The phrase has always seemed more to me like a talking point that "the black community" uses to somewhat say "Most violence and crime and criminal behavior committed by black people is just taking place in a vacuum within a black bubble and doesn't have much of any real negative impact on non-black people". (therefore black-on-white crime is overhyped) I dunno, I think if you're a lower-class white person who lives right next door I reckon the ripples are still somewhat moving outward.

As one of those poor white people who grew up in a poverty & crime-ridden neighborhood (that was mostly black) I know very well what you mean.

In my opinion. All Star is a bad save that. Simply because there is no theme. Themes like villains or whatever make it way more interesting imo, but thats just me.

I figure it's the same reason Mario and Link always do terribly any time they're in a contest, popularity backlash. Everyone assumes they'll do great so they don't go out of their way to save them, so they sink.

I'm shocked when Cloud or Sephiroth do well for the same reason.

Agreed and also, why the fuck would it release on inferior hardware like the Switch? PS4 & Xbone would make sense, but I'd prefer they wait another year or so for PS5 & whatever comes next.

Modern Warfare was the bigger surprise, plus it finally hooked Jeff & Britta up, which most shows would wait another 6 seasons before ever getting around to.

Contests like this one are basically mixtures-- they pull from all media unlike say, save that Anime, RPG, or Fighting Game characters, which have also been done.

Mystique did the best of my nominees, which was pretty surprising to me. I figured Magneto would beat her easily. I think he went out too early-- and the group that was 11-15 were the ones I figured would be there at the end.

Royalty could be interesting, but I'd have to really think of who qualifies from all the various media sources. Some of them would be spoilers too, which I don't know how you want to handle that.

I've always seen it mentioned when discussing police violence against blacks (which isn't necessarily white cops)-- or if anything else, the rates of black on white crime.
