Honestly everything I've seen makes it look fundamentally like every one of those genero open world spiderman games we got for like a decade or more before this. With a dash of arkham because of course.

The more I play the more I find that it feels a lot like the ASM games. To be fair I enjoyed those, yet everyone acts like they were awful while this game is somehow amazing?

I'm a few hours in now and yeah... it plays like literally every Spider-Man game. It's fun for sure, but I'm not exactly wowed or anything. It's just another Spidey game.

The ripping off of Arkham is a little heavy handed. The combat plays exactly like Arkham. You have a detective mode exactly like Arkham. The insta takedown moves in combat are exactly like Arkham (same button prompt and everything). Arkham was great, but ffs I want something new.

Also, "side quests" are incredibly generic open world fare. "Go to the towers to fill out the map." Wow, I haven't seen that in literally every other open world game ever. Can devs not think of anything original for stuff like this?

The swinging is fun and I like how it's very momentum based. You can get some crazy speed going once you get the flow. That being said, I don't find it to be very deep. It's not really better or worse than previous games. It's fun though.

The graphics are very good, almost too good. What I mean by that is there are times where I'm swinging and the sunlight is so bright and realistic that I can't see where I'm going. From a visual standpoint it's great, but from a gameplay standpoint it's kinda annoying. I know that's kind of a weird thing to complain about.

The humor is pretty dead on and very in character for Spidey. I actually chuckled at how Peter kept going on about Spider-Cop while Yuri groaned the whole time. From what I've seen so far the writers seem to understand the character very well.

Overall I'm not super impressed. The game is fun, but it's nothing you haven't seen before. I wasn't really on the hype train for it, so I was hoping it would maybe surprise me and be awesome. However, it's exactly what I thought it would be: just another Spider-Man game. If you like Spider-Man, you'll enjoy it.

In my opinion season 1 should have focused on Danny's time in K'un-Lun and his struggle to integrate into their society. The season would end with him becoming the Iron Fist. Save his return to America for season 2.

But of course they had to skip all the K'un-Lun stuff so they could rush to the Defenders and Danny's character suffered because of that.

basically people had a problem not because they thought he was Asian, but because it was the perfect opportunity for them to showcase THE HALF WHITE HALF ASIAN MARTIAL ARTIST ACTOR WHO WAS HIRED ONTO THE SHOW TO ACT but instead they went with a scrawny white guy who can't do martial arts

The white-bias was too transparent, and THAT is the REAL race issue with Iron Fist

You see, thing is, I don't really give a shit what race Danny is because his skin color is completely irrelevant to the plot. And there totally were people who thought he should be Asian just because he's a martial artist, which is blatantly racist. If they had made him Asian then whatever but it really wouldn't have changed anything.

I thought the double gear system would make the game too easy, but the level design seems pretty well balanced around it. The stage in the demo has some pretty challenging parts in it. Block Man makes for a pretty good fight. He actually kicked my ass on the first go. I have a feeling the full game is gonna be great

Also I'll say that I didn't find the show to be terrible, but just mediocre. I mean, it held my interest enough to watch it all the way through at least. If anything I liked it more than Defenders which was just garbage.

Then I watched it and I was really confused as to what those articles we're going on about. Of all the things the show did wrong; race had nothing to do with any of it. In fact, nobody's race was ever prioritized from what I remember.

Not the rarest item, but in FF9, the Hilgigars boss has a stealable weapon with a .39 ( less than 1%) success rate, if you didn't have certain thief skills.

Fortunately the weapon is available shortly after the fight

I did a playthrough of the PS4 version a few months ago and ended up getting it on the second steal. I couldn't believe it

hows normal difficulty if one doesnt grind? i started with the stronger enemies setting and a lot of deaths are just complete bullshit. thinking about turning it off. i'll get into a battle with 2-3 enemies and sometimes they just use aoe attacks or focus one character and i'm just totally fucked because they do more damage than i can heal unless im constantly healing with both my party members. most encounters are like this.

btw i'm level 8 and i just beat the two grim gryphons.

Hm idk. I'm playing with normal enemy difficulty but now I feel like I'm overleveled. I was level 11 for the Gryphons
