Why is music, movies, comics, videogames all OK to have such effort put into but not sports?

Legitimately wondering.

I didn't say those were okay to have such resources dedicated to them. The difference being that sports suck up tax dollars and school budgets. Those things shouldn't have tax dollars dedicated to them. Also, sports (and "entertainment") take up time on the "news". They really shouldn't. It's a distraction.

People trying to blame this on higher minimum wage need to shut the fuck up. The price of technology is constantly decreasing. You could keep minimum wage at $7.25 and technology would still win out, if not now then in the near future. Meanwhile prices are increasing as wages do not keep pace. Do you think they should reduce minimum wage to compete against technology? Let's pay worker $1 an hour to compete! Don't be silly.

Free DLC was rare on the 360. Epic, a major partner, had to beg Microsoft to let them "sponsor" a free map for Gears of War.

Microsoft was the publisher for that game though. You made it sound like you were talking about third parties.

The same policy applied to third-parties. If they wanted to release free content, it'd be considered a "patch". After the first patch, the developers have to pay a substantial sum. Also, a patch couldn't exceed a certain size (and it was a very restrictive size) in order to fit on the memory card for Xbox 360s that didn't have a hard drive. This restriction didn't exist for paid DLC.

I assume if Microsoft let them upload all of that for free on their servers they would be eating a ton of cost. The companies had the option to not charge for their DLC though as long as MS wasn't the publisher of the game. But to assert MS should host their stuff for free is a little crazy.

Also, restricting data size of DLC was more consumer friendly than anything. Not only for bandwidth but if you happened to buy the cheaper versions of the hardware you weren't 100% fucked when it comes to DLC. Now we have 100 gig game downloads, but back then was different.

Bandwidth was cheap, even back then, and certainly later into the generation. Companies did NOT have the option to not charge for their DLC. I already explained this. Here is a link to proof (Left 4 Dead on Xbox 360 was NOT published by Microsoft and was NOT developed by them either, obvious, so it's absolutely a third-party game):
http://www.shacknews.com/article/60365/microsoft-forces-valve-to-price

The first DLC either falls under the first free "patch" or was a special case. Microsoft forced everyone to charge for DLC. The restrictions on data size of patches (not DLC. Come on, work on your reading comprehension skills) was entirely due to Microsoft stupidly making the hard drive not a standard so they could hawk the Core and Arcade versions of the 360, all so they could claim a smaller initial cost (but of cost it'd end up being more expensive in the long run). The restrictions went away as they phase out those models.

No, it's because of how much filler carbs are in so many of the foods there. Try eating greasy meat by itself. Now try eating it with bread. You can eat more with bread as it'll take longer for you to tire of the meal. The demonization of fat means tons of sugar and other filler carbs in order to achieve fat-free foods with some flavor. It's hard to feel full on carbs.

This. The sugar and grain producing industry did a great propoganda job in the 50's. People are still treating carbs as things we should be eating on the regular.

Yeah man all of today's top health organizations, doctors, and scientists are still fooled by 50's propaganda. You're definitely not falling for podcast meme diet propaganda.

Oats, fruits, beans, and vegetables should not be eaten on the regular.

No one is referring to those foods when talking about carbs as a problem. Are you a shill for the sugar industry? Your argument is as disingenuous as one a shill would make.

Yes. They are. It's already been proven to you in this topic. So perhaps you're the shill? The idea that most of us should be on a keto diet is very popular at the moment. Especially to those that quote the 50's propaganda.

What if I went around demonizing fat? Then when I'm confronted, I throw up my arms and say I was obviously talking about trans fat. Just say what you mean and stop assuming you know the current narrative and that people will know what you're talking about.

I've already elaborated on what I meant multiple times. There's no need to be so upset.

The only people that complain about carbs are the kind of people that want to be in shape without actually exercising.

Plus, imagine thinking that smoothies and yogurt and granola are bad for you lololol.

Pay attention to the amount of sugar commonly found in those. With that much sugar, they totally are bad for you.

It depends on the type of carbs. Sugars wont fill you up. Complex carbs and fiber will.

They're not exactly loading their food with fiber.

I saw a dragonquest one once where the hero's wife is kidnapped by the villain (who is some horse monster, I never got into the series so I don't know what game it is) and the villain turns her into a sex slave while the hero is slowly making his way to the stronghold. by the time he gets there, the hero sees his wife and then I can't remember but i think he kills himself. and then the villain gets tired of the wife cause she is no longer appealing to him. so he hands her over to his minions who abuse her for the rest of her life.

That's nothing. There's one I skimmed that was really fucking brutal. In it, the king of the elves gives his daughter to some human king in order to broker peace. The human king takes her, then rapes her doing some heinous shit to the point of breaking her mentally, and uses her to figure out the secret location of the elves. He then proceeds to invade and take all the female elves to use as sex slaves for his kingdom (including public rape). The king of the elves is show with deep anguish on his face and he's beheaded. I had to take a break after seeing that.
