Ive had some jobs where it just got sort of awkward and negative due to people always wanting to hang out and me constantly not wanting to.

I worked for one construction outfit for a bit over a year where the whole crew (besides the dudes who were obviously gonna be fired before long) wanted to hang out every. Single. Friday. I was always constantly invited and did go once out of a sense of obligation and the whole evening and night just sucked afaic.

The company had kinda a shit way of seeing people as a whole and it started with the owner and top guys. It was like they all saw the inner circle as the cool kids of the trades and no one else was worth shit and deserved to be treated as such.

Im glad i was on the cool kid side from their view but man i liked a buncha the people who werent way more. It was such a joke.

Yeah, you're not really supposed to think that Walt is a legitimate tough guy. He's definitely smart and makes it through some pretty harrowing situations at various points because of that. But he also bumbled around at very points and generally makes tons of mistakes, and plenty of characters demonstrate how much more dangerous they are than him. Walt wants to come across as tough, and he's capable of putting on an intimidating mask at times, but deep down he just has a bloated ego and craves validation.

Still, he's obviously very smart. He deserves credit for that at least.

Smart enough to know that he had to sell that persona or hed have been utterly screwed. You dont use people like he did and go up against the people he did and not project an air of insane badassery.
