| Calwings 09/07/18 6:59:33 PM #2 | Yugioh's main problem compared to other card games is that there's no resource system that cards depend on, such as mana in Magic and energy in Pokemon. This means that a player could theoretically play several cards in a single turn as long as other requirements are met and each card keeps at least neutral card advantage. This makes Yugioh much more about explosive single-turn plays rather than the careful planning and building up for the long game of Magic or Pokemon. More importantly, it makes the game much more prone to one-turn kills and games that end very quick. The majority of cards banned in Yugioh are due to either being a major part of a one-turn kill combo OR due to making decks so consistent that they can easily win in one or two turns a lot of the time even without a specific combo. --- "Someday I too will fly... and find you again!" https://imgur.com/sE3mNqv |

I might get it on that, or on the Switch if I can get my hands on a new Micro SD card soon. I downloaded the demo of the game on both systems already but haven't tried it out yet. The way I see it, there are two main situations where I find piracy (for both games and anime) to be an "acceptable" alternative, and both fall under the category of there not being a reasonable and legal way to get the game/anime. 1) The game/anime is so old that it's very difficult to find a legitimate copy, and it's also not available to download/watch anywhere online legally. This is talking about stuff like older Nintendo titles that have never had a Virtual Console release, and very old anime with expired licenses that aren't available anywhere for streaming. 2) The game/anime was never licensed for a legal release in your country to begin with. This is talking about stuff like Mother 3 and the first batch of pre-Melee Fire Emblem games that never saw English releases, and certain Japan-only anime series like Precure that for some reason are never licensed outside of Japan at all. There's also a third debatable one, which is games/anime that are released elsewhere that are not legally available for your region yet. Pirating the Japanese version of a game that isn't out in English yet while planning to buy the English version when it comes out, or pirating an anime that's airing in Japan but that Netflix licensed and won't release to other regions until it's completely finished airing months later... this is a much shakier situation that some would disagree with, but that I can see as a legitimate reason. --- "Someday I too will fly... and find you again!" https://imgur.com/vneln4U |
