So if something wasn't intended (and for the record, most relevant stuff in Melee was intended - they didn't expect players to find ways to use wavedashing to their advantage, but they knew it existed since having people slide when they air dodge diagonally into the ground is really the only logical way to handle that situation), it doesn't exist and any fun you had with it didn't happen? It doesn't matter how or why Melee turned out the way it did, it plays the way it does and a lot of people love that way.

Just took down the Great Jagras. It was pretty fun tracking it down. When the red scale fills up with the twin blades what does that mean? More damage in Demon Mode?

It means you go into Archdemon mode, which...sucks, basically. It's an improvement over your default state, but it's inferior to demon mode in every way except for not draining stamina. Fill up the bar and you'll be in archdemon mode whenever you exit demon mode until the bar runs out, demon mode attacks will continue to fill it up. It basically just means that once you've filled the bar, you're a bit stronger than normal while you wait for your stamina to refill so you can go back into demon mode.

Insect Glaive is one of the weaker weapons in World but it's a lot of fun. It can be a bit crappy early on because your default Kinsect is slow as molasses, but as you upgrade the bug (focus on speed, it's the most important thing for a Kinsect by far) it gets to be more and more convenient. Just remember that as much fun as the aerial stuff can be, you do a lot more damage on the ground.

Yeah in fairness world 7 and 8 have some stages that aren't trivial even when you have a decent bit of experience. That underwater auto-scrolling stage and the fast airship are pretty tricky. The game is in a good place difficulty-wise where it's not unreasonable for pretty much any player to beat it, but it's not easy enough to be dull even when you've played it a bunch
