Honestly, I don't read posts most of the time. I just tally the votes and move on. (And other people have been tallying this year, too!) So if there has been discussion about the match in the topic, I'm not in support of that. I don't mind talking about it in Discord, but that's mostly because I'm assuming mostly anyone who's reading those remarks in Discord has already voted. However, that's also one of the reasons why I, personally, don't usually count the votes until at least the afternoon.

I'm not trying to stop these discussions. I'm a numbers guy. I love seeing statistics and analysis. I just want to make sure we keep proper perspective.

Emphasizing who was the original nominator and not who supported a song leads to some mentalities I'm not terribly keen on. Not only does it foster a me-against-them vantage, but it makes it feel like your contributions to the contest are even more marginalized and irrelevant at a stage when normally only an eighth of the songs would remain. (This year, it's a sixth.) I've been listening to this "my song" perspective throughout the contest, even indulged it at times, and I honestly don't think it's healthy.

Pre-contest, there were 40 or 50 songs I felt I could get behind. I think that number's down to maybe one hand or less, but the point is that I do still have songs I feel okay or even good about, in spite of a ~50% voting success record and the overwhelming brunt of the picks in my predictions bracket gone after round 2. If I looked at it from the perspective here, though, this would suggest that I've been "eliminated" from the contest and that I should probably just stop caring. Or be bitter and angry about the results, and I certainly don't need any help with that.

Please try to remember that statistically speaking, on average, if you were successful at bracketify-ing 18 of the 20 songs you applied a "nomination" toward, (which includes your supports -- this isn't Best OST,) you should have three of them left. Some people will have none and some will have six, but this is the norm and what you should consider expected. Stamping one name on each song, while it may be warranted in some cases because that person discovered the song and brought it to the board, is not fair to yourself or anyone else. Getting a song into the bracket is a team effort that took a minimum of three people and probably five. To say nothing of any song you like, but didn't happen to support.

Since we have a relevant topic, I'd like to point out to anyone who might care that Square-Enix is going out of their way to issue copyright strikes against any Youtube channels that have uploaded any of their music. They're taking down a ton of the old-time channels, like Supradarky, just because they think people will switch over to listening to official uploads on Spotify.

And while that's their right, and I can understand wanting to get paid for their copyrighted work, it's absolutely devastating to the VGM community, and also incredibly short-sighted, as a ton of people have bought their OSTs as a direct result of hearing them through free avenues like YouTube.

A Plague Tale: Innocence (PC)

I probably have a number of games I haven't posted here, but this one was outside my wheelhouse and I pushed through it anyway.

I had no idea what APTI was going in, somehow. I rarely buy games blindly, yet this is pretty much exactly what I did here. And just shy of the first two hours, I was tempted to return it just because it was clearly not what I normally play. The early game has a lot of stealth tactics that give way to what almost feels like survival-horror. It would be more accurate to merely say it's an "action" game, though, in the vein of a contemporary Tomb Raider with less combat.

However, what the game does well, it does phenomenally well. The voice acting, the graphics, the level design are all absolutely top notch. I feel like the story jumped the tracks a little at the end, but the character end of the writing is incredibly well done. Would recommend.

I voted for Rogue One, it's the only one out of the new stuff or prequels I liked, and RotJ is a boring answer.

Basically my reasoning.

I really don't get 8, though. 8's not "divisive." It's simply bad. And I'd written more here, but I see it hasn't picked up any new votes overnight, so the percentage is fairly low at this point.

I weighed 130 in high school. I've gained an average of like 3 pounds per year since. When that got to mid-160s, I decided to get off my ass and start doing something about it, but that hasn't really stopped the increase. It's just gone other places.

Idk guys, when I go into something, I don't expect or require all loose ends to be tied up by the end. It's nice when they are, but ultimately unnecessary for me as long as there's character development for me to enjoy.

First match - you'd think I'd like Rude Buster. It sounds like a song I'd go for. It just doesn't do anything I like, though, so much as simply have energy. That worked for Rave On, but not here.
Second match - neither of these songs appeal to me the whole way through, considering they change what they're doing at least once. I like more of Apostle's Maraud, though.

I suspected it the instant the scroll was part of the case. Elise's mysterious background helped, too. I'm not normally one to figure stuff out before the reveal, but that one seemed really obvious to me.

That, and later, (LEGIT SPOILER) when they're all talking about how Maya must have died, and trying to figure out the whereabouts of other people, I was like, idiots, can't you see she's being possessed?

They're supposed to be locked, but they aren't. I got to play Brann last night and was offered Mukla.

Mukla looks bad and Tess seems very situational. So yes, it makes sense Brann would be the best of the three. My game as Brann, I forced murlocs and got a pretty good loadout of them, such that I would have normally done quite well, but somehow I got seriously rushed down in turned 4-8 and ended up in 5th despite a pretty good board.

Earlier that night, though, my first exposure to Brann was a guy playing with murlocs banned, so what did he do? He took every damn pogo-hopper he could find. Top 3, I faced him, beat him, knocked him down to 2. But he had a card-Brann and some battlemasters to carry, and pulled ahead of me once he tripled the second pogo and I couldn't beat him after that. Lost three matches in heads-up and that was that.

I seem to come in second, third, or fourth each about ten times as often as first. I did have a rare victory last night using a partial murlocs build with two annoy-o'ed Sneeds. I think that was just a weak lobby, though.
