I had a young history teacher in high school that was not only super attractive, but had this habit of putting herself in situations that made her even hotter.
- One time we were taking a quiz and she had clues up on the projector she would occasionally show us in quick flashes by revealing a few words at a time that were covered by a sheet of paper. However, students were complaining that it wasn't helpful because the clues didn't make sense out of context when only a few words were visible at a time. She then asked if it "would be more helpful if I took it all off" (referring to the paper covering) and some guy in the back yelled out "Yes Please!" The whole class laughed and she got all red.
- In another class one of her buttons came undone on her button up shirt while she was passionately lecturing about some historical event so you could see maximum cleavage and a hint of her red bra underneath. She realized it soon afterwards, buttoned her shirt up immediately, and told us to take a break while she went to the bathroom. She was definitely embarrassed.

That's a verification check. They only verified that the information you listed was true. Had you not listed the job, they would have had no way to find out what your employment was.

Most background checks do not show your past work history. By design, there's no way they could, as there's no national database that employers can use to see who you worked for (well, technically there's IRS/Social security filings, but employers don't have access to that).
  • Criminal background checks (federal, state, or other) are through the courts and do not reveal employment history unless you have a record that is somehow related to your employment
  • Credit checks could potentially list your employer, but only if you applied for credit at an agency that asks for the name of your employer. Still, most jobs don't do credit checks unless you are working with a lot of money as part of the position (or for security clearances for government)
  • Verification checks only verify employment details that you already provided in your application. If you don't provide it in your application, it isn't included
  • Media/Online checks involve looking at your profile in social media sites (like Linked-In) or Google Searches, so they may find it if you are listed in a public directory that shows up on Google or if you list it on Linked-In. Technically, employers shouldn't do these types of checks on employees unless it's a very public leadership position, but many employers do it anyways.
Outside of that, there really isn't any way for them to find out where you worked if you didn't list it in an application or if they find out some other way by coincidence.

thats how they get you, with the fastest growing field and companies this fluff. The reality: no company is going to hire a 20 year old to manage their supply chains. Second, look up the higher ups degrees, usually they are industrial engineers with mbas which outclasses a supply chain major. The reality is that you will be stuck in a dead end bull **** analyst job, glorified sales for a 3PL, or working in some ***** warehouse in the boonies. Dont believe the bull **** the colleges feed you about this one lol.
I'll agree that many entry-level jobs are crappy analyst jobs, but I'd say that is the case in almost every field. Even aerospace engineers start off as the equivalent of an "engineer analyst" so judging a degree based on their entry-level prospects isn't telling the full story.

Also, I've worked in the aviation field along with supply chain companies and my wife was a supply chain manager for a few years so this isn't just info that was fed to me by a college lol.

I had to take a slight pay cut to get a job that was closer to family (Around $8k gross pay cut). However, my monthly take-home income ended up being more in the new job than the old one. Turns out the new job paid for all my health insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance premiums while I had to pay out of pocket in the old one. My retirement contribution into the new job was also much lower as it paid into a pension plan, rather than the 401k in the old job where the contribution was higher. And my commute is much closer so less money spent on gas and tolls.

My advice if anyone is considering a pay cut, really look into the non-salary benefits as they can end up saving you much more in the long run with the right company.

I don't see how Supply Chain Management is any less useful than other degrees. It's one of the fastest growing fields in the US (and I'd argue the world, but the US for sure), especially in the aviation industry. In the efforts to cut costs in an increasingly expensive industry, supply chain management has become the variable most suited for cost cutting. If you can make your supply chain more efficient and faster, you save on money and resources. I've worked with a tons of startups in Florida trying to corner that market, and most of them have failed because the owners knew nothing about how to run a decent supply chain. The degree teaches the fundamentals and the strategies for improving them.

I will agree, though, that people hype up finance degrees a lot more than their alleged usefulness. While they can get you a job (compared to more generic business degrees), they are usually low-level pencil pusher jobs where you have to work your way up to the "cool" ones.

