. That was the name of the Canadian Conservative party for a while too, before they flamed out in tremendously bad fashion, and a new conservative coalition came together as the blandly named Conservative party.

Fuck me, I have to deal with a few more months of Doug Ford campaigning, this time for Ontario. It means that we keep the same government (likely, as much as I hope the NDP wins), but he needs to go away.

Anyways, the Browns now need to use their first two picks on Saquon Barkley and Quentin Nelson, then pick Lamar Jackson 33rd.

My biggest fear is that the vikings will go all in on kirk, lose, and also lose on case/sam/teddy in free agency, and then be stuck without a good draft pick (like NYJ and Denver have) and be stuck right back in QB purgatory...Christian Ponder days all over again

This probably still nets you Lamar Jackson, at least. I wouldn't worry about it, because there are four very good QBs in this draft... and Josh Allen (who the Bills are going to draft to lose the job to Tyrod).

There are a few brands who are experimenting with commuter shorts. Shimano has released a line of commuting clothing meant to be stylish and comfortable. A bit pricey, but it looks decent. I haven't had a chance to try it. Mavic has some good mountain biking shorts, but they look like they were made to be on a bike. Sombrio's stuff looks interesting.

Usually though, if I'm commuting, I just bike in jeans or casual shorts.

Possible option: Saddle bag. Fits on the back of your seat, and isn't too intrusive. Just enough to fit your phone, wallet and keys.

Chewy, you should still get tight road cycling pants, they make me feel like stupid, sexy Flanders.

Seriously though, most mountain biking shorts will work. They're a bit more expensive, but will include padding. If you're biking for distance (15+ miles a day), they'll be a dream. Otherwise, I'm with Josh here, running shorts are sufficient.

Honestly though, you're better off changing your saddle if you're finding discomfort.

I'd like to think it is because since he runs pretty well, and hasn't caught a pass in a game, scouts want to see if he would be able to catch well for trick plays. However, I don't think that's the case and I have to agree with the statement that the scouts are dumb.

To that first point: until they ask all QBs to do that, I wouldn't begin to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I'll always take some cheap indie suggestions from Steam.

I meant to reply to this as well. I don't know how cheap any of these are at a given time (a lot of them sit in the $20 range) but you can wait for sales or whatever. But here's a list of indies I like off the top of my head:

Gameplay focused:

Shovel Knight
Enter the Gungeon
Cuphead
Bastion
Pyre

Narrative focused:

Life is Strange (broken record there)
Night in the Woods
What Remains of Edith Finch (this one is only 2-3 hours long so def wait for a sale)
Doki Doki Literature Club (free)
Dream Daddy isn't bad

And I know you've played Stardew Valley already. I feel like I'm missing some, but that's all that comes to mind at the moment.

Edit: Pyre actually could really go in either category of gameplay or narrative.

I had Doki Doki Literature Club spoiled for me and I'm still salty about it.

I have Bastion from an earlier sale and I should play through it.

Because if you want to punish tanking without being extreme, you have to be convoluted.

MNTwins1991 posted...
I heard somewhere that the NBA was also looking at adding MLB style 1 game play-ins for a real playoff slot. I guess the idea behind is that the more teams that are potentially in contention the less tanking there will be. I don't love this idea but I like it better than the one slurpee brought up

The NBA needs less playoff teams, though.

I'm not sure I follow. You're saying the team with the most wins after being eliminated gets a better pick?

Exactly this. And it's not like you can obviously tank, either. If you try to tank by coaching, wouldn't you just try to be a fringe playoff team if you have the talent to win after elimination*? If you drop all of your players, then you aren't gonna win after you get eliminated.

*I mean, yeah, being a fringe playoff team doesn't give you any advantages in the NBA.

I don't really understand it either way since official elimination happens very late in the season, even if a team obviously has no chance otherwise. Why base something around a sample size of like an eighth of a season?

Because it gives those who genuinely tried, but didn't have the talent a chance to guarantee themselves a high pick, rather than letting odds doing the work.

The perfect solution would be relegation, but nobody is gonna put that in place.

I'd pay loans, put some amount in a trust, buy a home, and then donate whatever's left. I've become less comfortable with the idea of having millions of dollars, which sounds ridiculous I admit, but it can be best used elsewhere.

Oh, and on the subject of tanking and draft lotteries, have you heard of the Gold Plan? Because it's perfect for anti-tanking. Simply, once a team is eliminated from the playoffs, a new set of standings is created for the teams eliminated. Teams are added only when they are out. Whoever is on top of these standings at the end of the season gets the first overall pick. It definitely doesn't work in the NFL (which is kind of immune to true tanking due to roster sizes), but I think the NHL and NBA should put it in place.
