You have to meet position requirements at all times for active teams. If and when a team is eliminated, I will not allow teams to game the system by taking advantage of the requirements being lifted, so to speak. I have been pretty vocal about curbing that since a few offseasons ago.

They did have three of the five MVP candidates! It's funny because the game shows you the MVP race starting after Week 8, and back then, it was Young, Rodgers, and three Rams players.

100ft Robot Golf for PC

A lot about this game is aces. The intentionally bad voice acting (aside from the announcers since those were done by actual radio people) and dumb sense of humor are a noticeable improvement over No Goblin's previous work in Roundabout. I would love to see a dedicated show for this.

While both games have an excellent sense of style and clear time and effort put into them, both games also struggle in the gameplay department in various ways. In 100ft Robot Golf, maneuvering with robots, destroying the environments, and disrupting the shots of your opponents never gets old. Unfortunately, the golfing is kind of bad. That probably won't be a problem for most people, but golfing is one of the few sports that I still buy video games of, so I'm not one to give people free passes for mediocre execution in what is usually a zen-like experience for me. Driving is fine, but chipping and putting are awful, and a huge reason why is because the game doesn't give proper indication of things like elevation on the greens. Fortunately, the game has no fail states, so you can suck and the game still moves forward.

SkyDrift for PC

I had been wanting to buy this for seemingly a decade, but I finally pulled the trigger in the winter sale. It is probably the best arcade flying racer (not that there are many) that I've played. It's too bad there was so little course and race type variety and little sense of progression.

Beat Cop for PC

Overall, I liked this game, but it is one of those one-and-done games even though it encourages you to play again for alternate endings. It's just too exhausting to want to go through again. It's one of the most overwhelming games that I've played in recent years.

As a side note, I was wrong when I thought the composer was also responsible for Party Hard's music. It was done by the Witcher 3 guy instead!

cityglitch for PC

One of several games I bought in the recent Steam winter sale that I will be posting here shortly, they got a lot of mileage out of a simple concept of using a 5x5 grid and having you light up a few designated spots. It really started to kick my ass in the last two levels. Boss battles were a surprisingly nice addition.

Pajama Sam: No Need To Hide When It's Dark Outside for PC

I was big on Humongous Entertainment games in the 90s/early 00s, but that was strictly with Backyard sports, Putt-Putt, and Freddi Fish. I had never played a Pajama Sam game. Sure, I'm almost 30, but I can appreciate a game meant for people 20+ years younger than me! I'm not sure if Putt-Putt did this, but I know Freddi Fish did some slight procedural generation, and I like how Pajama Sam follows suit.

I will admit that I actually to look up a guide for one thing, and it was stupid because in the room with all the doors and knobs everywhere, I had no idea there was a hallway to the right. lol me.

General Manager of the Year

1. Jablax

+ Seahawks went a franchise-best 11-5 and their first NFC West title

- Little activity (RFA, part of UFA, signed HB Chris Ivory, sat players for finale)

2. KCF

+ Tied a career-best with a 12-4 record and reclaimed the AFC East crown and the #1 seed in the AFC
+ Lost seven players rated 85+ while receiving one in return (FA K Kris Brown) and managed to finish 2nd in total offense, 2nd in points per game, 1st in total defense, 1st in points allowed per game, 1st in point differential, 1st in turnover differential, 1st in def. sacks
+ Drafted six of the 10 RotY finalists
+ Signed QB Matt Schaub who managed to post a 100 passer rating (12 TDs, 3 INTs on 66% passing) in six starts for an injured Sam Keller

- Three of the 85+ players that departed were Gs and RG Kendall Simmons tied for the most sacks allowed (19)
- Two of the other 85+ players were the K and P and special teams took a noticeable hit this season with the new specialists.
- Sort of forgot to change his strategy once Keller exited the injury report Week 15 and lost final two games
- Stale choice

3. Shattered

+ Went 9-7 and made the playoffs
+ Offensive and Defensive rankings improved from last season (Offense from 14th to 11th and Defense from 8th to 5th)
+ Boldly changed starting QB and HB midseason, including going from a balanced (which is really just a slightly more athletic pocket passer) to a scrambling one, and offensive rankings improved

- Won 1.5 fewer games than last season
- Actually had a worse winning percentage after the QB/HB change
- Minimal contributions from rookie class

Comeback Player of the Year

Bucs' P Jason Baker

Baker's raw stats aren't particularly impressive (43.4 punting average, 32.1 net average, but he had one of the better inside opp. 20: Touchback ratios (31:8) in the league. More importantly, the 37-year-old hadn't been employed since season 2. The seventh-oldest P in the league and by far the lowest-rated starter at the position managed to finish in the top half of the league in punting average despite collecting welfare for almost a decade (don't fact check me!).

