WoL is an absolutely incredible experience though.

Not every extra zone. I think there are 3 specific areas you need to get into. They all end with a boss fight.

I would just like to chime in to say that, in the absence of further context, I actually agree with Chris on the argument that Strongman shouldn't be an every game role. His perspective on it is obviously selfish and biased as hell, but in spite of that I think the "It's bad because it has no risk and requires no thought or interaction, so it shouldn't be in every goddamn game" argument is fundamentally sound

I didn't read a word of the game (or even know there was a game going on, all hail flair filters), but I saw this topic.

can still be tracked/watched/etc. To say there is no risk in a scum action is a lie.

Also, a good thing I hope people take away from our scumteam this game:

don't panic. We were on the ropes basically every single day and we basically got out of it every time we needed to. Stay calm, stick to your guns and don't give up until the day is over.

Or in Scare's case, the day after you've made your trade, in which case the correct play is to absolutely say nothing.

The easiest way to lose all credibility is to stop playing. So just keep town talking til something rubs them the wrong way and they move somewhere else.

Also I come back mostly to help or for very fun games but the selfish paradigm I have embraced is things need to be fun. How do you think any player had fun dying night 1 all the time because hosts rely on crutches in order to host. This is a multi level critique because excuse me wanting to actually play but also as one of the more thoughtful hosts strongman just isnt elegant.

again, banning a balanced role isn't somehting you do because one person keeps dying.

Its an issue of "this needs to stop being in every game" moreso than an issue of "this role needs to be banned".

And one thing I really need to stress because scanners really screwed it up this game. You have to scan the people you arent sure of. Don't scan the people you think are scum. Don't scan the people you think are town. Scan the people you dont have the slightest clue on.

Basically, when you do that, in the future you have no rapport with town. You trust chris is town, town trusts you that chris is town maybe.

but with no chris, does town still trust you are town? nope.

you are now met with skepticism the rest of the game, even if they are leaning town you could have done better.

Full engagement is way better than the half-effort you gave there.

my advice, convince other people to actually play. You had to die this game not because of being right, but because town simply wasn't playing. Its not doing b8 any good to "sheep chris" as you saw from how the rest of the game went. Day 1 was frustrating because town was literally not playing. There was no reason to engage any of them because they werent engaging period.

Same goes for town roles(Doc+Bodyguard+town roleblocker is getting a little ridiculous guys. Seriously, its triple protection from nightkills).

also banning strongman is dumb. Roles are banned/etc for game balance. Silencer isn't balanced. It removes the ability to talk and vote. Its essentially +1 scum among a host of other issues like basically not allowing a living player to play.

Nothing about strongman broke the game. In fact, had town simply used its powers correctly(So many used on obvious scum), used lynched correctly on 50/50s even once, the game was an easy town win. Town lost because of their own play, not because of any broken role.
