That alone is a good enough reason to not say it. And as we see, plenty of old people are offended by the use of the word being used to mock them simply for being born earlier. Other slurs also had starting points with no historical context at one point, and it took times like the ones were living in now for situations and experiences to be created that give negative power to the word. --- |

But for some reason boomer is used in the same manner as slurs against those groups and its not met with the same severity. Because the meaning of words changes over time. Example, the t-word used to simply be a short hand version of transgender, but was used in poor context enough that it was considered to be a slur. Boomer is now used in a similar manner. --- |
