Ah, so people shouldn't celebrate holidays by going out to eat, or to a play or concert, or nightclub, or travel to be with family, or.....

I've worked on holidays most of my life, in universities, hospitals, and in shows. Eh? In research, ongoing experiments have to be observed and logged regardless of day.

You either work or don't on holidays. Surprise! Very few of us can justify only working banker's hours 9-5 M-F.

Yup. Multiple times. It can be distilled down to 'We are all sinners but God sent Jesus to die for us so that we may be redeemed and have the chance to go to heaven after we die; but we have to accept Jesus into our lives and live in a good and godly manner by doing so to be saved.'

Actually, I read it more like "immature temper-tantrum god becomes jealous of other gods, sends his best friend to hell, sends a minion to rape a human woman so he has a sort of 'son' he can put to death by torture as an elaborate joke on his worshippers that he had been stringing along for thousands of years as his Chosen People". Pretty good deal for clergymen, if you have a god you can't trust, why should you be surprised by what priests do?

The mix of humor and action, with likeable characters in an engaging setting.

The Expanse outpoints it on visuals, has likeable characters, but generally just misses the charm of Firefly.

Starhunter was good, actually Firefly borrows a lot from it, even to the point of mentioning the bounty hunters' "Trans-Utopian" spaceship in one episode, and Percy and Kaylee are similar, as are Zoe and Luc. Dark Matter with it's ensemble cast and humor probably comes closest to Firefly in appeal.

Since they have female hormones, they have female muscles. Seems fair. I'd guess they often have more bulk and longer bones than natal females, and less flexibility, so advantage or disadvantage, I don't know.

I haven't knowingly sparred against a transperson in tournaments, but have gladly fought exhibition bouts against men when there aren't female opponents in my class. It's fine with me. Easier than some 200+ pound females I've fought (I'm 5'1 140)
1. Female hormones dont give you female muscles. A MtF trans individual still has larger and denser muscles than a female.

2. Anybody can call themselves trans. They dont actually have to have gone through surgery or even taken hormones. And depending on the rules of the sport, they can still compete while being largely considered a male biologically.

3. You mustve sparred against some weak males, because your experience is extremely specific and anecdotal. Im 6 foot tall, 245 pounds with no formal training in self defense or martial arts. But I guarantee you if we got into a ring together, youd walk away injured.

Youre actually doing more harm to women than you realize by downplaying whats going on here.

An admittedly cursory search of the literature doesn't indicate a particular advantage to MTF athletes over natal female athletes. Jokes about Russian weightlifters aside, the Olympics and highest levels of sports are not overrun by MTF athletes.

1. Female hormones = female muscles. Male hormones = male muscles. Overdose of male hormones = bigger muscles plus nasty side effects. No hormones = loss of muscle mass and strength. Check eunuchs.

2. Unless I'm badly mistaken, for sanctioned sports, trans athletes have to pass the same physical examination as their natal sisters, including steroids, metabolites, etc. Hormones must be documented as maintained at female levels for at least a year.

3. Big tough untrained male, small disciple-level trained female. Hmm. Sue Shiomi?

In golf, being taller and longer-boned with the ability to use longer clubs might be a small advantage, but I'd still expect experience and skill to prevail.

Comparing Nintendo to Fisher Price is a gross exaggeration. There's a difference between games for all ages and games specifically for children.

There have been Rare exceptions (pun intended) with offerings from Rare, RockStar, Suda51, etc., but these are mostly known to gamers. To the general public, Nintendo means chibi mascot games for children.

The Tetris craze sold lots of GameBoys to travellers, the Wii Fit fad sold lots of balance boards to moms, but both were short-lived, leaving the detritus of Pokemon cards and toys for elementary-schoolers.
