I usually expect 3-4 years. The hard drive in my current one decided to die after only 2, but I blamed that on the fact that it keeps waking itself up from sleep mode for no reason, which has caused it to get pretty hot when it does so while inside my backpack. I was able to replace the hard drive (with some difficulty; this was not a laptop that was designed to have components replaced), though, and it's still going after 4 years, including some time spent as a desktop replacement while my desktop was out of commission.

You can get an ultrasonic denture cleaner like they use at the dentist that does a better job than brushing alone can, but won't be as powerful as the dentist's. Your best bet is to get the dentist to clean it, then get in the habit of brushing it regularly. You can make that more effective by getting one of those ultrasonic cleaners and/or using denture tablets, but you really just need to brush it. Ask your dentist for a denture brush, which will have stiffer bristles better suited for brushing them.

Because I've seen a lot of people assuming that Trump was talking about Ilhan Omar (singular), despite the fact that every noun and pronoun he used ("congresswomen" and "they") was plural.

And here it is again - Mead says "They" (plural) are from the US, and OhhhJa's response is that "she" (singular) isn't.

I feel like this shouldn't be that difficult to understand...

Non-profit status isn't and shouldn't be determined by net worth.

The only way for a corporation to amass a large net worth is for it to make more than it spends. That's a profit. Obviously, it gets a bit more nuanced than that in that amassing some assets is needed to fund more expensive charitable causes and have enough in the bank for potential emergencies, but the bottom line is that a positive bottom line is a profit. If an organization has more money than it can reasonably be expected to spend in carrying out its mandate, calling it a non-profit is a stretch. If an organization is run by people who have become millionaires by running it, then calling it a non-profit is just ridiculous.

Taxing non-profits is stupid.

It is, but there are definitely some churches that are lucrative enough for their higher-ups that calling them "non-profits" is a bit questionable. As an organization, the Catholic Church has a significantly greater net worth than most corporations, to say nothing of all the fast food mega-churches that do very well for themselves. Most individual churches will qualify for non-profit status, but I don't think anything more than recognizing that is needed as far as tax exemptions go. Specifically naming churches as being exempt from taxes when such rules already exist for non-profits in general is silly and at odds with the concept of separating church and state.

Uhm, no. Your cooking is based on your tastes and upbringing. "Quality Restaurants" somewhere else are always catered towards the local preferences.

If you follow a recipe, you can definitely cook something to taste like it does in wherever its from. Cooking is based on taste and upbringing. But thats usually for cooking without a recipe, or without following a strict recipe. So, I think adjl is right about being able to get a sense of a regions cuisine by making it yourself. Even if it doesnt taste exactly the same, its might be similar enough to just get a sense of it...

For that matter, even if it's catered toward local tastes, a decent restaurant can still mirror the real thing closely enough to get a sense of the cuisine, especially if you're in an area with enough immigrants from that region to create a market for something genuine. It won't be exactly what the locals would eat, no, but it'll give you enough of an idea to let you form an opinion. That's all that's really necessary if you're looking to explore a bit, unless you're looking to understand the cuisine in greater depth (i.e. to be able to open your own restaurant based on that theme).

As far as cooking yourself goes, though, it is worth noting that regional availability of ingredients can result in different final products. To use this topic's example of stroopwafels, I believe making a genuine one usually calls for using treacle in the filling. Outside of Europe, treacle can be hard to come by, so recipes will suggest molasses instead. Of course, making stroopwafels at home also requires you to have a waffle iron that can make waffle cones and then cutting those waffles in half horizontally (making two thin halves), so that's enough of a pain that buying them is generally preferable.

If you dig a 1-block deep trench along the edge of the cave (so the water outside the door pours straight into that trench instead of onto a flat surface that it can spread on), that should ensure that it keeps looking like that.

I would guess because it's harder to choreograph live-action movies to songs than animated ones, particularly when said songs were written alongside an animated movie. Live-action Aladdin ran into that problem on multiple occasions, with the on-screen action during songs often seeming awkward when it didn't match what was happening in the original, and a couple of points where they actually sped up the video footage to make it match better (which just looked weird). I can understand them eschewing the songs altogether, rather than going through the hassle of trying to get the action to match the music or risking the oddities seen in Aladdin.

I like the sauce used in many places' spicy rolls, which I believe is usually a spicy mayo. I've also seen some other, more complex rolls with other sauces included in them, which can be good. Really, it just boils down to whether or not the chef knows what they're doing when they add the sauces and whether or not they end up with a good flavour combination. Basically like every other prepared dish ever.
