My friends say I should try a wig first, so I looked for some wigs, but they all look pretty bad, at least the ones I found in light blue (which I guess are mainly used for Rick halloween costumes).

Light blue is my favorite color and i usually make my characters have light blue hair. I would love to have it in real life. I did some research online, watched some videos etc, and man, it does not look easy at all, especially for a guy, cause girls are used to using products on their hair etc. I have pretty much always used Shampoo and conditioner (generally strawberry flavored...er...scented...I don't actually taste it) and that is it.

My wife used to get her hair dyed red all the time, and I know it was expensive, and usually took 3-4 hours. I could even try and find the girl that used to do her hair, we spent a ton of time chatting with her. She would be sad to hear Linda passed away if she is still working there). Anyway, if she was still around I could ask her, but honestly I don't know who to ask about it. None of my friends (even the female ones) have dyed their hair, so other then the advice to try a wig, that was all I got.

Anyone dye their hair regularly? Especially any guys? The vids/tutorials etc list some horror stories about bleaching your hair, and it never going flat again, chemical burns on your neck, color going away in a week or 2 if you swim in a pool etc. Seriously it's enough to make you just throw up your hands and give up.

Yeah, super healing, even if it only halved aging would still be the best by far (your body would still in theory age on days you don't heal, and then not age at all on days you do....but unless it reversed all aging, it wouldn't reverse the aging you did on an off day.)

Even so, that would not only mean you would live twice as long as you would of from the day you got the power, but you would be young and healthy for most of it. If you got the power at age 30, you could live another 120 years, and still be young and in shape for at least 50-60 of them (as you would be as healthy as possible for a 60 year old after 60 more years).

If you ditch the healing one all together, invisibility doesn't have a strong enough downside. Money is, in most cases, the most powerful superpower as it just basically makes your life super easy and you can do whatever you want. While personally I find that sad, it's the truth.

While you might be able to get rich with the shape shifting power, and in theory you could fly that way, swim under water, and tons of other cool things. There restrictions prevent you from many of the most fun uses!! It would certainly be more work to get rich with shapeshifting powers.

With invisibility you could get quite rich even without doing anything illegal (although cheating is ethically wrong). You would not have to be invisible long to become mega-wealthy, and then never use the ability again.

That aside, of the options, I'm gonna go with shape shifting (if Healing is taken off the table). Why? Because it offers the most cool uses, without any negative penalties. There is some danger involved (if your flying and suddenly feel pain for instance) you could fall and die (if the pain didn't go away in time). If you turn into something that can survive underwater and extreme pressure, and then get hurt...boom dead etc.

Even so, you could still experience flight over water etc, so if you did fall, you wouldn't die. Also, in theory, shapeshifting would allow you to heal in a way, since you would revert into your normal form. So shapeshift just slightly all of the time, and any damage you take, will go away when you get hurt (are in pain) and boom, you are healed.

Shapeshifting might even prevent you from aging as well, as long as you are in a shifted form most of the time, and no time limit was mentioned, other then not being hungry/thirsty, in pain or aroused. You could easily prevent all of that (especially in a shapes shifted form that is hard to damage, and doesn't have sexual organs). With the ability to shift into any form, you can control how often you get hungry/thirsty, aroused, and heck in theory you could even remove most nerve endings so it's very hard for you to be in pain even......removing almost all of the negatives.

Nah, you can ask alot and get alot of answers in 13 seconds. It's really not that fast. You can ask most questions and get the answer and rewind time before you even asked the question. No pausing at all, you just don't start the actual conversation till you have already had the first 13 seconds of it 30 times or so (so half a minute later).

More importantly, you can see the reactions to questions, or statements you make. In fact, you can even do so without the other person ever knowing you were there if you wanted (for example your sitting at a table behind them, and just keep using 13 seconds to quickly ask a question etc.).

That doesn't even factor in all the things you can find out by just forcing it in 13 seconds (grab someones purse/wallet and look through it, then rewind time before you did any of that (but you still have the info) etc.

You can also keep trying to pick pocket or steal things, and only actually do it if you get away with it etc.

Also with such power you could simulate tons of other powers, and make people think you have them. You could pretend to be able to read minds for instance, to be able to see through objects etc. You can also cheat and use things like google etc to answer any question google could answer in 13 seconds lol...by just blatantly pulling out your cell phone and googling the answer, then rewinding to before you did that (easy win on Jepordy unless they confiscate phones lol).

