I've never understood the idea that Democrats are cowards. It's more plausible that they're doing exactly what they intend.

That's 100% true of the likes of Chuck Schumer. I mean, he literally looked the other way and let the more conservative members of his caucus vote to water-down the Dodd-Frank regulations(which were inadequate to begin with). This would be hugely unpopular and a cudgel for Democrats to wield against Republicans, except Schumer, Manchin, McCaskill, etc. agree with the idea that Dodd-Frank was too "severe" in its handling of the industries which created the 2008 economic crisis and the resultant Great Recession.(And it was "conveniently" lost in the breathless reporting of Trump scandals 367-813)
Because, really, most of the media is controlled by moneyed interests.
The Republicans are irredeemable, but we're truly doomed if the Democratic Party remains a party where the likes of Chuck Schumer and Corey Booker are front-and-center.

The Germans would absolutely have imposed a harsh peace on the French(the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk they imposed on Lenin and the Russians is informative).
Austria-Hungary would probably survive long-term, but the Ottoman Empire probably wouldn't have been able to cope well with the rise of Arabic nationalism or the Saudis.

The criticism I have of Kaiserreich is that it's utterly fantastical to suppose the Germans would plunge themselves into basically every war they could find after a grinding, six-year struggle(yes, the Weltkrieg is LONGER in Kaiserreich). OTL Germany was on the verge of socio-economic collapse in 1918, which is why they launched a massive offensive in spring of that year: they needed to win, and soon. The French weren't any better off. The Imperial German regime wouldn't survive propping up White Russia, an extensive campaign in China in addition to occupying all the restive new territory they acquired.
Kaiserreich is fun, but definitely implausible in many ways.

I'm biased, of course, but I think Venusaur and Charizard each have strong cases.
Poor Blastoise is left in the cold, one of a billion bulky waters with mediocre offenses and no (good) recovery options. Plus, Gen 3 Kanto practically oozes with strong water types(Starmie, Slowbro, Tentacruel, Lapras, Vaporeon, and Poliwrath all bring plenty to the table.)
Meanwhile, the only fire-type that can hold a candle to Charizard is Arcanine/Ninetails(choose one, they're both worse). The only other competition is Magmar(moar liek Mehmar, m i rite?) and Flareon(lol).
And Gen 3 is a long way from the hey-day of the likes of Victreebell and Exeggcutor too. And a gen too soon for Tangela to be relevant. All while Venusaur was getting good.

Or donate. 100% of all proceeds go to Child's Play.
Playing is simple. All you have to do is tweet Gilgabot(@ff5forfutures) #reg for your first job.
So, how does this work?

FFV has a job system, and jobs are unlocked in groups(by the four crystals). When you register, Gilgabot assigns you a wind crystal job. Upon unlocking subsequent job sets, simply tweet Gilgabot #water, #fire, and #earth to get your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th jobs, respectively. You may only use the job(s) assigned to you!!! Additionally, you must have at least one of all unlocked classes in your party at all times. Characters may; however, freely use abilities from across all your classes(i.e. if you have Black Mage and Time Mage, the latter can equip the abilities of the former). You win by tweeting Gilgabot an image of your victory over the Evil Lord ExDeath in the Void. Some people also pledge bounties for the two post-game bosses: Omega and Shinryu. If you dare to challenge them and succeed, be sure to tweet Gilgabot proof of your victory as well!

There are also a few challenges, for the brave.
http://fourjobfiesta.com/help.php
Details there.

I just got to the Water Crystal, and my jobs so far are Black Mage and Berserker. I should be fine: Black Mage can carry you far all by itself.

The fruit was a parable for sex. Adam had sex with Eve. Then they realized they were naked and felt shame for what they had done.

What did the snake offer then?

The snake assured Eve that the fruit was good and would make her like God. She had some and found it to be good(at least initially), so she naturally offered it to Adam.
In Paradise Lost, Adam has a whole monologue where he agonizes over whether he should eat it, but he ultimately decides to do so because he doesn't want to be separated from Eve(IIRC).
In the Bible, God had promised to straight-up destroy them if they ate it, and of course doesn't. He doesn't even seem particularly surprised that they ultimately did eat it.
It's a metaphor for transitioning from childhood to adulthood, IMO.

