Even without Hideo you could make some amazing games with that franchise. MGS is over, pretty much. I can't see myself caring for a new game in the series except for maybe a Rising 2 or Metal Gear 1 or 2 remake. And I say this as a fan of the series who didn't even like Kojima and doesn't mind him gone. It'd just be dumb spinoffs or games clinging to the lore to stay on brand. Whereas Silent Hill and Castlevania can have stand alone titles that will still fit nicely into the main series. Silent Hill games are mostly unrelated from one game to the next and Castlevanias might as well be half the time. You can come up with original ideas that are still faithful to the series. It's a bit harder to do that with MGS without feeling like it's just banking on a wrapped up series. --- |

IIRC, later editions changed the mechanics to not use fuel when you weren't actively applying the throttle. In the original version, the fuel gauge was basically a timer. --- |

Those have always been straightforward. It's actually impressive how quickly they nailed the flight gameplay. --- |

By Silent Hill 3, they developed fantastic lighting and shadows on their engine. And then 4 happens and there isn't even a flashlight. It really took away from the scare factor. Which is a bummer because 4 has one of the best monster designs with the Twin Victims. --- |