2 minutes though would almost require you to save the ability until 2 minutes till midnight, so you would have another 2 minutes right away to use in an emergency. So you would always have to do your gambling in the last 2 minutes (24 hour casino's). it could still work and you would still end up rich, but yeah, unlimited 13 seconds is way better.

In most situations, being able to reverse time 13 seconds will protect you from any serious injury or death etc, your largest danger actually is doing something different after reversing time 13 seconds, that causes you to die faster (in that 13 seconds) since you are powerless at that point.

If you wanted to kill someone for instance, with this power, set a trap where if they move they will die, wait 13 seconds after the trap is turned on etc, and then shoot them. If they reverse time and move, they die..and can't reverse time again.

Still as long as nobody knows you have the power (which would only happen if you told someone), you are almost impossible to kill. Large scale disasters though, nukes, earthquakes, bombs etc....could still basically kill you.

Then again, enough money makes you very hard to kill anyway, and you can get the money easily with either method. The ability to redo things, re-experience things etc, unlimited times though, that is the true gold of the 13 second ability. It actually lets you basically get 13 seconds for every 1 real second. So you could spend 4 hours practicing a song and it will seem like you mastered it in 20 minutes. It's basically groundhogs day, but in VERY short intervals and without being stuck in an endless loop.

In fact, 13 seconds is kind of a safety measure, as longer time periods, without being able to use it again (thus going back in time eventually) until you catch back up till when you used it, could easily lead to death (since one small change by you, could lead to your death in many ways if you jumped back 30 minutes for instance).

It all boils down to if you believe every human being is entitled to an equal share of this planet. We have basically tamed the planet and humanity as a whole, owns it.

If each human being deserves a percentage of the output of the planet, and all of us need to share the work needed to cultivate it equally, then yes, we should also all be entitled to health care as long as we do our part.

That of course is not the way the world works, or even close. If we controlled our population growth though, and restricted the total number of humans on this planet to about 1/2 as many as we currently have. Focused our technological advances on reducing the amount of work humans as a whole need to do, and split the remaining work between the number of humans left, we would all probably need to work about 2 days a week or so probably, maybe 3 at first, and eventually possibly only 1 with enough automation and increased technology.

As long as we didn't continue to increase our population and developed alternative energy sources etc, everyone could live like kings. More work/specialized jobs would be available, but optional.

But yes, if we wanted to, we could totally afford to pay for universal healthcare and free education as well. Probably wouldn't even cost anything more if we just cut out all the tax loopholes and breaks that are currently being taken advantage of, along with the extreme reduction in emergency services that would cost. As far as free education, most of the "cost" of education is actually profit for someone. If students only got charged the cost to pay for professors/teachers, and they split it evenly among the class, the cost would be super cheap. Free education just means someone doesn't get rich of you.

Both would allow you to become insanely rich.

The 2 minute one has some serious applications, but....13 seconds is a long time. There is alot you could do with that.

Also, a 13 second cooldown isn't actually that bad, since you can basically use it as soon as ANYTHING interesting starts happening, positioning yourself to the best effect, then keep doing so over and over as the seconds go by (walking through second by second for optimum results.

Say there is a car crash, as SOON as it starts, you use it, moving 13 seconds back, allowing yourself to pull to the side way before the accident even happens but....even if for some reason the accident still affects you, you can move back again to 1 second after the crash started (and you moved back the first time) and keep doing that again and again every 1 second later, till you avoided damage all together.

Basically as long as there is ANY possible outcome that would work, you could find it.

Same could go with conversations with people etc, you could basically keep reversing time, and even use those 13 seconds to shape your answers as you go. You would have tons of wealth, tons of ways to get info to trade with etc, but never actually have to spend anything, as after the trade, you reverse time and already have the information.

Bards have been able to cast healing and offensive magic pretty much always. In 5e it gets a bit crazy with Lore bards quite possibly being better healers then pure clerics.

There is a feat for other characters that let them get at least healing cantrips as well.

Healing magic is quite good/useful, but illusion? Might as well go with a different school that actually can change things, allow you to fly, protect you from harm, create or summon things etc. Illusion has it's uses but if your already using up a slot for healing, you might as well get something that really makes a diff with your other school.

My uncle does it, he says the key is to lease a hybrid car so you have very good gas milage. It costs him about $400 a month, but almost nothing in gas so the driving is pure profit.

He drives in SF and makes about $30 an hour average.

Now he does lose about $100 a week towards his car, but he has a brand new car this way, and uses it himself, so it's not really a bad deal and he makes up most of that in gas.

