EXCUSE ME for trying to preserve the name he was given at birth. Not even his best friend Piglet calls him by his real name. its sickening IMHO.

So if one of your friend's introduces you to a new person and they say their name, are you demanding birth certificates, 2 forms of government issued ID's, and a genealogical map before you acquiesce and call them by their chosen name?

This is obviously rhetorical as you don't have any friends.<3

yeah, in a foreign country (ideally japan)

is it really that impossible, though?

The problem is the demand is high but the qualifications are general lower for foreign teachers. Unless you have a shit ton of credentials (a few degrees/teaching certification), you will probably be in an average paying job like the majority of the expat teachers.

I know some countries, depending on the schools, provide housing so that's one less worry. Standard of living is also pretty good for the income and it's easy to save money if you are smart about it.

Some countries have lax tax laws depending on the countries' relationship (Korea and America for example).

Looks like the school won't do anything about it. I guess they can't when they do this off campus.

http://www.wctv.tv/content/news/Leon-County-Schools-investigating-video-involving-Chiles-student-482184541.html

Dear Parents and Community Members,

Last night there was a video posted of a student who was shooting a BB gun out the window of his vehicle while making offensive racial comments. This video has quickly circulated around our community and city causing a great concern among our stakeholders and students.

Law enforcement was immediately involved and we worked together with them in the investigation. The investigation has concluded and we have taken the appropriate actions to address these students and their families. We also want you to know that there was no threat to our campus at any time. We are aware and understand the great concern from many of our parents that we have spoken to today in regards to this incident. Please know that the safety of your students, teachers, and staff is paramount to our daily operation.

We do not condone these actions and though they were made by Chiles students, it is not a reflection of our student body. We will continue to work with our students and our community to provide guidance to all students, especially those who would act in such an inappropriate manner. This incident should not overshadow the great work of our students, parents, teachers, and staff everyday.

Please feel free to reach out to my administration or me if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your understanding. Take care.

Bullshit. Students at my high school got expelled for actions off campus all the time.

I suspect that if they actually challenged that explusion through legal channels, then (assuming they weren't eg. wearing a campus uniform or something) they'd win their appeal. Most just don't bother.

The school could claim (as they should have) that the student posed a threat to black students.

I didn't say faculty would be running things, just helping out. And at least for my experience, campus groups need faculty advisers to be an approved group and hold things like that. So at the least there were some faculty members involved with those groups.

How much/how little they did is another thing entirely.

Vagina Monologues are almost entirely student ran with individual faculty helping out. It's not the college indoctrinating students.

My schools were pretty liberal and I had Christian conservative professors who would help with stuff that followed their political view. But I wouldn't see that as indoctrinating either.

I think some people just think of Liberal Arts as liberal-indoctrine in the political sense which is wrong.

Liberal Arts is just the idea that everything educational is connected. So you can major in a humanities but you are also going to need some science/math to balance it out along the way and vice-versa.

It's more about getting something of everything to make a more well rounded education rather than solely focusing on one discipline after you finish the pre-requisites.

Either style works differently for different people, but the hate liberal arts get is odd to me.

They are only good in relation to current late night talk shows, which don't seriously conduct interviews anymore. The interviews are basically sketch comedy now. He hasn't done one in a long ass time due to his Remotes going to other countries but check out Serious Jibber-Jabber.

He ditches the loud and crazy funny for a more subdued funny and really dives into the content his interviewee has done. So like with The Simpsons writers and Judd Apatow it's about the writing process. For the historians, it's comparing the time period they wrote about to today's climate.

It's seriously one of the best things he has ever done, including his time with Late Night.

And think about it - how fucking long were they there waiting for their friend if they were there long enough for the staff to inquire with them about ordering something, then the manager telling them to leave, then calling the cops, then waiting for the cops, then the cops talking to them, then the cops arresting them, THEN their friend shows up?

Yeah I'm suspicious as well, there's obviously more to the story but we're not being told what. The police are not in the wrong, they were just doing their job. But it makes sense if the bystanders do believe that the 2 guys did nothing wrong. The only one we really need to question is the manager.

We don't need to question the manager at all - if he asked them to leave, they should have left. End of story.

Uh yes, we do need to question the manager to see if it was justified or not. The managers words arent gospel you know.

Staff has the right to remove anyone not purchasing anything. If they told him they weren't leaving, it was DEFINITELY justified.

Company policy trumps manager and staff policies though.

when i was in korea, we chased it with beer (hite or cass) or chilsung cider

Just do what everyone else does. Pour a Soju shot into Hite/Cass.

Breaking Bad is an altogether better show.

But I like Better Call Saul's characters far more.
