KCF0107 04/01/19 11:53:04 PM #112 | End-of-Season Season Awards The following posts will contain all the awards that will be given out this season. While participation is optional, I encourage you to take 15 minutes or so out of your life to pick out your choices for each category and submit them to me via PM before the deadline. Most of the awards are from the game itself. There are a few that are entirely of my creation. The former awards will have both a User and Madden winner while the later will solely have a User winner. The nominees for awards from the game will come from the game itself with maybe a handful of exceptions. To not spoil who Madden chose for each award, I will reveal who was a replacement choice when the winners are revealed. Also to prevent spoilers, I reorder the nominees by team name, first name, or last name every year. This year, I chose team name. We are slightly changing up things for some of the big awards once again. For the Offensive Player, Defensive Player, and MVP of the Year, we are going back to a five-player pool. However, you can use the list of finalists given to you or have a write-in vote using one of the applicable players up for another award. I will use my discretion to null a write-in vote if I feel it to be disingenuous --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy https://imgur.com/VfpY7tg |

KCF0107 03/31/19 11:43:59 PM #105 | 12. Carolina Panthers Despite owning then the easiest schedule by a mile, the Panthers consistently underperformed in nearly every aspect aside from the W/L record. After that 6-1 start, the Panthers schedule didn't get much tougher, but they fell back down to earth going 3-6 the rest of the way, including going 1-5 against teams who ended up going 6-10 or worse. They are limping into the playoffs with no real identity on any side of the ball. They are this season's Titans, and that's not a compliment. Maybe they can beat the Bucs this week. They did go 2-0 against them in the regular season, and as mentioned just before, the Bucs are coming off a poor end to the season, but there will be no berth in the conference championship for the winner of this game. --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy https://imgur.com/VfpY7tg |

KCF0107 03/31/19 11:43:55 PM #104 | 7. Baltimore Ravens With the Giants defense collapsing upon itself all the way to last place, the Ravens likely take the mantle of best defensive team in B8NFLL history with another high-takeway, Top 10 D. If you have a great defense, you have a shot as long as your offense isn't a total liability. While not exactly consistent or threatening, they can beat you on the ground or through the air just enough (tied for 17th in points per game). Second in the league with a +15 turnover differential, that will come in handy as they face the Steelers (-2). It will be a tough matchup if they manage to face the Colts next week, but one week at a time. 8. Pittsburgh Steelers A 3-4 finish nearly cost the them a playoff spot, but they are here to face a Ravens team in a rematch of a game they lost in Week 15. A team with a somewhat different offensive identity than the one they began the season with, the offense has been more prolific since the change, and the defense is elite. They do not match up well with the Colts or Dolphins, but against the Ravens, the game is a toss up if they keep turnovers to a minimum. The injuries to this team won't help their chances though. 9. St. Louis Rams If not for an offensive dry spell in the middle of the season contributing to five-game losing streak, the rest of the users would be more threatened by them. Make no mistake though, Wiz should want to face the NFC South game winner over the Rams. The Rams sack everybody and force a substantial amount of turnovers (39). QB Ryan Tannehill is starting to get his groove back as well. If they can get even a little bit more out of their running game (28th in the NFL), then they are a SB threat. 10. Oakland Raiders I originally had them 12th, but I decided to move them up because they finished the season 6-1 including two road wins against the Steelers and Dolphins. They lost QB Kirby Freeman back in Week 11, but no problem. Andy Dalton isn't just a Chief killer. The defense has been their typical great but no elite self. The kicker is their other new offensive imports, namely HB R.J. Jackson's having best season in the league and a healthy TE Chris Cooley adding an element that retired TE Jeremy Shockey never had. Add an improved year from the special teams, and you see why the Raiders recorded their first double-digit win season and an AFC West crown. They get to face basically the polar opposites in the Pioneers, who are also a very hot team, so they might unfortunately be unable to make noise in the playoffs. 11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers The Bucs finished with the #14 offense and #12 defense, which is eerily similar to their team from last season despite the major composition difference. The Bucs enter having lost three of their last four games, including the last two by a combined 16-72. Still, they have a balanced offense for the first time since arguably the inaugural season SB-winning squad, and the players who have been returning from injuries are playing with a vengeance. Still, this OL is atrocious, and I plan to point it out when I do the awards, and QB Teddy Bridgewater has had a disappointing sophomore season. Someone will have to win their game against the Panthers, but I expect the winner to do nothing past that. --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy https://imgur.com/VfpY7tg |