SF may also be a way higher rate of pay, since it's so hard to park and many people want to get around. Tipping is also normal. Not everyone does it, but enough do to increase your base.

This the base is about $20, then subrtract gas and add tips (per hour that is).

If you can get your gas to be under a $1 an hour with a hybrid, then it's 20-40$ depending on tips and how many people you pick up/drop off.

Things can go one of two ways in the future.

Either we may get an administration that erases all student debt and works towards free tuition.

Or eventually there will be stricter rules and penalties for not paying back your loans. They already can take quite a bit, as it's fed min wage, not local min wage that they can reduce you to. There are quite a few people who end up working under the table because of that (a $10 an hour under the table job pays more then a $15 one where you pay taxes and your wages are garnished for instance).

Real problem though is the fact that so many people have insanely high loans at this point due to not even covering the interest on them over many years. People with $80k in student debt originally have over $200k now, with monthly payments recommended over $2000 a month lol.

Current situation is not viable long term. Debt even if no more loans were given out, is increasing steadily instead of going down. Right now you can sign up for income based repayment plans and as long as you are making less then about 15-20k a year, pay nothing or almost nothing (depending on your marital status etc). You can do that indefinately and well, because many people go to college then find out they are going to be paid $30k as a teacher for the first 5 years before getting any kind of raise, they just do the income based repayment plan.

No big deal right? Just start paying it off later once you actually make enough to rent a one bedroom apartment.

Wrong, you gain interest all that time, and if you reconsolidate or a bunch of other options, your interest gets added into your principle, meaning you now pay interest on all of it. That is how someone can go from 80k in debt to 200k in debt. I have seen it happen.

System is crazy right now....great way to make money off people, but...many are just giving up because of that and never expect to pay off their loans.

I have been volunteering lately, and have a few friends who want to as well. I am thinking of starting an organization called VOLT that will organize and matchmake volunteers with people that need them.

Currently working/helping with tutoring, moving, cooking/shopping (elderly and disabled) and general repair. Looking to expand though and include specialized skills (one friend is in construction, another is a plumber etc).

The idea is to get people from various skilled fields that can volunteer to help those who can't afford to pay for the work. It would be a non-profit, non-monetary organization. I don't want any money changing hands.

I do have some attorney friends in California from back in the day when we ran a law office, so that is probably the next step. I don't want to be liable for anything if I set this up. I could I guess set it up in someone elses name and just run it (someone who has no assets etc, so they couldn't be sued for anything).

There are a few volunteer programs that i already work with that could work really well in combo (referring people with those needs, such as reading buddies etc for children struggling to read etc).

Has anyone on here run/'setup/worked with an organization like this and have any advice? Think I could make a difference in the area, but don't want to open myself up to drama/legal action etc in the process. So sad when trying to help people can actually end up hurting you if your not careful!!

People make a living doing this.

Technically your not supposed to do it that often. I believe there is a restriction to once a month in most other countries.

Here it varies from center to center but for instance in olympia, there is 3 centers.

They all have similar rates. It goes something like this:

First time you donate a week you get $40, second time you get $60 a few let you do a third, but you only get $40.

So some people donate to all 3, basically donating every day. This lets them get 40$/60$/40$/$60/$40/$60/$40 or a net $340 a week (about $1400 a month).

That isn't all they make though because.....each of them offers a bonus $100 if you get a new person to sign up, and donate twice.

So...some people basically put adds on craigslist etc, offering an extra $50 to anyone who signs up and donates plasma twice. There is no limit on the number of times you can get that bonus.....but it's pretty easy to at least get 1 new person a week if you try. That nets you about $1600 a month without much effort and spending about an hour a day.

Not sure if it's taxed as I have not done it myself, not even sure if they pay cash or what, but I think many of the people doing it wouldn't have a way to cash a check, maybe they give them a card with money on it or something. Anyway, if it's tax free, that is actually quite a bit more then minimum wage lol.....and you "work" like 7 hours a week.

I am a purist and don't like to put much of anything on my pizza, although for some reason I have always liked pepporoni on it.

Better the pizza, less likely I am to get pepporoni though. The best pizza..........it's so good anything put on top of the cheese is a sin.

It is so hard to get pizza that good sigh. I would have to drive 850 miles just to find a place that good (That I know of).

Still there are a few places around me that I often get just cheese pizza...because the cheese is good enough, and the sauce is good enough, that pepporoni just takes away from the flavor.

