I think globalization has a lot to do with this rise in nationalism. Spoiler alert: most nations don't want to be controlled by the US/UN (or in other words, Western ideals).

I think God (especially in those early stories) had an allegorical relationship to nature. Fucked up shit happens for seemingly no reason so God must be arbitrary and horrific just like the nature He created.

I dont know why anyone cares one way or the other. Shouldn't we be paying attention to actual scientists instead of teenaged activists?

Okay after doing research it seems like thus was kicked off by a murder last week in Bayonne. The detective who died found the truck that may have been involved, when he went to talk to it they shot the cop dead. Then they ran to the Kosher deli where the massive shootout began

People shouldn't get tax breaks for donating to charity. That kinda defeats the whole "charity" aspect of it.

And rich people shouldnt have limitless loopholes to otherwise get out of taxes.

Bible is the truth until we're able to challenge those ideas, and then it's "just a metaphor". It's literally moving goal posts. At some point we just need to acknowledge that miracles are miracles and God doesn't give a shit about physics or biology in certain circumstances. Or accept that the miracles didn't actually happen as per the bible and it's all just a fictional story used to teach a moral that lacks any authority.

The Bible is literally a collection of different books which includes fiction, poetry, historical accounts, etc.

You can't say people are "moving the goal posts" when individual books in the bible should be analyzed differently.

I've kind of decided that the Bible was simply an epic fantasy book meant to convey a good message to readers written a few thousand years ago but people back then were really dumb so they took it literally and formed a religion out of it and it just spun wildly out of control

This is the exact same thing the losers of a bygone generation always say about the new one.

No, all the kids aren't doing all this stuff, the same niche of drugsex kids has been there every single generation since it was conceived of, and new things aren't out to get you.

This but I do think that social media has made things a bit different than past generations.
