First shiny was a Raticate on the way up to the Lake of Rage and the red Gyarados in Silver. At the time I had no idea what it was but I caught it

In Fire Red I ran into a shiny Nidoran in the Safari Zone and couldn't catch it, then within an hour I found a shiny Bellsprout elsewhere. Caught that one.

Everything else I have has been bred or chained or whatever deliberately. I'd have to bust out my Bank but I think I have like 30 shinies at this point. Let's Go was particularly good to me, I think I got like 3 shiny Doduos in half an hour.

Graveler is a good one. Great color and you didn't have to worry about him exploding.

The one on the Death Star was a clone.

Funny enough, thats some extended universe shit, which they supposedly threw out.

No it wasn't.

The one on the Death Star is Palpatine himself. His spirit survives through Sith sorcery and jumps to a clone in the EU. There's no implication in the current canon that it was a clone on the Death Star, and he in fact says he's died before. We don't know for sure how he did it in the current canon but something similar to the EU is likely.

But in neither canon was the Palpatine aboard the Death Star a clone.

A connection and a dyad are not the same thing.

Snoke set up the initial connection, their deepening bond eventually became a dyad, which is something that hadn't been seen for thousands of years. Palps had no idea. This isn't hard to follow.

Snoke set up their initial communication. It didn't become a dyad until they bonded further. Dyads are a new concept and they're super rare and not just something you set up.

He comes off as a bit of an asshole sometimes. Like the time he proudly talked about tricking an employee at a store so he could get a game early. To his credit, he admitted he was wrong once multiple people told him that his actions very likely got that employee fired.

There's also his habit of aggressively doubling down when he's wrong. It's funny when it's a character or a bit in a sitcom, but it's extremely frustrating to deal with in real life (based on a friend of mine who does similar things).

https://youtu.be/6SGR35EtocQ

All that said, I don't think Pat is this inhuman asshole who would kick puppies for fun. He just lacks tact sometimes and comes off as abrasive.

Also:

The guy earlier who said that "it was clearly Matt's fault because Woolie chose Pat over him" had me rolling my eyes.

Yep.

The only things we know for sure is that Matt and Pat are no longer friends, and that Liam confirmed he and Pat are no longer friends and dropped communication when he left due to some kind of falling out.

Woolie is the only one that's still cool with everyone.

You can't use the argument that Leia knew Obi Wan through her adoptive fathers stories but then also say Ben is the only name she knew him by.

She literally called him Obi Wan Kenobi in her distress message.

And yes, I know YOU didn't make this argument but it was made earlier in the thread so is this argument just void?

She literally calls him Ben Kenobi in the same movie on the Death Star.

Handwaving is not an explanation. They're legitimately stupid things. Could they pass physical items in TLJ or is that another thing this movie pulled out of its ass/got completely wrong?

It's literally building on what was established of their strong bond in TLJ. They didn't pass items through there deliberately, but some rain made it through. Then they began doing it themselves in this movie, at first on accident and finally at the end deliberately. I mean, you can think it's stupid, that's your opinion, but the buildup is there and that can't be denied.

Again, explained in the movie. Rey and Ben have a unique bond in the Force that greatly strengthens their connection. Leia was also 53 years old and specifically said to be using the last of her energy to reach out.

Try paying attention, I know it's hard.

lol, it's bad writing. I'm guessing they must've ran out of footage or something if they had to resort to such a lame death

Are you dumb? They established in TLJ that projecting yourself through the Force takes a lot of strength (Kylo comments that it's not Rey establishing their bond, it would kill her, and Luke dies doing it) so of course an older, weaker Leia who Maz explicitly says has to use the last of her energy doing what she needs to do would die reaching out to her son one last time to pull him back to the light.

I swear, people bitch about things that are blatantly and obviously explained.

And I think they responded to the distress signal now because it's a much worse situation. Palpatine's message went out to the entire galaxy, and he has a massive fleet of planet killers and is about to send it out to wreak havoc. The Battle of Crait was one battle. Also Lando and the Falcon went to a more populated space lane and IIRC Crait was isolated.

I wish we'd actually seen the ships gathering, we didn't need the "oh I wonder if they'll show up" moment, we know they will, so instead show us Lando gathering the fleet.

Leia didn't die from thinking Ben was killed, she died from the strain of reaching out to him, much like Luke did.

As for Jedi voices there was Yoda, Anakin, Obi-Wan (both actors), Qui-Gon, Mace Windu, Aayla Secura, Luminara Unduli, Adi Gallia, Ahsoka Tano, and Kanan Jarrus. So a mix of main characters from the PT and OT, background Jedi from the PT, and two characters from TCW and Rebels.

Palps firing off a Force Storm was the biggest nod to the EU these films have had and it was dope.

I'm glad I didn't read the leaks beforehand, reading them off as a list of bullet points with no outside context made them sound stupid, but stuff like the Jedi speaking to Rey worked so much better in the film than on paper.

He definitely should have had more time as Ben, his mannerisms and even that "ow" were clearly not Kylo and it would have been nice to get a couple of lines.

Maybe. Once she agrees to do it he says to start the ritual and all his worshippers start chanting, so it may require a bit of prep work.

I got the vibe Palps spirit was piloting his corpse like a meat puppet from the way he was rotting, no wonder he wanted a new body.

Really enjoyed it overall, just thought the pacing was a little too fast and there were a couple plot points that I wasn't a fan of, most of all the fake out Chewie death.

Ben's character arc through the three films is great. That little Han Solo shrug he does after Rey passes him the lightsaber is so perfect because Kylo Ren would never do that, but Ben Solo would.

Also 3PO was hilarious this movie, dude was on point.

My favorite part of the sequel trilogy overall and this film specifically was Ben Solo's character arc. It's the most consistent thing across the films and Adam Driver really sells it. After his face turn here you really get the impression that Ben Solo was very different from the Kylo Ren we've seen. One of my favorite parts of the movie was when Rey transferred the lightsaber to him and he gave that little Han Solo-esque shrug before fighting the Knights of Ren. Just a subtle touch that's something Kylo would never have done.
