The one with the demo right now is a remake of the first game. System Shock 2 is still pretty playable, but the original...not so much. >_> |

Leanaunfurled 12/12/19 8:30:33 PM #13 | Alright my personal thoughts on the ones I've played: System Shock - I haven't played any of the original games (I just beat the new Prey game and I really want to hop on SS2's dick now, though) but this one didn't do much for me. And I do understand this is pre-alpha, so it doesn't have polish I expect it to have later. The main thing I feel is the environment was really bland and running around the different rooms was really boring. Unless the full thing is going to be completely revamped in that regard, it'll probably be a pass from me. Haven - Charmed me. At first I thought it was a game where I thought the VA weren't necessary, but they both grew on me pretty quickly. The camera could use some work but other than that the gameplay is pretty fun and it's really pretty and I'm intrigued by what their situation is and why they're on the run. Though I'm also confused on how long they've known each other. I had the impression their relationship was pretty long-term and deep but then she didn't know if the guy was a geologist or a biologist. >_> Spiritfarer - This one...wow. Really, really good looking animation and the controls feel tight and responsive. The gameplay itself is something I'd really enjoy as well, between helping a variety of souls "pass on" while you captain a ship you can decorate and build while doing activities in between voyages. for sure buying this at launch. Roki - Almost ignored this one and I'm glad I didn't. demo kind of plops you in the middle but I think the protag is looking for her kidnapped brother? It has a nice Scandinavian fairy tale vibe with puzzles you solve by collecting and combining items you find, kind of like in adventure games. Chicory - Almost ignored this one too and glad I didn't. What's up with the high amount of really charming indie games all of a sudden lol. Music is fantastic and it was fun coloring things in and exploring. You can move around with obstacles by coloring them or erasing their colors, and the dog protag (who I named Alfredo) is adorable. Eastward - Last one from me. Seems to be a pretty cute RPG with a really classic style. Combat and the puzzles I encountered getting to the first boss were fun, and you can control both of the characters who have different powers. |

Leanaunfurled 12/11/19 2:07:26 PM #63 | emblem boy posted... I'm not a fan of shallan. In the first books, the whole "I'm so smart with my witty jokes and puns" annoyed me.It was lol. It does seem to be a conscious thing at least, since Jasnah called her out on that very thing. I enjoyed her story a lot more in WoR but then in OB, I don't know. I do get part of it is mental illness for sure, but then it also feels like a big portion of what was going on was magical in nature and it just felt very extreme. It was just really confusing for me mostly. |

Leanaunfurled 12/11/19 1:17:27 PM #54 | I agree with you guys that Steris got really fantastic in Bands of Mourning. Which makes me curious--how did you all feel, generally speaking, about Shallan in Oathbringer? Her storyline in it was really weird to me, and I'd say it's the only thing that would bring the book down for me. I'll be starting a reread soon so maybe when I read Oathbringer for a second time I'll feel differently. |

Leanaunfurled 12/10/19 2:22:04 PM #11 | I really liked it, myself! Incredible combat system, fun exploration, great soundtrack, entertaining story. I feel I'm in the minority of liking the English VA cast, though. Biggest gripe (and it's rather big) is the gacha system for combat members. That's just...dumb. |

It has been almost twenty years since I first outlined The Stormlight Archive, says Sanderson. Back then, I didnt think anyone would be interested in this crazy epic Id devisedand its been so thrilling to see enthusiasm for it grow to such heights over the years. Book four finally gets to one of the foundational scenes I conceived from the beginning. In fact, it might be the very first big scene I imagined, and my favorite in the entire series. A part of me cant believe people are finally going to be able to read it. Less than one year now! Life before death, Radiants. |

Leanaunfurled 12/08/19 1:36:18 PM #10 | They don't look ugly, but the animations could really use work in both. And I don't know why you picked one of your examples to be a Falcom Kiseki game, when it's incredibly niche even in Japan and they're known for having really small budgets. Instead of, idk, Dragon Quest XI, FFXV, or Tales of Arise. |