Colts' QB Charlie Whitehurst

A backup in St. Louis the past four seasons, the 32-year-old former 1st rounder by the Packers appeared to be done as a starting QB despite being a consistent starter for the Packers with passer ratings never dipping below 76 in a season. The Colts gave him a shot to succeed David Carr, and he responded by throwing the second-most yards in his career (2959, 4th in the league this season) to 12 different receivers (tied for most in the league) and helping to lead the Colts to their first AFC South title and a first round bye.

Titans' WR Larry Fitzgerald

Fitz entered last season having started every B8NFLL game up to that point but had his season be cut short after three games. The season prior to that was his first as a Titan where he set career lows in every major statistic by a decent margin. How did he respond after being thrust in a different offensive system with a scrambling QB being implemented? He finished 9th in the league with 1015 rec yards and half of the Titans' receiving TDs (6).

Raiders' ROLB A.J. Hawk

Having been surrounded by veteran LBs all his career, retirements and a trade led Hawk to become the second-oldest LB on the team and after coming off a season that he missed more than half the games, things weren't looking good for the Raiders' once vaunted (by just me) LB corps. The 31-year-old went above and beyond what was expected of him as he set career highs in tackles (71), sacks (10), FFs (3), and tied a career best in FRs (2) as he sacrificed his body so the Raiders could win the AFC West for the first time.

Jets' DT Jordan White

The one-time Defensive Rookie of the Year finalist (lost to Vikings FS Ko Simpson in S4), White has sat behind Charles Alexander and Casey Hampton ever since, starting a whopping 0 games in his next six seasons. After Hampton retired, the Jets selected DT Nick Fairley in the first round, forcing White to make one last stand to be a starter again for the only franchise that he's ever known. He responded by being a DL of the Year finalist with 50 tackles, 7 sacks, 4 FFs, and 2 FRs.

Breakout Player of the Year

Buccaneers' RT Orlando Franklin

The third-year Pro came into the season with a career line of 30 blocks against 8 sacks allowed, an especially poor ratio for an OT. Earning a starting gig in Week 1, he was the lone bright spot on an OL that could not create holes for the running game or protect the QB. Franklin ended up with a blistering 76 blocks, 3 sacks allowed, or roughly 25 blocks per sack allowed. The rest of the OL combined to record 172 blocks against 57 sacks allowed, or roughly 3 blocks per sack. Franklin might have been the difference between a playoff team and a losing one with a bunch of dead QBs and HBs.

Falcons WR Early Doucet

After Hines Ward retired a few seasons ago, nobody has truly stepped up to replace him. Doucet has been the closest but has yet to top even 850 yards in a season. With QBs Aaron Rodgers and Rex Grossman combining to throw for 12 TDs against 25 INTs and a passer rating below 60, you would assume that the Falcons would have to wait another year to see if anybody in their WR corps will become a star. You'd be wrong though. Doucet was responsible for more than half of the Falcons receiving yards and 2/3 of the receiving TDs en route to an 82 reception, 1250 yard, 8 TD season.

Pioneers K Nate Kaeding

In his 11th season with the Pioneers franchise, you'd think that Kaeding would have had some great seasons here and there. However, he had never hit more than 28 FGs, and his career FG% sat at 78, never eclipsing 82% in a season. Kaeding responded by being one of the unsung heroes for this Pioneers team that saw a six win improvement from a year ago by hitting a B8NFLL record 38 FGs on 42 attempts (90% also tied for lead league), including nailing all five of his kicks from 50+ yards after entering the season as a sub-50% kicker from that range.

Vikings' HB Courtney Lewis

A player that I have gushed about to anyone who would lend an ear, this career journeyman backup should have been a starter much sooner. Taken with the first of five picks that the Bills received from the Bucs in the Tom Brady trade, Lewis has shown to four franchises (Bills, Panthers, Steelers, Dolphins) that his consitent, efficient, and dual threat game meant he could be a star if someone would just give him a chance. All four let him hit free agency. The Vikings picked him up last season as a mid-season replacement, and after re-signing him in the offseason, he was given his first starting gig at the age of 31. He responded by recording 657 more rushing yards (1584) than he had ever produced in a season, five more TDs (11), and was just 21 yards shy of 2000 total yards on the season as the Vikings focal point on offense en route to an NFC North title.

Wildcats' LE Robert Quinn

Not prof's first choice with the 11th pick in the S10 draft, Quinn had a disappointing rookie season with just 3 sacks in 16 starts. It's an understatment to say that his sophomore season went a lot better. Helping out a defense that finished in the teens for the first time since the Arizona Cardinal days, Quinn led the NFL in sacks this season with 14.