The way I read that meme isn't that they have to eat food from their own culture, but it looks more to be a comment about how often White people eat out and don't cook at home, so they're not very good at it.

That's a generalization of course, but I do think it's more of an American thing (not so much a race thing) to eat out a lot. Anecdotally, I had a friend (who cooks a lot) asking on Facebook once why everyone was complaining about making meals during the pandemic. She was like "what did you all do for food before the pandemic?"

Surprisingly, her facebook post blew up to over 100 comments of people saying that they basically ate out 4-6 days a week because they either didn't have time or energy to cook at home after work. Really surprised me as I grew up with home cooked meals every day, with eating out only for celebrations.

Its alright. I watched the first few episodes. The only thing I didnt like was Webby being good at everything relevant to the show (Oh no, Im bad at social situations in a show where every character is my friend by default and Im otherwise invincible. Woe is me.)
Personally, I thought she was introduced well. Her social issues have caused enough problems in the show just as all the boys' "weaknesses" have caused problems in the show.

I don't really see where you are going with her being seen as "invincible" as all the boys are shown to be that way as well. A good example is the episode with Bigfoot. Bigfoot was trolling Louie back and forth and I honestly thought it would go the cliche route where nobody would believe Louie until Bigfoot messed up and finally vindicated Louie through no action of his own. But instead, he devises a plan that works perfectly where Big Foot's true identity is never discovered but he is still able to beat him and make a mockery of him throughout.

It seems the kids rarely end up losing out, whether Weby or the boys (with the one exception of Louie in that time travelling episode).

EDIT: In fact, I just remembered that Webby's "flaw" is what causes the entire main conflict of the first season that almost allows Magika to take over the world. Her desperation to be social allows Magika to manipulate her to get as far as she did to begin with.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Rescue Rangers will be showing up much in future, as the crew could only clear the minor usage of the characters from the higher ups after some difficulty. It seems they are trying to think of something to do with the property at a later point, and don't want to tie it up with this cartoon.

It looks like there will be a healthy dose of TaleSpin crossovers, though. We already have Don Karnage as a recurring character, and art of Kit Cloudkicker and Molly [insert last name here I forgot it] as adults has surfaced at one of those conventions. Goofy, Max and co. are pretty much 'canon', even if they don't pop up much, and Darkwing Duck stuff is already well integrated into the story of the show - also, art of a reimagined Gosalyn popped up on that big promo poster from a couple of years back. If you like remembering when you were between the ages of 8 and 12, you're probably going to be vibing to this show for a while.

That recent AstroBoy inspired episode was great.

That sucks about the Rescue Rangers. But oh well, they are incorporating enough properties, as you mentioned, that it's okay. I'm surprised we've gotten as many crossovers as we have. I also read somewhere that Daisy will be making an appearance. That should be fun for a Donald plotline.

Happened to catch the show on television in the background while I was grading papers. I caught a joke that amused me so I tuned in. It was surprisingly a good episode. Then I realize it is heavily serialized (can't remember how serialized the original was), so I go to binge watch it and I'm pleasantly surprised to its quality.

  • Intro theme cover is pretty good, I'd say equal in quality to original
  • I love that Donald plays a bigger role in this show
  • I thought I'd hate the addition of Weby, but I thought she was implemented well and added another dimension to the team
  • Character development in the show is pretty good and it builds past individual episodes (something that bugs me about American cartoons is that character development that happens in one episode is usually gone by the next)
  • Cameos and guest appearances are implemented well into the show (I particularly liked how they implemented Darkwing Duck, the Three Caballeros, Chip and Dale, and Goofy.
  • There are some fun episode gimmicks that go very meta with their humor, similar to shows like Community or Supernatural
  • Interesting amount of pathos in some of those overarching plotlines

If you enjoyed the original Ducktales, I'd suggest you give it a try.

HOWEVER, if you watch it on Disney+, just know that the first season is out of order and you will be spoiled if you watch it in the order provided. I used an online guide for correct episode order.