KCF0107 03/31/19 11:15:13 PM #103 | KCF's Playoff Power Rankings 1. Miami Dolphins While they only went 12-4, there is a case to be made that this is the best team of all-time. The Dolphins finished 2nd in total offense, 2nd in points per game, 1st in total defense, 1st in points allowed per game, 1st in point differential at +163, 1st in turnover differential at +22, 1st in def. sacks, their QBs went a combined 27 TDs against 7 INTs, they had the league's leading rusher, etc... all while owning the league's fourth-hardest schedule. While a perennial playoff team and SB threat, anything short of a SB berth might be considered a failure for this team. 2. Dallas Cowboys The league's hottest team has won 13 consecutive games behind Vince Young and a defense that has been on lockdown these past several weeks. Due to being in the weaker conference, they should be the favorites among all playoff teams to make the Super Bowl (for the fifth straight season). Their only drawback is that they aren't consistently dominant and have played down to their opponents offensively in recent weeks. 3. Indianapolis Colts Because they aren't a user team, I feel like the league doesn't respect this team like they should. They have been consistent all season. HB Steven Jackson's high volume, less-than-ideal efficiency is really their only weakness, especially with four players having just returned from injury. They may not have a killer edge like, say the Pioneers do with Wilson and Clayton, but this team is much like the Dolphins in which they have a balanced, mistake-free offense and a defense that is frustratingly stingy. A first trip to the AFC Championship is in their grasp. 4. Seattle Seahawks With the Seahawks locked into the two seed ahead of Week 17, Jablax elected not to try and gain a few extra progression points and sat many his starters, only to get demolished. With a talent gap between them and the Cowboys, that was, in my opinion, the wrong move, and only makes the fight to be the NFC rep in the SB all that much harder for them. This team does have two things going for it, and that is a high-powered passing offense, and a defense that creates lots of turnovers and converts them into points. If there's a team to potentially upset the Cowboys on the road, it's this one. 5. Columbus Pioneers Normally, I should not have this kind of team this high. I hate to say this ad nauseum, but the game favors defensive teams, and this team's defense was the worst among playoff teams, and likely still so if you take away their worst defensive performance. I can assure you though it has nothing to do with them playing in Columbus. It's that there is no deadlier offensive tandem this season than Russell Wilson and Mark Clayton. They are basically this season's version of Sam Keller and Kelly Campbell, but with Wilson trading a little bit of throwing prowess for flashing his wheels. Those two guys alone are good enough to score a lot of points. If they can hold their opponents to 24 points or less, I like their chances against anybody. 6. Minnesota Vikings One of the hottest teams entering the postseason, the Vikings once again had a Top 10 O and D, one of five teams with that distinction (Dolphins, Cowboys, Colts, and Broncos). Former MVP QB Josh Portis had a resurgent season, someone finally had the sense to give HB Courtney Lewis a starting gig from Week 1, and this secondary allowed nobody to pass to them. The Vikings have historically underachieved in the playoffs despite their many opportunities. They would have rather faced the Panthers/Bucs here than the underrated Rams, but they have the talent and production of a SB team and are slotted accordingly. --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy https://imgur.com/VfpY7tg |

Cowboys, Seahawks, and Vikings are locked into their seeds Panthers get 4 seed if they win, Bucs lose, or Bucs tie Bucs get 4 seed if they win, Panthers lose, or Panthers tie Rams might be able to get 5 seed if they win and one or both of Panthers/Bucs lose. --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy https://imgur.com/VfpY7tg |