Anyway, that is why I don't like steak on my pizza. It has too strong of a flavor of it's own, and detracts from the cheese/sauce.

You would imagine pepporoni would as well, but...it actually adds a spicey ness, and quite often I eat the pepporni off the top, and just have the juices left to flavor the pizza. It's' good in case the pizza on it's own isn't anything to write home about. Basically masks a bland pizza with inferior cheese.

I always get pepporoni from Pizza hut or Domino's for instance (not that I have had either in over a year).

Meanwhile Old School Pizza in Olympia, I always get just cheese (With extra cheese as thin crust as possible). It's a good NY pizza substitute.

If you look at alternative uses for steak, soups, stir fry, chineese dishes (brocolli beef/mongolian beef etc), then yeah, steak wins pretty easy honestly.

It also makes many other foods, just so much better.

Best brocolli for me is slightly over cooked with steak juices mixed in, or brocolli beef (sauce from the beef mixed in with the brocolli and then use the rice to mop up whats left).

Steak and lamb in my opinion makes the best meat for a stir fry as well, and, while I make many good chicken soups, beef based soups are usually my favorite by far).

Pizza is my favorite individual dish probably, my favorite combination of items into 1 thing. Steak though is my favorite ingredient I would say...I like more dishes that involve steak, then anything else.

Pizza hut is meh, like their crust, but not their cheese.

NY Vinnies is where I go now, so good, and so cheap....god it's good. I mean....I'm trying to diet, and was not eating pizza, but....I end up eating it probably twice a week as it's $6 for a large pepporoni and it's better then places that charge $30 for it (looking at you Round Table).

Also quite a few of the chicks working there are super hot as well...always a bonus.

I came into this topic hoping to see some new dice I could totally get to show all my DND friends this sunday. Those don't look special at all:(

My friends have metal dice, dice that glow and flash when you roll a 20, giant dice etc.

I have tons of normal dice, in lotsa cool colers (including lava looking ones etc), but nothing really special.

Honestly though, I don't tend to waste money on looks etc, which is why I just have normal dice right now. I had a temp moment of insanity where I would have bought some cool dice...but it has passed now, so thank you for saving me from myself.

On this topic....how is it more people don't shoplift or dine and dash?

I mean, seriously, security in most places is absolutely pointless, and heck in most grocery stores you could walk around and eat food from the store, and leave without any evidence of shop lifting.

As far as I know this doesn't happen much (certainly have never noticed it myself), but take safeway for
example where I shop all the time. I have, many times, drank some or most of a drink before paying for it and it's considered totally normal. I see people eating on the tables by starbucks all the time as well, and god knows it's hard to get ANYONE from the deli section to pay attention to you even if you jump up and down, wave a flag, have a loudspeaker stating you have been waiting 15 minutes already and have actual tentacles coming out of your head.

So I highly doubt they are paying attention to if people pay for the food from the bars (Fried chicken etc), and just go sit down by starbucks and eat it.

And that is grocery stores...which at least have some security measures.....most places you eat? What stops someone from getting up and heading to the bathroom, then just leaving afterwards etc? Park a block away, and then run to your car (around a corner so the license can't be seen) and take off.

Seriously, how does this not happen way more often then it does?

By the age of 3 I was taking care of my brother by myself. I almost killed him many times until he got put in the system when I was 10 and he was 8 (made a game that involved jumping over a chair and he bashed his head in, had us sled down a hill in the middle of putney Vermont, directly into a car on the bottom etc).

Didn't basically have parents...so home alone was the norm.

Lump sum pays more if you invest your money at all, although taxes does hurt that a bit. There are ways to invest though that avoid taxes until you cash it in.

That being said.

$500 mill in most cases is going to get cut one way or enough in half for taxes (just right away or over a long period).

If you take a lump sum, that cuts it in half again.

So you go from $500 mill to $125 mill or so after taxes.

Thing is, you can hire someone to buy/sell homes, flip them etc, and make you a steady income with that money, no work for you at all, but you'll still net at LEAST 10% interest a year (probably even after taxes.

Which means you would double your initial investement (and have as much as if you took the payments option) within 8 years or so. You can continue to do that, and by the time you actually get to the end of the payment setup...you would have well over 2x a much total money as you would have obtained from the payments all together (of which you would have spent much of).

Real estate is hard work if you don't have much money and are trying to milk it for as much as possible initially etc, but...if your just the backer, it can be pretty easy pure profit. Way better then investing in the stock market etc.
