When your country has a history of getting fucked in the ass by imperialist overlords and the abuse only stopped when you finally shot back, you'd have to be severely misguided if you ever become anti-gun.

YEs, it's outdated because it stopped your candidate from being forced through by a few major population centers. Guess what, the people who don't live in NYC or California count just as much.

Im not American but the beauty of democracy is that each person gets one vote and they are all worth equally much. But your Electoral College-system twists that. Im glad my country doesnt use an EC system even though it would greatly benefit my preferred party.

The US has never been a direct democracy. It is a federation of semi-sovereign states, and federal elections are structured to keep it as such, even when it comes to electing the president.

To be fair, the King James version is rather inaccurate to the source material so it's barely the Bible.

There are multiple opinions on what is regarded as the original source material (Byzantine/Majority text; the Alexandrian codices Sinaiticus and Vaticanus, both originating from the city regarded as the hotbed of gnosticism; or the collection of manuscripts known as Textus Receptus).

The expression "on paper" belongs on paper, well on its way to the shredder, into the dustbin and out the door.

You can't really believe that capitalism is perfect, because it isn't

Sure it isn't

I'd still much much rather live in a capitalist country than a communist one

Except, you know, every single country out there mixes polices from both at varying degrees. On top of that, what we have in the West is barely capitalism, as most products and services are owned by a very small oligarchy of hereditary companies.

Capitalism trends toward oligarchical and monopoly power as capital accumulates. The "free market" doesn't exist as some ideal equilibrium that can just be captured with the right political policy. Political policy follows the underlying economic structure, not vice versa.

Communism will always follow the same path because the average worker either doesn't know how to or can't be bothered with participating in decisions in regards to resource management, so they will invariably leave those duties to the few that are willing to make those decisions, effectively reestablishing the hierarchy that they sought to abolish in the first place.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v%2E_Wong_Kim_Ark

That's the decision that revised the accepted meaning into what we have today. Trump is obviously attempting to bait the courts to return to the meaning previously established by Elk v. Wilkins which stated that the parents could only have allegiance to America and no one else for their children to granted citizenship.

Nobody needs more than 200hp, 15 gallons of fuel, 17 inch wheels, or holds more than 6 passengers. Let's arbitrarily ban vehicles that exceed any of these arbitrary characteristics. If you want to have any of these features, you'll need a special license that is very expensive, almost impossible to get, and takes a prohibitive amount of time to process. And if you want a vehicle that can go 0-60mph in less than 8 seconds, not only do you have to get the above license, it cannot have a model year later than 1986.

Most common water filters are actually pretty useless. People buy them thinking they'll filter out stuff like lead and fluoride but they don't. At best they'll filter out visible particles.

Distilled water and reverse-osmosis filtered water is the closest to pure you can get.

Why would you want it that pure anyways? Many minerals in water and the flouride in small amounts is actually good for you.

There's no need to drink fluoride as swishing with tap water achieves the same intended effect, and the amount of minerals in tap water is far too inconsequential to confer any possible health benefits, but the contamination that could not be removed (trace heavy metals, unmetabolized prescription drugs) could cause deleterious effects through chronic ingestion.

Cept that there are studies that show that distilled water will leech the plastic from the container if left too long, and there might be issues with it leeching minerals from your body since it is missing so many.

Most "studies" on distilled water are pure hogwash perpetrated by the quack Dr. Mercola. The only thing that's true about distilled water is that it obviously cannot replenish lost electrolytes (but tap water is just as ineffective).

Because all of the changes proposed by so-called "experts," often bought and paid for by anti-gun groups such as Everytown and the Brady Campaign, are feel-good measures meant to slowly whittle down the rights of John Q. They do not even come remotely close to even touching the root of the gun violence problem because if they did, they could no longer use the excuse of "well that didn't work as well as we thought it would. Luckily, we can try implementing this new suggestion made by our experts to solve the problem" ad nauseam.

You act like we've tried them. We haven't. It's delusional to think people who are purposing things that could curb mass shootings would be upset if mass shootings were reduced because their "true motive" is taking away rights from John Q public.
