Post something someone doesn't like? "kys". It's obnoxious and such a lazy response and comes off as an admission of defeat. So yeah, it's not a girl thing, it's an internet thing. The girl identity does exacerbate the issue because on the internet, you're anonymous and you have no reputation. What gives people a reason to listen to you is the ideas and content you bring to the table. Girls, by admission of their gender, gain a advantage in building their identity just by disclosing their gender, an extreme minority in these communities. So guys are generally going to be hostile to that notion. That being said, I'm immensely proud of my Fire Emblem community as it's fairly balanced in gender (well, more so than most titles) and my community is civil, helpful, and rather close knit. It's crazy who acceptable it has become to vilify people for being attracted to things that have been the case through all of history. Glad I live in a country where this attitude hasn't spread much yet. The mistake you along with all the critics are making in this topic is that you're treating each of these as issues independently. When you raise the standards for women, for instance their salary, their expectations for suitable men will also increase. They make 60K, they want a guy within that range, and for those who want to marry up, guys need to have much higher salaries. Given that guys and gals are competing for the same jobs, this makes things more difficult for guys to achieve. Couple this with the difficulty of the dating game where the top 20% of guys get most of the attention and we're seeing a scenario where guys are losing their self-worth to the point of flat out giving up on themselves and the world. As a result, MGTOW, inceldom, and suicides (as mentioned before in this topic) are on the rise. It's not as straightforward as you make it out to be.
