I played 1 for the first time earlier this year and loved the hell out of it. Want to play the sequels next year (even the supposedly bad 2 & 3, yeah. If I don't like them I'll drop them).

The combat is the most criticized thing about the game so it's super weird to see someone having a meltdown in defense of it >_>

But anyway, TC, hope you find yourself having fun with it. Combat is very different from the games you mentioned of course, but I had fun with it and the skills you can use. The greatest strength is in its writing.

On a personal level, I don't care about spoilers. They make me more hype. But I feel people should still be considerate for others and check before spouting out spoilers with zero filter or care. And the ones who do that and then vehemently defend themselves and say crap like, "Well it's been two months, if they cared they would have played/watched/read it already!" can go stub their toes.

It's almost Christmas Eve (here)! Been playing Heroes of Might and Magic III and stuck again because I'm still too slow getting everything together and then my enemies mop the ground with me. Sigh. I think I'm slowly getting the hang of it though

"Winter 2019" release is pretty misleading though imo. I know winter goes through early in the new year of course, but 2019 is...you know, like, 2019 lol. Wish they would have just said Q1 2020 instead but w/e. However long it takes it'll be worth it

Howdy yall. Hope the holiday week is going nicely for everyone! As an update, it looks like my dad will get discharged tonight. Theyre convinced the strokes can be linked to his diabetes and (poor) diet. Theyre going to be sending a dietician to him weekly to monitor stuff.

I had thought the whole season was after Nilfguard invaded but that was not true until I watched the last episode.

Really? It's more subtle with the timeline in the first two episodes but after that they practically slap you in the face with it.

I just finished it, and fuck, that was a great finale. I have some nitpicks, the only relevant one basically being how the daemon and human bond was portrayed (or lack of portrayal, really) but it was great overall. And season 2 is confirmed to air next year so the wait won't be bad

Don't know how to answer why. it's where they all start, it's how the characters are explored, and both Yen and Geralt's timelines move forward until they match Ciri's. tbh I don't know what's confusing about it

They're really fun and hilarious games to play with friends

I've played a good chunk of eurojank games now and they're (mostly) so charming and fun lol

it was Arkane Studios' (Dishonored, Prey) very first game in 2002! First person WRPG. It got a pretty good reception but to play it these days you'll need a fan patch called Libertatis.

Also FFXIII is pretty fun. Love its combat, personally. Hope you manage to snag it

The unit itself is fine, it's a weapon they nerfed. The weapon skills combined with the units basically allowed for the wind team to do constant skills the entire time. I don't blame them at all for knocking that down a peg

Watched 3 episodes last night--my biggest fear was Yennefer but her actress is pulling her off amazingly. Going to try to watch the rest today!

This is a pretty cruel match-up for me, hm. They're both so great.
