Hes too easy to predict, since hes nothing but fastball after fastball. He needs to develop a good secondary pitch to keep batters guessing. I thought the same thing. Give Suter 2 innings, which would push everyone back 1 and give Hader the 9th. Oh well. At least we put up a decent effort that showcased some of the reasons why we did belong. As much as I love Hader when he's on, sometimes I wish he wasnt on the team. --- Don't mind me. I'm just here for the contest. |

I found out from some old school friends later on that he died at age 21 in a different state. Nobody knows for sure how he died (as obituaries never say, so you often don't know unless you know the family or something). There were some rumors floating around, but to this day, I don't know how he died. --- Don't mind me. I'm just here for the contest. |

I'm not sure why Madden was so defensive about it in that article unless he was just anticipating some future grumblings. I just want them to compete, no matter who's on the field, and it sounds like Madden is promising that, at least in the article. Though the fact that they just got swept by the Pirates shows that the players have probably already mailed it in emotionally, regardless of what Madden said. --- Don't mind me. Having a 27-16 record in one run ballgames helps, which I thought was impressive until I saw San Francisco is 38-16 in one run ballgames. Holy smokes! With that being said, the Brewers have actually scored a few more runs this year than the Cardinals have....the Cardinals have just given up 100 fewer, lol. Which is crazy to think the Brewers have given up 100 more runs this season than them, with equivalent runs scored, and are just 1 game back. --- Don't mind me. I'm just here for the contest. |

First time in franchise history that would happen. How in the world are we in the playoffs without even one ace? Just looking at our roster versus some of the other teams in the playoffs, the only way we can make it far again in the playoffs this year is if we can keep on riding this momentum we are on. Baseball is a game of streaks. Keep staying hot and it can carry us through some of our deficiencies. Also, Cubs are playing meaningful baseball on the final weekend. :) They could have a big say in who wins the NL Central here. 1 game difference with 3 left to play. I was looking around online and it seems a lot of Cubs fans have no problem sticking it to the brewers here, which I get on the surface. I just honestly thought Cubs fans hated Cardinals more. Like, wouldn't you rather want to get revenge on the Cardinals by kicking them to the wild card game? Or is the sting of last years game 163 still so fresh? I mean, I don't really follow the Mets outside of what you post here, so I trust you know a lot more about the state of the organization than I do. I was just trying to point out that the brewers were only 2 games over .500 at the beginning of september. If they did not go on that run this month, and all else was more or less equal, then your team would be in the wild card and have a great chance of getting into the playoffs. So...I guess I was trying to give you a different perspective, and also it was my way for trying to say sorry that the Brewers took your team's spot. --- Don't mind me. In several other seasons, their effort probably would've been enough. Also, don't forget that the Brewers hot streak spoiled what would have been a tight wild card finish that the Mets would've been right there in. In fact, the Mets are currently 3rd in the wild card standings. So if a couple of external factors would've been different, your Mets may have been seeing October baseball this season. So I wouldn't blame it all solely on organizational shortcomings. --- Don't mind me. I'm just here for the contest. |

One of those seasons where if maybe 5 or 6 of your dumbest losses turned to wins, you might have had enough. They do look primed for the 2020 season, so I guess that's something to look forward to.
