That's the kind of rhetoric I'm talking about that I think is sickening. You're kinda going out of your way to downplay the fault of the criminals in order to call the cops murderers.

The criminals are dead, they faced the maximum repercussion for what they did already, and no one is under any illusion that what they were doing was right. Theres nothing to be gained from criticizing them at this point.

The cops, however, are alive and well and may face no punishment for their actions. They have people defending their choice as correct. People should be critical of what they did so maybe next time theres a hostage situation the hostage wont be in more danger from the police than from their captors.

Thats the crux of why I find this situation so upsetting. The hostage would have been better off if the police had just stayed home. Their bullets killed the person they were supposed to save

No, I dont. They knew that man was in the truck and chose to shoot 200 rounds in his direction anyway. Killing him wasnt their intent, but they recklessly disregarded his safety in the pursuit of their actual intent.

obviously if the robbers went on to shoot someone else thats bad, no one could know for sure what would or would not happen. The thing they did know is that there was a hostage in the line of fire and I still think its wrong to so directly endanger that hostage to stop the robbers from hypothetically doing something in the future.

They have already proved theyre criminals willing to shoot at civilians. You dont know what else they are planning, other than they are armed and very dangerous. If you give them a little space, theyre just going to stick to highways anyway. If you give them too much space, you risk them getting away and shooting at who knows who else. At that point, you dont even know if the hostage is still alive, theres no communication. And typically, robbers dont exactly tend to get surrounded by police and go screw it, I choose death, and start shooting, so acting like the cops purposely walked into a shootout isnt fair. Video makes it appear the robbers started shooting first, so what exactly are the cops supposed to do?

wheres the line for how much additional danger its ok to create in the pursuit of these men? Yes, theyre dangerous and should absolutely be apprehended, but shooting 200 rounds into a public place ended up being even more dangerous. The police shot twice as many innocent people as the robbers did.

letting them go results in at least one innocent person not being dead so it sounds way smarter than what the cops did. 20 cops shooting around a bunch of civilians endangered more people than the criminals.

but I dont actually mean let them go like let them get away and go free and do more crimes forever I mean... engage them somewhere that isnt a crowded highway? The police have helicopters, they can keep track of a truck without having to drive a car behind it.
I dont know, do anything that doesnt involve shooting a lot of bullets in the direction of a hostage. If you let the criminals get away, maybe the hostage survives, this way he definitely didnt.

I find the situation really troubling for some reason in a way I generally dont react to news stories... maybe its the fault of heist movies or something, but I had this idea in my head that police wouldnt put a hostage in danger like this to get at the criminals. With all the officers shooting and how close the driver must have been to the robbers there was like no way he wouldnt get caught in the crossfire. Its super fucked up.

Has it been confirmed the cops shot the hostage? Last I read they weren't sure if they were killed in the crossfire or by the robbers. Video shows the robbers were definitely shooting.

i dont have the stomach to watch the video too closely, but people claim you can see the UPS driver is still alive before the cops start shooting. I dont know that anyone can say for sure whose bullet did it, but it seems like he was killed in the shootout rather than intentionally killed by the robbers.

I make a non-me character specific to whatever game im playing. Theres definitely specific wells I tend to go back to (I do a blonde pompadour like Lucas has pretty often), but its always a completely new person in each game.

the only time I do a character remotely like me is if the character is legitimately meant to be an avatar of myself, so like... a Mii or maybe a custom Tony Hawk skater. Never for an RPG.

the loss of Lil Bub is definitely top 2 most effecting celebrity deaths for me along with Ryan Davis. I met her once at a record signing. It was nice.

Lil Bubs owner seems like a really good guy and reading his post announcing her death and talking about how much she meant to their family made me cry a little. There arent many people/things in the world that are as nice and positive as Lil Bub content without coming across as insincere. Ill really miss her.

I have enough faith in this show at this point to believe it will all make sense, but its going to take a little justifying for

Which is in and of itself a crime, so you have to consider THEM innocent of lying, which would mean the accused rapist would have to be guilty

1. you presume the rapist is innocent, which then suggests the accuser is inaccurate
2. you presume the accuser is innocent of fabricating the story, which then suggests she genuinely believes what she is saying to be true
3. until the rapists trial is concluded, you presume the accuser has false memories implanted in her head or she was raped by some sort of shapeshifter

Across the Sea was a real bummer because it was so significant to the lore and so bad, definitely my choice for worst of these series.

Speaking of length stuff... it feels like this game has barely any trainer battles compared to the rest of the series. Like im just before the champion tournament and it feels like I havent fought most of the trainer types more than twice. Its weird.
