First off, we went to the moon 5 times after that.

Why we didnt go back? Because its fucking expensive and the government was willing to fund it to show superiority to Russia in the midst of the cold war.

Technology not good enough? Satellites began being launched into space in the late 1950s. Think about how fucking precise they got. Also remember, the gravity on the moon is different from the earth, it doesn't take nearly as much power to make the trip from the landing vehicle to the orbitting return vehicle. Not that this wasn't dangerous as hell, there was signifcant risk involved. In todays world, we probably never take that risk. But this was the cold war days and the moon landings were at their heart all about rubbing it all in to Russia.

Unless your going to get all conspiracy theory about cell phones or the fact at this point mankind has literally landed rovers cleanly on fucking asteroids. But at that point you are lost.

I'm saying this shouldn't be that hard to google search but people(and the internet) have been exploited in horrible ways.

Basically, at a certain point, there are certain major events that we should be able to take as fact without needing to fend off conspiracy theories. Because at a certain point in human history physical evidence to these facts will no longer exist. We should be able to take historical facts at face value and not have people literally just denying facts.

No I actually was bored at work the other day and people were spewing conspiracy links on twitter and there was a really good dedicated website linked. I'm trying to find it for you but it was on my phone and literally doesn't come up with a search of "moon". That was probably the furthest I've looked into beyond a few token "oh hey these theories are crazy heres why" many years back.

Hence why this was actually on my mind when the poll came up.

I also happened to be at a public place that had something to commemorate the moon landing and there were literal people that got up at points to spout out to the crowd that the whole thing was fake. It was really fucking depressing. So the poll coming a bit after that absolutely touched a nerve.

These statements are literally contradictory by the way. You are saying these people that deny the moon landing would be better informed by looking at why people think the moon landing is fake but somehow this would lead to them believing it was real. I've got news for you, they immediately stop at the first source(Which is fake and full of misinformation) and the fake sources pretty much -never- link or mention the real sources.

This stuff has stopped being satire and is now just people out to spread misinformation.

And the roadmap for this is used to spread other bits of much more harmful misinformation.

Hell, if the conspiracy is right, would that really matter? It was a propaganda stunt for a cold war that is long over. And the US government lies regularly.

because its a demonstrated and then exploitable science of how easy it is to convince people of literally anything. Its a bookmark for future bad faith arguments that can cause true harm to society.

I'm rusty as scum. Its been complicated these last two times that the first I was literally at Disney World and the second I had to work during peak hours. That makes having meaningful impact tough because you miss so much of the game.

I think my night instincts are still pretty good though. But the scumplay rust is real. I definitely played better last game in a loss once my Disney World trip was over/winding down than I did this game in a win.

basically, unlike things like say Death Miller, SK is a role that has an equal chance to fuck over both town and scum. So it is RNG but at the very least it is a true neutral party.

Whereas Survivor is just boring.

I do believe I've mentioned my Survivor play before. I literally claim it opening post and idle for the rest of the game. It is my best shot to not be shot by scum and since I will remain true neutral to the end town should know that lynching me is only beneficial to scum.

SK is a role that can skew balance in both ways, but its a fun role. And I assume fun is the reason we all play the game.

Also that Kingmaker reveal happened right when I was about to start work. I was absolutely fucking livid. If I didn't have a strong sense of self control I would not have been able to resist the urge to throw my phone. I knew exactly how damaging that role was likely to be to our team when at the time we looked absolutely golden(I was feeling especially good because I felt like me/pez/ulti had a very hard chain to follow, which turned out to be a correct assumption in the end).

On that note, I'm going to reiterate that scum hunts fucking SK's, not town. I don't think I've rammed that down peoples head enough in the post post game.

b8 towns are suckers for going after inactives that show up and make token low effort posts. The fact that they are scum at a slightly higher rate than full inactives here helps(I think our full inactives have been like 85-90% town the last year).

He could have been taken down with any power except for things like Kingmaker or Mayor, but Mayor is significantly less strong.

Town in general had a very awful day 1. It got lost in the shuffle but running into fucking kingmaker is demoralizing as fuck(I cannot stress enough how much town win% goes up if theres a kingmaker and they just rng dice roll their power immediately day 1). That Dowolf lynch is pretty free with just about any other role.
