Generally liked it, but I am super pissed that I managed to get myself spoiled for two out of the three sequel trilogy movies BEFORE THEY EVEN CAME OUT.

For Episode VII, an alt of somebody here (I believe Timjab) posted about Han dying, and for this one some fucking douchebag posted on a completely unrelated reddit thread like a week before it came out with a list of like five spoilers which I assumed were made up, but apparently not! The only one I both read and remembered before reporting him was about Rey being Palpatine's granddaughter, so then when they brought up her parentage again (and then definitely when she used the force-lightning) I realized it wasn't fake and I had a harder time enjoying the rest of the movie.

The insurance industry is not inherently evil. They provide a needed service (mitigating risk); in the absence of insurance, even more people with large, unexpected medical costs would be going bankrupt. That isn't to say that there aren't problems or that the government couldn't necessarily do a better job, but it's not morally wrong to work for an insurer.

Im agnostic, but even if I was confident that a god existed I doubt I would be religious. I had a lot of issues with how god is portrayed in the branches of Christianity Ive had experience with (in particular I thought that they were fundamentally inconsistent with the idea that god was perfectly good).

Really good point about the Duffey email: OMB did not turn this over to Congress despite being under subpoena. Releasing this under FOIA destroys the (already obviously ridiculous) claim of "absolute privilege," strengthening the case for obstruction. If it's privileged, it's privileged; it can't be released for some purposes but not to Congressional subpoena.

Donald Trump wasn't "going after corruption." He was trying to generate a scandal for his most likely general election opponent. A few things that strongly undermine Trump's "going after corruption" defense:

1. Trump has literally zero history of actually rooting out corruption anywhere, and is in fact hugely corrupt himself. People are supposed to believe that the one time he just happened to do it it just happened to be Joe Biden?
2. Trump's ask was for the announcement of an investigation into Burisma and the Bidens, not the actual investigation. An announcement is actively counterproductive to an actual investigation, but is very useful for Trump's actual goal of sliming Biden.

You can actually advance the game with that choice if you do it right. There's zero repercussions for picking wrong choices during investigation segments, so feel free to mess around.

And you can mess around during trials, too, if it doesn't show that you'll lose a badge for a wrong choice at the top of the screen. Wrong option dialogue is usually hilarious, to boot.

The White House sought this month to embed immigration enforcement agents within the U.S. refugee agency that cares for unaccompanied migrant children, part of a long-standing effort to use information from their parents and relatives to target them for deportation, according to six current and former administration officials.

Though senior officials at the Department of Health and Human Services rejected the attempt, they agreed to allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to collect fingerprints and other biometric information from adults seeking to claim migrant children at government shelters. If those adults are deemed ineligible to take custody of a child, ICE could then use their information to target them for arrest and deportation.

The arrangement appears to circumvent laws that restrict the use of the refu gee program for deportation enforcement; Congress has made it clear that it does not want those who come forward as potential sponsors of minors in U.S. custody to be frightened away by possible deportation. But, in the reasoning of senior Trump administration officials, adults denied custody of children lose their status as potential sponsors and are fair game for arrest.