It's true the experience is better spent elsewhere, but there are more considerations in play here, particularly getting Priscilla up and running. I mean, if you're that worried about it, you could always run Marcus down there naked, as suggested above, but that effectively means that Priscilla won't be getting much EXP until the next chapter. Plus, it's not very fun to keep playing the same map over and over again.

So I recently played the Secret of Mana remake.

It's nigh one-to-one mechanically, and it puts into stark clarity how borked mechanics in old games could be.

There's a fair amount of bork in FF7.

If they don't remove the bork, people will complain about it. If they do, people will also complain about it. This whole remake is a lose-lose situation sadly.

The graphics could use an update, and the script would definitely benefit from a better translation(informed by the original, of course).
Mechanically speaking, IIRC Magic Defense straight-up doesn't work(it does nothing), so they really ought to make it work or remove it(the game got along fine without it, after all). Everything could benefit from more clarity, which could be fixed with useful tool-tips. They could definitely stand to put in references to how to recruit Yuffie and Vincent(and make the former less awful). Just, like, have a NPC mention something about seeing some weird girl around, or rumors that there's something in the basement of Shinra mansion.
They could also completely revamp the entire business with chocobo breeding and racing.
Aside from that, add more sidequests(and make some of the existing ones more obvious).
That would all be fairly non-controversial, I think.

Qwilfish is a plain design that is difficult to obtain in its native gen and lost in the tide of of generic fish pokemon that followed. Sunkern and Sunflora are terrible and boring, but not in a way that is notable.

Gen 3: Wurmple
Oh hey. It's like Caterpie, just red and white instead of green and white! It doesn't help that its evos are also generic and forgettable. Everything else has something going for it or is a (terrible) meme.

This is a bit old, but it's great. Give it a read! Here are some choice quotes:
Molly Ball
I had a very hard time with that meeting, she(Nancy Hale) finally said. The longer the meeting went on, the more it started to feel to me like just another community that had isolated itself, and it was right and everybody else wasnt, you know? The hippies should have been her kind of people, but the attitudes theyd expressed had offended her sense of the way America ought to be. She had come seeking mutual understanding, only to find that some people were not the least bit interested in meeting in the middle. And now she was at a crossroads: Would she have to revise her whole worldview to account for this troubling reality?

A farmer in the group told Third Ways eager listeners he knew exactly what was wrong with America: his fellow Americans.

Youve got all these parasites making a living off the bureaucracy, the farmer declared, like leeches pulling you down, bleeding you dry. We had been in the state for just a few hours, and already the researchers quest for mutual understanding seemed to be hitting a snag.

Others in the group, a bunch of proudly curmudgeonly older white men, identified other culprits. There were plenty of jobs, a local elected official and business owner said. But todays young people were too lazy or drug-addled to do them.

Politics, though, was not the focus of the Third Way interviewers, who believed there was more to be gained by asking neutral, open-ended questions. In accordance with Third Ways ideology, they believed that political partisanship was not most peoples primary concern. But sometimes the Wisconsinites brought up politics anyway.

The men pinned the blame for most of their problems squarely on Republicans, from Trump to Governor Scott Walker. School funding, the minimum wage, college debt, income inequality, gerrymandering, health care, union rights: It was all, in their view, the GOPs fault. A member of the bricklayers union lamented Walkers cuts to public services: If we cant help each other, he said, what are we, a pack of wolveswe eat the weakest one? Its shameful.

Isnt this underwritten by the DNC? a local cafe owner asked Watson after his just-here-to-listen opening spiel. I read somewhere youre spending $20 million, another man said. Another participant asked about corporate donors.

Im not, like, a jumping-up-and-down Berniecrat, the man said. But what you see in these congressional meetings is a refusal to even play ball with ideas considered too extreme, like single-payer health care. All these centrist ideals, he said, are just perpetuating a broken system.

The report is short, covering only three big takeaways from the seven listening sessions Third Way conducted. The first is the importance of hard work; the second is the need for a strong workforce. The third, described in a section entitled Just Get the Hell Out of My Way, is locals purported antagonism to big government.

TL;DR: A bunch of centrist Democratic operatives tour Wisconsin, find that Wisconsites don't want to come together on nebulous "common principles", decide this all confirms their worldview any way. #TheResistance