But what exactly is revenge porn? Does it mean that someone wants revenge on another person and posts pornographic material containing them? Not quite. In fact, in many jurisdictions a perpetrator doesn't even need to be exacting revenge on anyone. The distributor of the material need only intend to distribute the sexually explicit video or photograph with the intent to annoy or harass the victim without their consent.

So yes, what he did can be legally classified as revenge porn (in most jurisdictions).

A lot of people include non-food items in their "grocery" expenses, such as toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, trash bags, detergent, pet food, etc. That really drives up the price of groceries unless you budget those expenses under a different category.

Also, not everyone wants to eat the same thing every day. For many, meal prepping the same meal for five days in a row, while cheap, is miserable for them, and only encourages them to eat out instead.

I can eat the same thing every day with no problem, but my wife can't. So even if we're meal prepping with raw ingredients, buying enough ingredients to make 2-3 different meals can get pricey.

Generally speaking, if you go into information systems or systems engineering, you can get by without coding (but coding helps). Depending on the specific work you are doing, it may be difficult to outsource because some of the work requires being on-call and driving down to the physical location if there's an issue, which of course can't be outsourced.

Networking mostly involves using computer software and "plugging stuff" to set networks up correctly

Database can either involve SQL (which sort of is coding) or NoSQL databases, which would mostly just be database design (like setting up which fields go where and whatnot), data entry, and clicking other buttons on a screen

information security idk much about. i thought that was mostly coding. i know some of the info security people at my workplace basically just are people who memorize/edit/update lists though

infrastructure idk

There are a lot of other fields to IT as well, even like computer repair type stuff (like being a technician) is considered 'IT' I believe
My wife does information systems for a hospital and the job involves minimal coding. Mostly it's just going through databases and finding errors as they communicate between each other. Also finding ways to make the various software programs and databases to operate more efficiently, such as streamlining communication or removing extra steps. None of that requires coding; just an understanding of how databases work from beginning to end and being able to troubleshoot minute problems (or managing the "system").

Topic'ppl who disregard a struggling artists financial woes should do without art'
Zanzenburger

I feel like some people are oversimplifying the issue.

On the one hand, art is more viable career than people are making it out to be. Most art programs nowadays are moving to digital art and their graduates go on to get marketing jobs. Do you know how in demand you are if you can design billboards, logos, and websites? Traditional 2D art programs exist still, but are shrinking compared to 3D art and digital art. People who make fun of art majors don't really understand how valuable their skillset is. I worked at a college with a big art program and most graduates got full time jobs at ad agencies, corporations, and even designing t shirts and such for a state park. Their work is definitely valued and people who say it should just be a hobby are severely underestimating how important artists are to the economy.

But on the other hand, artists who venture off on their own are not being smart about it and then complain that the world doesn't appreciate them. The fact is if you are a freelancer artist then you are basically running an art business. As such, all?entrepreneurial rules apply. You wanna make money doing art? Make a business plan. Do market research on the viability of your market. Before you spend all that money on art supplies, dona cost analysis on how you would fund it and how many sales it would take to return your investment. And for the love of God, have a healthy marketing budget. You can't expect a new restaurant to succeed without spending any money on advertising. You also can't expect an artist to succeed if his only marketing avenue is posting his art on facebook.

I have an artist friend who does very well selling her art. In all honesty, it's not that great (compared to others I see). But she treats it as a business. She advertises through the proper channels, makes cold calls to businesses about her services, does promotions, and constantly asks for referrals and google reviews. And she does great. She takes orders and people pay her handsomely for it. Most of her referrals come from people who appreciated the service more than the quality of artwork itself. They say the price is great, turnaround time is fast, and she gives off a professional vibe, not a struggling artist vibe.

If you, as an artist, cannot commit to the requirements of running a business, then freelancing isn't for you and you should get a corporate job.

I do. It's great for industry news since I have many friends who work in the industry.
