Still Life 2 (PC)

Holy shit. I mean, Post Mortem and Still Life 1 were mystery adventure games. I didn't think this one would be any different. But goddamnit, it takes a page out of SAW with no less than 3 antagonists behind each other. 2009 was a good year for this game. It had some really innovative stuff like limited inventory, dynamic 3d environs. They improved the animation at least and its no longer as stilted as the first game.

But I have to say the cliffhanger from the first game was so not worth explaining here.

Still Life (PC)

Finally beat this bad boy. It was something of a childhood thing for me that I just never got over. I was initially going to tackle it first but then I found out it had a previous game, Post Mortem which I beat early this year.

Microids still at it with their slow ass pacing but thankfully not as slow as Syberia (I still don't get why people love that game, it really hasn't aged well) and thank god you can skip dialogue this time around.

I might as well not have finished it as a kid anyway, seeing as the thing ends in a glorious cliffhanger. Now I can finish this sequel for real now.

And with that, my Wolfenstein run is complete. The New Order hit the sweet spot here and tbh I miss the camp of the oldschool games. The Old Blood was a nice return to the Ghostapo roots but it was meh and The New Colossus was just terrible. What a terrible way to liberate America from the nazis after the hardship and seriousness of The New Order.

I have been meaning to go through that game after buying it long ago. First one is still my favorite mobile game.

The 2nd game is a bit longer but not by much. It's still got the same charms but the early levels were a bit too easy.

When you started there were no expectations to be had but now that you're a bit more established the expectations hold you back.

My advice is to write for other things. You need to fill up a pool of work so that you don't just have the one good or bad work, but a sea of them. So that when the time comes that you know how to write a really good one, the curve will be more significant.

Write for fun, for the self, for critique anything. Actually it doesn't have to be writing per se just any creative output you can muster.

I recommend it for anyone who wants some N64 Nostalgia however short the game was. The secret levels were awesome. I never expected anyone to actually make a Terranigma reference at that. Who even knows that game exists?

EDIT2: You don't need to know how the game works in case you're wondering. The finishing move is basically Kaiji reading his enemy's psychology and expecting what he would do. Then acts accordingly.

If you wanna know why he's bleeding, it's because the game uses Milimeters as a betting mechanic. Every game you lose, a tiny drill bores itself into Kaiji's ear by the millimeter.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate + Jack the Ripper DLC (PC)

Ever since I started AC2 waaaay back in 201?, I have FINALLY caught up with the series or at least put my foot in the door. I would've done it earlier, but my graphics card stood as a roadblock and I couldn't play Unity until last year.

That said, I'm probably in the very minority here but I very much still preferred Unity to this, however flawed both games are. What's even worse is, the DLC was better than the main game whereby it improved everything even side missions, and made the series as dark as what Victorian London should've been. Leave it to Ubi to squander opportunities like this all for the sake of ease of gameplay.

Except for Pokemon (which I guess is like a cheat song in itself), I found it real refreshing. I'm not so much an anime guy as much as I just like to hear different kinds of music so it's been a ride updating my playlist for this year.

3. What song would you say surprised you the most in the rankings.
Well aside from some of my picks which I expected would go out in reverse order, I was really surprised how good Death Parade - Flyers was.

4. What song would you say disappointed you the most in the rankings.
I'm not really a champion for bad songs unless they're something I've outgrown or were just intentionally bad, but I would say some of the 50s deserved lower and some of the bottom ranks deserved a higher boost for being more unique.

5. If you had to guess a top 5 what would they have been.
I would probably just swap out Pokemon for maybe... Hikaru Nara
